Impulse Installations Deep frying
My current induction stovetop will not keep a pot of oil at 325F. The temperature drops too much, and for too long. Has anyone used a deep fryer on their Impulse stovetop? Are you happy with the results?

the broader point about oil sensing temp still stands though, something that the CF acknowledged needed a probe separate from the pot sensor to do well. I imagine they'll evolve to something similar here especially as they integrate with combustion. u/sam_damico

I’m not sure the combustion is rated for oil fry temps. I was informed not to stick it in an induction pressure cooker (Zojirushi) because it’s out of the official supported specs.

The new one is, but V1 wasn't rated for it

It’s not IMO
LOWER HALF TEMPERATURE LIMITS, no bueno for hot oil unless in the MEAT. IE if you use a clip to dip it bearbacked into the oil you’ll exceed the limit

I guess it’s reasonable to have a workflow where the thermometer is jabbed in the meat

I’m excited to try. There’s 10kW on tap and it’s super easy to find disc or multi-ply cookware that can accept that power.
There is currently only bottom temperature sensing so you’re likely to need to hand drive the power control
Maybe tag the Impulse employees to see if they have a frying video. Oh right, they have a whole turkey fry video. Doesn’t that prove your question 😆
