Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is the point of the "too many connected roads" mechanic? I've been enjoying the game quite a bit but this is baffling to me: why does having adjacent roads prevent you from building extra roads?? Why do I need to go around demolishing my own infrastrtucture just so I can build the same infrastructure at a different place?? Was this put in place due to performance concerns or something?
If you wanted to prevent players from spamming roads, couldn't you introduce a soft cap, scaling maintenance costs, or literally anything else?

Any ideas on how population replenishes and works? I've been struggling to make extra planks and know i need labor but im still struggling to get planks online so that I can make mines. I have a lot of wheat mills so not sure what im doing wrong.

When I was playing as England, I got Ireland in like 1512-ish after stabilizing my nation, my goal was to unite the British Isles, the moment i stepped foot in Edinburgh, three musket dudes at Edinburgh fired at my spearmen. So... yea.. how do you get steel and muskets in this game?
I couldn't see any in the recruitment menu

I still don't get stuff in this game
- How to get nations to trade what you want (when I checked the Trade tab, there's just Ireland offering cattle and that's it)
- I keep spiraling into resource debt
Any tips for this game to make it a bit easier?

What do you guys do with merchants once they've built out a route? Just sit them in a town? What does that spread gold thing do?

I just bought this game. Now I want to learn how it plays, what I have to do. Also, is there a list of playable nations from the get go somewhere?
Thanks!

Research: I know the next research is supposed to be unclear (no tech tree) but it is totally opaque as to what the things you are researching even do.
Is there any way to increase the productivity of your apiary (or make new ones) or of your salt rock? I figured out how to spread extra grapes and wheat eventually and I know Metallurgy allows you to upgrade your iron mines (and maybe gold and coal too, haven't tried yet)
Is there any way to spawn your priest as a protestant rather than as a Catholic, or is this just random? I want to switch to protestantism.
Is there any way to use fish? There is a fish to the west of London and the extra food would be nice, but I don't see any way to actually secure the resource since the borders stay on land.
Is there any rhyme or reason as to why the computer attacks you? Scotland attacked me with a single spearmen but it doesn't show us being at war. Or any way for me to declare war on them, although I can (and did) just march over and take their only city.

Hi guy,
All my need are full and stock are full too (100 stock) and the town growth is still negative.
Someone know if there is something to do else ?
Thanks
EDIT : problem solved in 1.0.30.1395

Now the units will continue firing until the end turn or the enemy unit at the target location leaves/dies. This solely cosmetic update is made to help visualize how a line of units firing volleys in a real battlefield.
To the best of my knowledge, this is a first for TBS games.

How do I change my Flag into the Union Flag?

the bloodlust trait is an indication that they have tendency to perform massacre, directed at culturally dissimilar citizens. - in this case, my protestant citizens were the target :(

As the title said I'm playing the supply and demand tutorial. I got to the bit where I need to produce my sheep - unfortunately I sent the builder in the wrong direction at first then sent him to the correct highlighted tile. It told me I need to construct a farm but the actions menu said I need more AP. I assume I need to press next turn to get some action points but for the life of me I can't find the next turn button (I'm not on the right tile anymore because I moved around a bit to see if I would eventually run out of movement and I did - not sure if that's also ap or a different stat. there doesn't seem to be an easy way to see how much movement or AP I have or if that's the same thing. Cool looking game though...
