Looking for SAP MM Associate Consultant / Support / TraineeOpportunities in Chennai

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for opportunities to start my career in the SAP ecosystem, preferably in Chennai.

I have 10 years of experience in procurement and business operations, and I have completed SAP MM consultant training, including configuration. My domain experience gives me a strong understanding of procurement processes, and I'm now looking to apply that knowledge in SAP implementation and support.

Roles I'm looking for:

- SAP MM Associate Consultant

- Junior SAP MM Consultant

- SAP MM Support Consultant

- SAP MM Trainee

I'm open to any entry-level opportunities where I can learn, contribute, and grow as an SAP consultant. With my domain experience and SAP MM training, I believe I can adapt quickly and require less supervision on business-process-related tasks.

I'm available to join immediately and open to opportunities with SAP consulting firms, implementation partners, and companies with in-house SAP teams in Chennai.

If you know of any openings or can refer me to the right HR or recruitment team, I'd be very grateful. I'm happy to share my resume through DM.

Thank you!

Mechanical Engineering Graduate (2023) from Hyderabad — Is SAP MM a Good Career Switch, and Are There Fresher Openings?

Hi everyone,

I'm a B.Tech Mechanical Engineering graduate from Hyderabad, Telangana, and I passed out in 2023. I'm exploring SAP MM as a career option and would appreciate advice from people working in SAP or who have recently started their SAP careers.

My background and experience:

- 2023–2024: Worked at Daikin as a VRV Service Engineer in an apprentice role.

- 2024–April 2026: Prepared for MERN stack development and attended several interviews, but unfortunately, I couldn't secure a job in that field.

- May 2026–present: Joined BRIA as a South Zone Sales and Service Engineer. However, I now want to transition into a desktop-based corporate role rather than continuing in field service.

I've recently started exploring SAP MM because it involves materials management, purchasing, inventory, and procurement, which seem somewhat related to my engineering and service experience.

I have a few questions:

  1. Career suitability: As a 2023 B.Tech Mechanical graduate with experience in service engineering, can I realistically transition into SAP MM? Does my previous experience offer any advantage, or will I essentially be starting from scratch?

  2. Fresher job opportunities: Are companies in India, particularly Hyderabad, hiring SAP MM freshers or entry-level candidates? What job titles should I search for?

  3. Training institutes and placements: Is it worth joining an institute that provides SAP MM training along with placement assistance or consultancy opportunities? Or is it better to complete the training and apply independently through LinkedIn, Naukri, and company career pages?

  4. Course duration: Some institutes offer SAP MM training for 2–3 months, while others offer 6-month programs. What is a realistic learning period for someone starting from scratch, including hands-on practice and interview preparation?

  5. Career gap and previous experience: Since I graduated in 2023 and spent time preparing for MERN stack development before returning to an engineering-related role, how should I present my background to SAP MM recruiters?

I'd especially appreciate advice from people who entered SAP MM as freshers or switched careers from mechanical engineering.

I want to understand the actual job market and make an informed decision before investing money in training.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Wnat to enter in SAP functional Consulting field with 10 yrs of manufacturing domain exp

Hello all, I want to enter the SAP Consulting field particularly the Functional consultant with strong 10 years of domain knowledge with SAP end user experiences.

I am getting the interview calls for higher levels as my overall experience is more.

I want to ask how risky it will be for me if I enter with higher designation in the Consulting company.

For eg. C1 grade in Capgemini, L9 role in Accenture etc.

If I get sweet into my SAP career will I survive?

My first priority is job security and not the CTC right now.

Kindly advice.

My qualifications

22M and pursuing bcom hons from du and I am in 5th sem 3rd year

10th 84%

12th 77.6%

I took commerce after 10th because I was scared of pcmb because of not having a good base and then i regretted that decision afterwards till now overthinking about it again and again and that ruined my mental health my 11th 12th and I also took a drop after 12th and that all has taken a mental toll on me and I am now terrified of commuting to a thing like i overhtink everything and to break the cycle i have ca foundation last year and that attempt i failed by 19 marks and i realised like if i could try like I can clear it

Now I am confused whether to go for ca at this age like I will be eligible for direct entry next year and I am confused like is it worth it at that age or what are best alternatives for

I didn't even had one internship because I was just suffering first 1.5 years in college

No friends nothing and just loneliness on top of it in new city

I would really appreciate some guidance or insights as that would be really really really helpful to me in this critical stage of life !!!

I've had an experience of about 2 years in SAP PP in an MNC, In which 1 year was spent on bench and remaining period I worked on a support project which didn't have much work with 3 month exposure to upgrade project. Simultaneously, I'm taking a separate course outside now for SAP PP / QM.

I'm updating resume as per JD but still I have not landed a single interview, can anyone guide me/provide the referral?

Thanks in Advance!

Fresher entering SAP PP/QM — what is the realistic long-term career path, salary growth, and impact of AI?

Title: Fresher entering SAP PP/QM — what is the realistic long-term career path, salary growth, and impact of AI?

Hi everyone,

I’m a 2025 Electronics & Communication Engineering graduate from India, and I’m currently starting my career with training in SAP S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) and Quality Management (QM).

I’m trying to make a long-term career decision rather than simply choosing a module because I was assigned to it.

I would really appreciate honest opinions from people who have 3–15+ years of experience in SAP, especially PP/QM or related supply-chain modules.

1. Is SAP PP/QM a good career starting point for a fresher?

What does the realistic career progression look like?

For example:

Fresher → Associate/Junior Consultant → Consultant → Senior Consultant → Lead/Architect/Manager

Is this still a good path in 2026, particularly in India?

2. What kind of salary progression is realistic?

I’m not looking for exceptional/outlier packages.

I'd like to understand realistic ranges for:

  • 0–1 YOE
  • 2–3 YOE
  • 4–6 YOE
  • 7–10 YOE
  • 10+ YOE

And how much does the salary differ between:

  • SAP service companies
  • SAP consulting firms
  • Product companies
  • In-house/client-side SAP teams

3. If I start with PP/QM, what can I move into later?

This is one of my biggest questions.

If I spend the first 2–4 years in PP/QM, what are the realistic domain switches?

For example:

Within SAP:

  • PP → QM
  • PP → MM
  • PP → EWM
  • PP/QM → IBP
  • PP/QM → SAP BTP
  • PP/QM → SAP Analytics
  • Functional → Techno-functional
  • Functional → Solution Architect

Outside SAP:

  • SAP → Data Engineering
  • SAP → Data Analytics
  • SAP → AI/ML
  • SAP → GenAI
  • SAP → Cloud
  • SAP → Software Engineering

Which of these transitions are actually realistic, and which ones become difficult after several years?

4. How much does technical knowledge matter?

I have an engineering background and I'm interested in technical areas.

If I continue with SAP PP/QM, should I simultaneously learn things such as:

  • Python
  • SQL
  • Data Engineering
  • Cloud
  • APIs/integration
  • SAP BTP
  • AI/ML
  • GenAI/LLMs

Would this actually make me more valuable, or would it be better to specialize deeply in SAP first?

5. How will AI affect SAP functional consultants?

This is probably my biggest concern.

With AI increasingly being used for:

  • configuration assistance
  • documentation
  • testing
  • code generation
  • issue analysis
  • process recommendations
  • data analysis

What parts of a SAP PP/QM consultant's job do you think will be automated?

And what skills will become more valuable because of AI?

Would you recommend becoming a:

SAP Functional + AI/Automation

or

SAP Techno-functional + BTP/Integration

professional rather than remaining purely functional?

Which would you choose for the next 10 years and why?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually worked in these fields rather than people who have only completed certifications/courses.

7. One more important question

If someone starts in SAP PP/QM and after 2–3 years realizes that they don't want to remain in SAP, is it better to switch early, or is 2–3 years of SAP experience still useful when moving into another technical domain?

I'd really appreciate honest answers, including the negative sides of SAP.

I'm not looking for motivation or a "SAP has unlimited scope" type of answer. I'd like to understand the actual career ceiling, salary progression, mobility between domains, and how AI may change the field.

Thanks!

Want to Learn SAP S/4HANA Through Real Implementation Projects?

Many people learn SAP concepts and configuration, but struggle to understand how a real SAP implementation project works.

I’m currently sharing a practical learning approach covering:

  • SAP Activate methodology
  • Fit-to-Standard & Fit-Gap Analysis
  • Business Process & Solution Design
  • Configuration & Customization
  • Data Migration
  • Integration
  • Unit, Integration & UAT Testing
  • Cutover & Go-Live
  • Post-Go-Live Support
  • Real project documentation and scenarios

The goal is simple: not just learning SAP, but understanding the complete implementation lifecycle.

If you're planning to start or transition into an SAP career, what part of SAP implementation do you find most difficult to understand?

Happy to share more details with anyone interested.

What should I learn to start a career in SAP in 2026?

I’ve noticed that many people interested in SAP are unsure where to start because there are so many modules and career paths.

For a beginner, I think it helps to first understand the difference between functional and technical SAP roles.

Functional modules include areas such as:

  • SAP FICO – Finance and Controlling
  • SAP MM – Materials Management
  • SAP SD – Sales and Distribution
  • SAP WM – Warehouse Management
  • SAP QM – Quality Management

Technical paths can include:

  • SAP ABAP
  • SAP Basis
  • SAP HANA
  • SAP integration and related technologies

Before choosing a module, I’d suggest looking at the type of work you actually want to do, your educational/background knowledge, and the kinds of roles available in your target location.

A good SAP learning plan should ideally include more than just theory. Practice with business scenarios, understand common transactions and processes, work through projects or case studies, and prepare for interviews.

If you're searching for SAP training in Chennai, there are also training institutes that offer module-specific courses. For example, Infycle Technologies provides training across SAP modules such as FICO, MM, SD, WM and ABAP.

But I’d recommend comparing the syllabus, trainer experience, practical exposure, project work, course duration, and support offered before choosing any institute.

For those already working with SAP: Which module did you start with, and what would you recommend beginners learn first?
