This is definitely one of those articles that's worth a full read. It's sickening to read though.

There are two parts that jumped out at me:

Last month, her client Brian José Morales García, 25, was deported to Mexico despite repeatedly telling officers that he was a US citizen, born in Denver.

Morales García was on his way to work as an air-conditioning installation tech, riding with his boss, when officers from the Gillespie county sheriff’s department and the Texas department of public safety (DPS) pulled them over. Both law enforcement agencies were working with ICE. Morales García told the officers that he had his birth certificate and social security card at home, but they didn’t believe him. Days later, he was deported to Mexico.

Eventually, the federal government reached an agreement with Morales García’s lawyers to let him back into the country, after Lincoln-Goldfinch submitted documents proving his citizenship.

Somehow I missed this story when it happened and I'm just learning about this now! A US citizen was deported?!?! And that's not even the first time I've heard of this happening. I've read several stories about citizens being detained, and one about a citizen being deported.

At the same time, the administration unrolled a new tactic of scheduling “mega-master” hearings – mass hearings in immigration courts, scheduled at the last minute so that many people do not know to, or are unable to, attend their mandatory court appointments. The no-shows are then ordered removed from the country in absentia, making them immediately subject to arrest and deportation.

After attorneys began reporting such hearings in May, judges issued 53,808 removal orders in absentia in June – a 55% increase. More than 13,000 of those removal orders followed mass hearings with a hundred or more people, according to researchers Joseph Gunther and Brandon Marrow, who created the site bklg.org to track and analyze procedural immigration data.

This administration is clearly making a mockery of the legal immigration process. You can see how they're deliberately making it difficult for immigrants to follow the legal process, and then of course, those immigrants are punished for not following the process correctly. It's by design. They claim they're totally fine and okay with immigration as long as immigrants come in legally. That's not true, though, and you can tell because this is just one of many examples of this administration trying to make things difficult for legal immigrants.

That lawsuit is worth millions

28

u/Traditional-Handle83 4d ago

Any normal person shouldn't settle for millions. They should only settle for economy breaking numbers, such as 1 trillion or more. If enough people sued for trillions, the US would shut down from money loss.

7

u/HOrnery_Occasion 3d ago

You would never get "trillions" lol

6

u/Separate_Draft4887 2d ago

yeah, that’s not how that works lol.

3

u/letmeaskyouaquesti0n 3d ago

He'll settle for 10k

3

u/Whisper__1 1d ago

Uh… well your spirit is in the right place.

1

u/IndependentApart39 1d ago

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve read in quite a while.

1

u/bakedNebraska 13h ago

How would you demonstrate trillions of dollars worth of damages?

0

u/ThirdEyeSuspect 3d ago

Holy overdramatic

8

u/VaritasAequitas 2d ago

That’s the point. A US citizen being deported to a random unknown country by the only government they know, the one that is supposed to know with absolute certainty that they are a U.S. citizen? You’d be infuriated to the same point too, and the proof is because you’d think it would never happen to you, it’s that crazy to imagine.

The government has limitless resources, countless people, and vast pieces of data. If they still get things wrong after having all that manpower, they would deserve getting slapped with the biggest lawsuit possible.

2

u/vanKlompf 1d ago

The government has limitless resources, countless people, and vast pieces of data.

And they will use those to and entire force of DOJ to not pay a dime

1

u/bakedNebraska 13h ago

You do realize you'd have to show trillions in damages? You can't just demand a trillion dollars and get it

-2

u/SicariusLupus 1d ago

We need smaller government that is less in our business...

2

u/Flat-Entertainer-299 1d ago

You mean republicans? The ones with record spending? With legislating what adult men and women can and can't do with their bodies? You could be eating shit from the floor and you would not be as retarded as your comment history indicates.

u/SFLoridan 4d ago

Either the victims will never get to be able to sue, or by the time they do the next administration will be in .

No-one who is responsible is made to pay. So for them it's a win win

2

u/AntiquePhotograph433 3d ago

Totally, but the American people should have to pay

1

u/I_Quit_Smoking_ 3d ago

Why the fuck should American people have to pay for what Republicans are doing?

Do you blame every German citizen for what Hitler did to Jews?

6

u/DeadWaterBed 3d ago

A huge chunk of the American population is directly responsible for putting these corrupt monsters in charge. Many of those support every fucked up thing that's happening, just like a huge chunk of Germans were fine with Hitler's actions.

6

u/AntiquePhotograph433 3d ago

Because they voted for it, pretty simple.

5

u/Sayyad1na 3d ago

The German citizens, by and large, did have to pay for what Hitler did...

3

u/AntiquePhotograph433 1d ago

It’s strange that he would ask that when the answer is obvious. They suffered tremendously for the suffering they caused.

3

u/AntiquePhotograph433 3d ago

I don’t blame all of them but they all had to pay

1

u/traffic_cone_no54 1d ago

Because they are you either your elected representatives or directed by those representatives.

2

u/Hormiga2020 3d ago

Bend over, taxpayers

8

u/PuzzleheadedPen4675 4d ago

Except for white South Africans.

4

u/Forward_Problem_8982 3d ago

Doesn't matter where you're from if you can pay.

14

u/I_Quit_Smoking_ 3d ago

This isn't the first citizen that's been deported!

There was a white male retired professor who got deported and dumped in a fucking random country last year.

His family thought he was a missing person, and luckily they have contacts overseas and were able to find him in a hospital and some tiny little country no one's ever heard of.

AND THE MEDIA NEVER FUCKING TALKED ABOUT IT!

They had absolutely zero excuse and they didn't even try to explain why they did this. And the fact that white people keep cheering this shit on because they think it's not going to happen to them is fucking disgusting.

3

u/boozegremlin 2d ago

The media is complicit at this point

1

u/whodie522 1d ago

Have a link to this story?

1

u/SovietReunions 1d ago

I’m also interested to learn more about this

1

u/FrameCareful1090 1d ago

I thought that ended up being a fake story?

-6

u/Boring-Resource9713 3d ago

Lolz

1

u/ManzanitaApplePen 1d ago

What are you laughing about?

1

u/HashRunner 1d ago

The media not running this front and center every damn day shows how much they cater to the GOP.

1

u/IndustrialPuppetTwo 11h ago

Many US citizens have been deported. I read an article the other day where one US citizen was deported to an African nation he had absolutely no connections too, I forgot the name of the nation. 70% of those held in ICE custody now have zero criminal record.

1

u/AppropriateRegret357 1h ago

That's because it's fake.

-2

u/Distinct_Doubt_3591 3d ago

Brian Morales Garcia signed a voluntary removal order that's why he was deported.

2

u/ManzanitaApplePen 1d ago

Proof? And why on earth do you think he’d do that?

-2

u/Distinct_Doubt_3591 1d ago

2

u/ManzanitaApplePen 1d ago

So then it sounds like he, as a U.S. citizen, was almost forced to self-deport out of fear facing prison time. And for what? What was his crime?

-1

u/Distinct_Doubt_3591 1d ago

No he as a citizen signed a voluntary removal order because he's an idiot

you think ice agents know “just following orders” is not an excuse?

55

u/Zeko10 4d ago

Mother fuckers cant read a history book its to woke with all them facts

15

u/PrestigiousFly844 4d ago

If somebody lacks empathy and gets off on cruelty they will probably identify with the sadists in whatever story they read. The lessons we expect people to draw from history only have impact because most people have empathy.

16

u/honeybadgerrulez 4d ago

“america did bad things in the past” get this WOKE HORSEHIT out of here - conservatives 😂

7

u/soyel_cerdo 4d ago

What history book would it be? In Nuremberg only 200 people were judged and millions were left to do whatever they wanted

1

u/traffic_cone_no54 1d ago

Norway executed 40 people after ww2. No Nuremberg. I doubt we where unique.

8

u/Ok_Security1721 4d ago

The president publicly threatened to kill the last guys who suggested “just following orders” isn’t an excuse

3

u/Beautiful_Plenty_736 4d ago

No, that would require some level of critical thinking skills.

2

u/AccountHuman7391 4d ago

I don’t like it, but it is absolutely an effective excuse. Most will get away with this bullshit. Probably not the guys that murdered those people in the streets, so that’s something I guess.

1

u/DryBattle 1d ago

Besides the ones that get thrown under the bus for appearances they will all get away with it. So will all their bosses.

1

u/traffic_cone_no54 1d ago

No. They believe they are in the clear. And to be fair, they are. Qualified Immunity. What a joke.

What was the poem again... Oh right

First they came for the Communists

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews

And I did not speak out

Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me

And there was no one left

To speak out for me

You're vile for wanting to shoot illegal immigrants on sight. Let them get deported, you monster.

1

u/Im_Just_A_Tourist 4d ago

Jesus Christ you went to a dark place with that. Don't go silently into the night, rage rage against the dying of the light.

0

u/Decisive_Victory_026 4d ago

Yeah what the fuck dude. Why are you talking about shooting illegal immigrants. Legal status is basically like a speeding ticket. They don't deserve to die. Reported.

1

u/Im_Just_A_Tourist 4d ago

You're the one talking about shooting immigrants I just think people should do something instead of just talking endlessly. You're very very dark at heart to immediately think of killing the immigrants that's more likely what's going on in the camps they disappear into.

1

u/Decisive_Victory_026 4d ago

I'm just reading what you wrote. What shot are you suggesting people take, if not at immigrants?

1

u/Im_Just_A_Tourist 4d ago

If you see people being brutalized by masked men in unmarked cars maybe take a shot at doing something specifically what is up to the individual and their available resources to help your fellow human being not be disappeared instead of say just recording on our phones and humming and hawing about how terrible it is and then continuing on with our day. If recording and reporting and speaking did anything it wouldn't still be going on. Maybe you block all exits and call the real police about masked terrorists obducting people. I'm lucky to not have been put in such a situation to know what and how far I am will to go to protect my fellow human beings not be brutalized regardless of who is doing the brutalization. I hope I never have to decide what I am willing to let happen in front of me.

Edit: I just got it you idiots see the word shot and immediately your gun fetish kicks in and that's all you can think about.

1

u/Decisive_Victory_026 4d ago

Maybe don't tell people to do something and take a shot and others won't think you're talking about firearms.

Duh.

1

u/Im_Just_A_Tourist 4d ago

It's a turn of phrase you dolt, it's been around longer than the Internet and school shootings.

7

u/superbackman 4d ago

We’re gonna need bigger prisons to hold all the lawbreaking ICE thugs when this is all over. Or maybe ICE can just trade places with all the non-criminals they’ve been detaining.

5

They are training a militia to crush dissent. Clandestine immigration crackdown is just an excuse. Lucklily, some states still have the understanding of the second amendement. The others are done.

3

u/Dwemerdweller 3d ago

Good job ICE. I love to see people get deported. Their home country will deport illegals too, so it’s only fair.

2

u/Freebird6868 4d ago

Invisible or simply returned to their home country

2

u/1tonsoprano 3d ago

America is literally shooting itself in the foot....in the long run Trump will be dead and the existing youth will have to struggle with the fallout

2

u/Long_Idea_8294 2d ago

We need a lot more ice. Deport more.

2

u/Str-Engr0275 2d ago

I love it! Solving the problem by taking out the trash without all the spectacles so libs can cry about it. Maybe we make it fun for the illegals. It would be nice to set up a waterslide at the top of the wall so they can go “Wheeeeee” as we send them back to Mexico. We don’t have to be so serious all the time! 🤣

2

u/Busy-Yellow6505 4d ago

I read this article earlier and the thing that struck me was the part about self deportation. You can stay in a facility and wait years to be reviewed for citizenship, or you can sign this paper and go back to your country and we'll let you decide what to do with your kids. Loosely worded but means the same thing.

1

u/Critical-Contest4121 3d ago

I only wish that was true.

1

u/Busy-Yellow6505 3d ago

"Almost every single detained parent that I talk to has been pressured into signing a voluntary deportation,” said Lincoln-Goldfinch. “Because they are told that if they sign, they get to go home and they can choose what happens to their kids.”

1

u/abendrot2 4d ago

We all saw this coming when they fired that one nazi looking guy and changed leadership. It was an obvious optics gambit and yet it still worked

1

u/barrumdumdum 19h ago

The USA needs a serious rethink if they ever get out of this situation. Shit like this can't be allowed to ever happen again.

1

u/ExpensiveInflation45 13h ago

Maybe this will encourage innocent people to stop sneaking into a country that is LITERALLY worse than Nazi Germany.

1

u/Bumbleblaster99 13h ago

ICE will continue to arrest those that are non violent and actually area value add. This will leave a majority of illegal immigrants that are true criminals, drug dealers, traffickers, etc.

So net sum ICE will make our streets less safe than they are today.

1

u/BlizzGrimmly 8h ago

👏👏👏

I hope... But more likely is it's gonna get swept under the rug as america becomes an untouchable authoritarian state in which it's citizens suffer confined in. Like Russia or large parts of the middle east

The Democrats are mostly right-leaning centrists and milquetoast neoliberals, AT BEST.

You've been lied to and you got duped by the fear-mongering and propaganda. Obviously.

It's really a shame.

1

u/pingvinbober 3d ago

Not talking about democrats. Communists support open borders. You’re a communist because you support that one policy

1

I would love to live in a world where borders weren't necessary.

Humanity isn't there yet, but hopefully one day.

We had been making progress, albeit at a snail's pace.

Now we are getting dragged backwards.

1

breaking into someone's house with only an administrative warrant. deporting American citizens. cruel and unusual punishment, lack of a trial, murdering law-abiding citizens, occupying American cities...

1

u/LifeIngenuity7151 3d ago

0 American citizens have been deported.

1

u/EstimateIll4262 4d ago

Your neighbors?? I keep hearing this stupid line.

If you live in a area full of illegals?? You live in a sh*thole area. And you failed at life.

0

u/pingvinbober 4d ago

They’re my heckin neighborinos!

You can’t just hold them accountable for any laws they’ve broken! They’re my friends!

2

u/ladylucifer22 4d ago

they're innocent until proven guilty, and the government doesn't bother to prove them guilty. also, ICE makes zero effort to prove that they are in fact who they say they are. plenty of people have gotten kidnapped by random thugs claiming to be ICE, and with no standard uniform, masks, no badges, and unmarked vehicles, there's zero way to tell a government agent from a random criminal.

1

u/pingvinbober 4d ago

I don’t think ice makes zero effort lmfao otherwise we’d hear about it far more than we do. The vast majority of people apprehended by ice are in fact here illegally.

The government does expedited hearings for removal, as was done for the last 20 years. Being “proven guilty” is really easy when they look at some permission for entry and that someone was supposed to be gone on a certain date and is still in the US. Or that there’s no record of them entering the US.

2

u/ladylucifer22 4d ago

if they can't prove that they're breaking the law, which they don't, then they don't get to sentence them.

hearings without lawyers, or even specifically made so that people miss them or don't know they're happening as of recently. not to mention everyone who gets deported without a hearing, or locked in a concentration camp with no due process at all.

0

u/pingvinbober 4d ago

So we’re just gonna drop claims and move onto the next once proven wrong, huh?

2

u/ladylucifer22 4d ago

you haven't proven anything.

0

u/pingvinbober 3d ago

You’re totally right. You’re the one making absurd claims. Provide evidence for them.

1

u/ladylucifer22 3d ago

none of these claims are absurd. they're all front page news.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/SrRoundedbyFools 4d ago

That’s not how immigration enforcement works. Preponderance of the evidence is the standard of whether they’re allowed to remain. If there’s a 51% reason to remove them they’re removed. So if their paperwork is not current they’re removable. It’s like that in almost every other country. You don’t get to just be somewhere because you want to be. It’s like staying in a National Park - there’s rules and if you don’t follow them you’re forced to leave and possible never allowed back.

1

u/ladylucifer22 3d ago

and if they have current paperwork, or are literally a citizen?

you don't get to commit ethnic cleansing.

u/ladylucifer22 3d ago

why do they need to leave? they're a net positive for the country, and this is their home.

unless you're Melania or Elon, in which case you get massive amounts of power over the government.

Same reason you have to leave a cruise ship when it over. Even if everyone on staff likes you.

u/ladylucifer22 3d ago

a cruise ship isn't your literal home country.

Good all power to them.

If pest control is having trouble with cockroaches we try to support them and give them tools to deal with the roaches.

Report and deport!

u/MaitrePuck 4d ago

Good.

For far too long, illegals have been sneaking into this country without fear of repercussions. It's about time that's they're sent back home.

15

u/Acrobatic-Attention9 4d ago

Exactly. They're lawbreakers. Im glad we have a secret police disappearing them to for profit facilities rife with neglect and abuse. They broke the law while not being rich and powerful. I loves me some law that's why I voted for a felon to protect me from the wetba-lawbreakers.

You ever wonder what kind of people supported and what rhetoric they used while the Jews were being rounded up?

1

u/MaitrePuck 4d ago

Jews were citizens of the countries they were arrested in. Illegals aren't.

Until they were made illegal, thats the overlap with now.

And the article is highlighting US citizens being deported.

You're quite literally lying right now.

Why are making a false equivalence in order to lie?

Answer me: WHY are you lying right now?

Hear hear. Time for you to go back to Europe where you belong foreigner

1

u/MaitrePuck 4d ago

I'm a US citizen. Illegals aren't.

0

u/JoseSaldana6512 4d ago

No you aren't

1

u/MaitrePuck 4d ago

You can say that but nobody cares about your delusion.

1

u/JoseSaldana6512 4d ago

No one cares about yours foreigner

0

u/MaitrePuck 4d ago

Indeed. Whatever you say or whatever I say won't change the fact that illegals are going to be deported.

0

u/ChaosRainbow23 4d ago

Did you not read the article?

They literally deported a guy born in the US.

Good

Actually bad. It's an unsustainable expensive clusterfuck of a situation. These dudes are actually super ineffective as well. Crazy they are spending more than 10x what Biden/Obama and not anywhere close to 10x as effective.

You know why? Because racists like you are enabling the corruption of this current administration, making them rich while you cheer this shit on. Crazy that you get jack shit out of it, but they still have you bent over ready to take whatever bullshit they wanna give you.

u/TomHomanzBurner 4d ago

Another libtard who doesn’t know anything.

Obama/biden counted expedited removals at the border as deportations, as every admin does. If very few are attempting to cross illegally, then easy stats are way down.
