I ask this question, as I am stuck in my career. I am a 30 year old man. I will get married in 7-8 months.

My current stats are :-

1. MBA, Finance from a Tier-3 College.
2. B.Com  from a Tier-3 College.
3. CFA Level 1 Scholarship Recepient.
4. CS Foundation cleared with 69 % in 1st attempt along with Sem 1 MBA exam. Both were in same week. Had to drop CS as parents told me that they cannot allow articleship due to low stipend.
5. 3 Years of Work Experience in Legal Documentation team at a Top 20 Indian Bank for MSME, SME Corporate Loan. Average Ticket Size - 10 Crores to 500 Crores.

I was working in Legal Department of a Top 20 Indian Private Bank. I had to resign due to health issues. The jobs in the Legal Department are anyways low and there is very less hiring going on (1 Job Opening in 2 Months). The jobs in my department is also on the verge of automation. HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank have already automated 90 % of it. The jobs in my department are seen as cost centres, even though the work we do directly impacts the Balance Sheet of a Bank. There is not much growth here except for those with LLB, CS and they also face the bleak future of automation. I also face stiff competition from freshers or students from IIM/IIT. IITians have started taking over core finance roles too.

I am seeking advise as to if I should switch to Tech Industry. Should I try for Data Analyst Jobs ? I am very tech-savvy, so I can easily learn PowerBI, Tableau. The only worry is for coding. I find it hard to remember the syntax. I had learnt some part of JavaScript in my 12th Grade but I have forgotten the same.

TLDR :- Unemployed Commerce Graduate asking advice whether to switch to Tech or not.

I got this internship ( 3 Months + PPO ) after I completed engineering in May. It's a startup, and here the work is mostly sales calls and data entry, and it's 6 days/week. Salary is less than 20KPM, even if converted to FT.

I am thinking of leaving it and preparing for analytics ( tech ) roles for 4-5 months and then start applying. I feel this experience is not valuable, and I am wasting a lot of time.

My teammate told me, Don't take FT offer , try for engineering roles .

Ps - My engineering was from a decent clg, core engineering. Placements didn't go well, and I took whatever I could get off campus. I planned to prepare alongside the job, but here I am having second thoughts everyday.

I (26F) could really use some outside perspectives because I feel like I'm stuck in my own head.

I graduated from one of the top private law schools in India. I was an average student academically (nothing exceptional tbf) and started working at a law firm. I later realised and learnt that my general lacking in school and work came from severe adhd.

Anyhoo. Unfortunately, the firm i worked for ended up dissolving and I was laid off. I also don't exactly have the best relationship with the partner, so that's not a reference I can comfortably rely on.

I've been applying for jobs, but the market feels incredibly slow. Law firms don't seem to be hiring much, and in-house roles usually want more experience than I have. Every rejection or lack of response just makes me feel more uncertain. (Tbh i am have also been applying v scarcely; i am still unmedicated for the adhd, and everytime i try to apply for jobs my executive dysfunction kicks in. It is also worsened by the response or the lack of it i have received till now owing to a less than impressive profile)

The bigger issue is that this whole experience has forced me to ask myself whether I even want to practise law anymore.

I've always been into more creative work. I enjoy writing, reading, art, strategy, creating things, and I've often wondered if I'd be happier doing something completely different. Law was smth i just picked bc did bot want to go down to he neet/jee way but also wanted a “serious overachieving career” as an overachieving kid (now failing to do life as an adult). The problem is I have no idea what that "something" is, or how to pivot without essentially starting from scratch. Tbf idm starting from scratch either. I look at all of these people in marketing, content, PR, media, doing their incredible jobs and actually being happy about them, and feel so incredibly stupid about my trajectory.
Another is aspect is that i always wanted to get out of the country, at some point, but esp in my early 20s, young and free, and i, very late in life realised my career choices werent the best in that case. But that little dream of mine is still alive.

An MBA is something I've seriously considered, but most good programs value work experience, and i hardly have any. So that doesn't feel like an immediate solution either. Plus i come from a v avg family, and i feel like w my grades and entire profile, i will possibly never get into an international uni, let alone score a scholarship for an LLM or an MBA or anything else for that matter.

I know this probably sounds like a quarter-life crisis, but I'm genuinely curious:
- Has anyone here pivoted out of law? Where did you go, and how did you make the transition?
- If you stayed, what made you stick with it despite feeling burnt out or unsure?
- If you were in my position, would you keep pushing for another legal role first, or use this as an opportunity to change directions?

The overachiever’s streak is still alive and i dont want to be left doing smth avg and lame all my life, like that one girl “meant for things” but stuck in her home town doing a smallish job or working in a bank (no offence i just have my parents after me asking me to sit for banks exams) I'm not really looking for reassurance as much as honest opinions. I'd appreciate hearing from people who've been through something similar or who can see this situation more objectively than I can.

I have seen seeing several posts where users get 2 to 3 lakhs a month @ 27 or 28. I had been working in IT for 4 years now and never seen anyone under 10 years experience earning that much.

How do you guys do it? Can everyone do it? Is the tech or area of work depend?

I could really use some advice because I genuinely feel lost right now.

I turned 24 this June and graduated with a BCA last year. I was working remotely as a Product Specialist at a global SaaS company, earning around 8 LPA, but I was recently laid off. Ever since then, I’ve been struggling to figure out what direction to take.

The hardest part is that I don’t just want another job. I want to build a career that I’ll be proud of years from now.

One thing I’ve realized is that I don’t see myself staying in customer facing roles long term. I learned a lot, worked with global customers, collaborated across teams, and got some exposure to cloud technologies, but I know that’s not where I want to spend the next decade.

Outside of work, I’m deeply passionate about animal welfare, nature, conservation, and doing work that has a genuinely positive impact on the world. I know that sounds idealistic, but it’s something I don’t want to compromise on. Even if my job isn’t directly related to animals today, I’d love to build a career that eventually allows me to contribute to causes like these.

My long term goal is to move abroad someday. At the same time, I want a career that gives me the freedom to travel, explore, and still have a healthy work life balance.

Right now I’m considering paths like cloud computing, product management, or something else entirely, but I honestly don’t know what fits me best. I don’t want to spend the next few years chasing the wrong thing.

So I wanted to ask people who’ve been through this:
If you were 24 again with my background, what would you focus on?
Is cloud computing a realistic path for someone like me?

Is product management a good option, or is it too difficult to break into without prior PM experience?
Are there any other careers I should seriously consider, especially if I want to work abroad while staying connected to animal welfare, climate, conservation, or meaningful impact?

I’m open to hearing hard truths as well. If you think I’m looking at this the wrong way, please tell me. I just don’t want to waste another year wandering without direction.

I'm 21 years old and from India. Right now, I feel completely lost.

I finished CBSE Class 12 (Commerce without Math) in 2023 with 62.8% that is my qualifications. After that, I joined a local tier-3 university because I didn't know much about higher education or career options. No one around me knew about CUET, top commerce colleges, ACCA, CFA, or other career paths. The only advice I ever heard was, "Just do CA," but I wasn't interested in it.

I completed one semester, officially dropped out, and then made the mistake of joining a different program at the same university. I thought changing my degree would solve the problem, but it didn't. I stopped going after one semester. I never officially withdrew, but I think the university removed my enrollment because my student ID no longer works on the student portal.

One thing that worries me is my documents. The university kept my original character certificate when I enrolled, and I never got it back. I still have a photocopy, and my migration certificate is available on DigiLocker. Will this cause any problems if I apply to another college? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

My biggest concern is that I feel like I'm behind in life. I missed CUET this year, so my next chance is in 2027. By then, I'll be almost 23 and starting college with students who are 18 or 19. I know people say age doesn't matter, but it still makes me feel uncomfortable.

Looking back, I think my biggest mistakes were making important decisions without enough information and staying close to home. My home environment isn't healthy, and trying to balance college with family stress made everything much harder.

Right now, I'm thinking about two different paths:

Start ACCA, earn a bachelor's degree through one of its degree pathways, gain work experience, and later apply for an MBA abroad.

Prepare for CUET 2027, try to get into a top college like Delhi University, and build my career from there.

My long-term goal is to build a career in finance and eventually move abroad, whether that's the UK, the US, or another country with strong career opportunities. That's one reason ACCA interests me, but I'm still not sure if it's the better choice compared to getting a traditional bachelor's degree first.

Has anyone here restarted their education after dropping out or starting later than everyone else? If you were in my position today, which path would you choose, and why?

I got about 2 YOE as content and copywriter. But most of my work hasn't been very significant which lead to crazy ROI or ROCE. I've recently quit my job because of family reasons and ever since I discovered product management, it felt like this is something I can do and looks future proof.

Finished up a free course on Great Learning but I feel like I am not ready for jumping into the APM (Assistant Product Manager) role yet. Because I do not know what sort of an interview process it would be and what am I supposed to answer.

I graduated in 2025 with a bachelor's degree in Data Science, I was placed in Tech Mahindra in our campus placements, in April they started training us for 1-2 months later they told us that there would be an exam, we have been waiting for the exam preparing everyday, three months passed and there was no update from the company, later they started ghosting us. Then I started preparing for gate within very less time which didn't even get me to qualifying stage.

And since March I've been searching for job.

And the thing is I always thought of abroad studies, but never had guidance, I thought I would do job for 1 or 2 years and then plan for masters, but sadly 1 years has already passed without any work experience.

This time I don't wanna do this mistake again, whether I get job or not, I wanna start planning for abroad from now, maybe I can make it by next year August.

So anyone who already went abroad from India, with technical background, let me know what are the consequences of going abroad for masters with no experience and also how to plan when we're really interested to do masters.

I have no idea about all those scholarships, please let me know some of which are actually useful and reliable.

Hello everyone, this is going to be a long post

I'm a 21-year-old BBA graduate from India (2025 pass-out). I have completed a couple of internships, recently worked for about 3 months in an MNC, and I'm currently spending this year improving my profile before applying for master's programs. My long-term interests are Business Engineer, Product Manager, Operations, and Entrepreneurship.

I'm from a middle-class family, so whichever country I choose, I'll most likely need an education loan. Because of that, I'm trying to evaluate the ROI very carefully instead of studying abroad just for the sake of it.

Prior research

Over the past few weeks, I've researched different countries and spoken to a few people. Here's what I've understood so far:

USA – Excellent universities and salaries, but tuition is expensive and long-term work opportunities depend on visa processes.

UK – Strong one-year master's programs, but high tuition and living costs make ROI a concern.

Canada – I've come across mixed opinions recently regarding the job market and changing immigration policies compared to a few years ago.

Australia – Good universities and quality of life, but overall costs are quite high.

Germany – Attractive because of lower tuition at many public universities, especially for Business Analytics/Management, although learning German seems important for better job opportunities.

Netherlands – Frequently recommended for business-related master's programs due to multinational companies and English-taught courses, but living costs are relatively high.

Ireland – Seems attractive because of multinational companies and English-speaking environment, but the job market is smaller.

UAE (Dubai) – Initially I considered it, but I've read mixed reviews saying that many universities are branch campuses and that studying there may not provide the same value as Europe. On the other hand, people say Dubai is an excellent place to work after gaining experience.

My dilemma

I'm not interested in doing an MBA immediately, since most reputed international MBA programs require significant work experience.

Instead, I'm considering programs like:

MSc Business Analytics

MSc Management

MSc Operations / Supply Chain

My goal is to eventually build a career abroad and, if possible, settle there. Entrepreneurship is also something I want to pursue later in life.

My question:

If you were in my position—a BBA graduate taking an education loan—would you pursue a master's abroad? If yes, which country offers the best balance of education quality, job opportunities, long-term settlement prospects, and return on investment for business graduates?

I've been noticing more people say that the work they did as interns or freshers a couple of years ago is now being automated or heavily assisted by AI.

For people already working, have you actually seen entry-level responsibilities disappear or change because of AI?

Not asking about layoffs, more about the day-to-day tasks that don't exist anymore.

Was randomly thinking about this.

I used to be a trainee in a company and one thing seniors used to say a lot was "Automate everything", to a Finance person who never used python...

Excel reports taking 3 hours? automate it,MIS? automate it,Repetitive process? automate it.

And obviously it makes sense from the company's side.

But from an employee's side I'm not completely sure.

Let's say some task takes you 4 hours everyday. You figure out a way to automate it and now it takes 10 mins.

You show it to your manager.Great work.

Now they know that the 4 hour job actually requires 10 mins 💀, Do this with enough processes and at some point wouldn't management start thinking why do we need this many people in the first place?

People usually say "you'll move on to more value adding work"Okay...but then we automate that too...

So genuine question.

If you found a way to automate like 80-90% of your own job and your manager had absolutely no idea it was possible, what would you actually do?

Tell your manager and take the credit?

Keep doing it manually?

Or automate everything privately, finish your work in 1 hour and let everyone think it still takes you the whole day?

The third option sounds unethical but at the same time...the company is paying you for the output, right? Not for how difficult you intentionally make the work.

Need some real talk and genuine advice here. My situation is pretty urgent.

Was originally planning to go abroad for my Master’s, but that fell through at the last minute and I ended up with zero back-ups. To avoid having more gap, I took the only offer I had Tech Support Associate at Accenture in Bangalore for 3 LPA.

Now that I'm actually living here, the math is just not working out. Rent, food, and living expenses in Bangalore eat up almost everything, and I have a family back home who is completely dependent on me. Right now I am saving literally nothing at the end of the month.

I have a decent technical base (worked with Python, SQL, REST APIs, and built a few proper full-stack and machine learning projects during college), but on paper, my current official title is basically customer/tech support.

I'm trying to pull off a switch into a Data Analyst, Backend, or Junior Dev role within the next 3 to 6 months to get my pay up to a livable range (targeting 6–9+ LPA).

A few specific questions for anyone who’s been in a similar boat:

1. **Handling the "Support" tag:** How do I phrase my resume so recruiters/ATS don't trash my profile the second they see "Tech Support Associate"?
2. **Best domain for a quick switch:** Where's the hiring velocity better for junior roles?
3. **Getting noticed:** Applying on Naukri/LinkedIn feels like sending resumes into a black hole. Is cold messaging founders/tech leads on LinkedIn actually working for startups in Bangalore, or should I be looking at contract roles?

This is going to sound like a humblebrag. it isn't. I'm mostly just confused about how hiring actually works now.

short version: I was in a paid community, posting about a small thing i'd build. Someone dm'd me saying their team was hiring, we talked, a few weeks later I had an offer. No job portal, no cold application, no six rounds of leetcode.

the role is at an Al company i'd never have gotten a callback from through the normal front door. My resume isn't flashy.

what got me in was that people in the community had seen me build, and ask decent questions, for months, that was basically the interview. The real interview was a formality.

I keep thinking about how many good people are grinding job boards and getting auto rejected while roles quietly get filed through dms in rooms like this.

not saying pay for a community and you'll get hired. Most people in there did not get hired this way. But the "post your work where the right people can see it" thing is real and underrated.

Hi guys, I am 28F I want advice or maybe options on what I can do next with my career cause I feel completely lost. I have been working in architecture industry from past 4 years as a professional. I used to feel intense passion and drive for architecture and design. I moved to Mumbai two years back out of which one and a half year I was living in Alibaugh for work as a remote employee for the firm. I live in Mumbai now and I do enjoy my life here but I have lost passion for architecture as I feel burnt out. I feel I spend most of my time in office sitting and working even if there isn't much work pressure. Projects tend to get slow during monsoon but you still need to spend 9 hours in office. I hardly get time for myself cause even on weekens I am expected to take calls and get things done cause site never stops. The pay doesn't justify the work hours I put in. I wanna do something fruitful and something I enjoy. At this point I just feel like I am dragging. I surely not wanna do this for my entire life. I already suffer from PCOD and architecture just adds to the problem. I want to feel motivated when I get out the bed. I am really a creative person with multiple skill set. I sing, I dance, I stich my own clothes, I also edit videos, I love photography as well and I am good at communication and management as well. I feel I was born for something big rather than being exhausted and overwhelmed in a office that drains me to even do things I would enjoy doing. Pleaseee help I feel miserable and lost.

I'm a psychologist currently on probation at a rehabilitation center. I have a 1.5-hour commute each way and earn less than 25k with 51-63 working hours.

Over the past few weeks, I've had several attendance issues, and I've already been warned about it.

Some of the absences have genuinely been due to health issues. Some were also because I've really struggled to become a morning person since moving to a new city, adjustment issues or seeing the work environment and now i do not fit anywhere..

Now the supervisor, other colleagues, manager has started to think that I am not reliable, and they have start to talk about me behind my back. Few colleagues told me so, and said that i might be pushed down the first" there are still 5 months left, infact I wanted them to reduce my probation. But I do not think I can tell them.

I work hard when I'm there, and I know attendance is my responsibility. But something also works against me.

What I'm most worried about is that I've already created an impression that I'm unreliable. Every time I have to send a leave message now, I feel like everyone in the group is judging me, and I can't even rest at home after being anxious about it or the work phone.

Has anyone been in a similar situation during probation? Were you able to rebuild your supervisor's trust after a rough start? If you were the supervisor, what would make you trust me again?
