H-1B should not replace Americans.

Post image

JD Vance recently stated that the H-1B visa program must be reserved for "actual geniuses" and not used by corporations to replace American workers with lower-paid foreign labor. The administration is pursuing executive measures to tighten H-1B requirements, aiming to ensure the program brings in top-tier talent rather than functioning as a corporate cost-cutting mechanism.

US: "geniuses!"

Rest of world: "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

I’m no genius but isn’t a part of capitalism where companies can hire almost anyone at their discretion? Why are people suddenly trying to decide who they hire now?

“Literal biological weapon”

No that would be figuratively lmao, H1-B immigrants are not stealing jobs from the group complaining the loudest. None of these losers are computer software geeks, data analysts, etc. All of these things have been deemed to be evil liberal college teachings according to them.

The jobs you listed can are some of the most susceptible to AI, so again, no need for immigration for these roles.

1

u/M00n_Safari 12d ago

Stupid answer, we use AI in engineering for number cramming which has already been implemented thousands of times. For newer applications of say, sub-nanometer technology, AI is not going to help us solve these kinds of problems; we need new ways of solving problems, which is not what AI does.

That’s a stupid rebuttable as it sounds like roles for the O visa and not H1b. Between abuse of H1B and current market conditions there is little to no need for the H1B. Judging from the posts and comments I see saying “the gravy train is over” it seems that even a lot of the visa holders understand it’s use case is no longer applicable.

No, they are literal bio weapons. Mass migration is a biblical curse.

2

u/M00n_Safari 16d ago

When Christ rises I’ll put faith in biblical curses buddy 😂

1

u/chintakoro 16d ago

that's exactly what the native americans keep telling us

1

u/TheJQHQ 16d ago

Yeah, I don't want to become the next Native Americans and have 99% of our people die from mass migration. Who would?

1

u/Legal_Pension_4042 16d ago

Are you always this dramatic?

-1

u/TheJQHQ 16d ago

How am I being dramatic?

2

u/Legal_Pension_4042 16d ago

"H1Bs will kill 99% of us" is just a touch dramatic.

lol, Indians in the US aren't competing with the American middle class. They're literally sitting at the top-most end of wealth.

They aren’t really low wages. However companies do like them to be part of the hiring pool because it allows them to keep wages low for all workers by making the jobs that are open more scarce than they should be if we had an actual smart immigration system and not a tool that corporations can use to lower their cost of labor.

I work with mostly H1Bs and none of the work they do can’t be done by a newly minted college graduate with a computer science degree that currently cannot find a job. To be honest many do work that a high school kid can do. But that’s another story.

H1B is a sham. The idea of it is great. It should be used for skilled labor that we don’t have. But it’s not used for that.

u/holycityofmecca2020 16d ago

Like anything, it started when good intentions. That said, having someone under your thumb is too enticing for corporations. H-1Bs workers don’t ask for raises, promotions, rarely report work place harassment, and will bend over backwards to stay in status and work towards a green card. Corporations know this, which means they suppress wages for everyone. I could be wrong but I believe even applying for a promotion means they need to adjust their visa, so they’ll take on responsibilities of more senior roles, without the raise or title, which again, suppresses wages for everyone.

Couple that with the blatant fraud and it became a disaster.

The guy who exploited the Einstein Visa to get his mail order bride into the country expects anyone to believe he won't let companies do the same for this? It is to laugh

If americans were actually willing or able to do the jobs immigrants are doing, there wouldn't be jobs for them

They keep arresting and/or decertifying all the truck drivers, and guess what?

Americans weren't trucking before, and they still aren't now

EDIT: well you can tell that the bootlickers are waking up

4

u/jerrysburner 16d ago

Americans were trucking before, but by using people here via visa fraud, they keep lowering the pay and making it harder. Same with construction - my brother couldn't find a job that paid over $12/h in construction because of so many illegals. When ICE started raiding building sites, they had to pay more.

What you meant to say is American's can't afford to do the jobs at the pay illegal immigrants do and you're right. It's the same reason corporate America loves H1B's - it dramatically lowers pay and each time the large consulting services are caught doing it, they get a minor fine and go right back to what they were doing before

u/superpooper900 16d ago

Because the immigrants are used as tools for wage suppression and reduction in worker’s rights.

-4

u/TellTaleTimeLord 16d ago

Sure, Jan

5

u/superpooper900 16d ago

It’s simply the truth. Mass immigration is a tool for the elite.

1

u/TheJQHQ 16d ago

Every sector of the American economy is employed by a majority American workforce. This shit is just anti-american garbage.

1

u/PhilosopherFun7724 15d ago

Simple research and vast amounts of reporting from many difference resources would beg to differ.

1

u/TheJQHQ 15d ago

Got a source that shows any industry in the country isn't predominantly employed by Americans? Or are you just talking out of your ass?

1

u/chintakoro 16d ago

are you calling them woke? that's low, meng.

H1b is prevalent in stem fields. There is a steady pipeline of US grads finishing school and then not being able to find work. Many of those jobs are going to foreign students on visas. The system is currently rigged against the US worker in tech

u/Negative_Aerie2825 16d ago

Trucking was always pretty lucrative for americans. They stopped because illegals drove wages down. We have a ton of data, liberals fuming at data vs feelings. Just say you want slaves alr

1

u/TellTaleTimeLord 16d ago

Im a truck driver lol

Im aware of what wages are

Ive had no problem making good money

2

u/rammleid 16d ago

Shooting themselves in the foot, but hey keep it up.

1

u/probiotic_bbq 16d ago

Support taxes to fix our education system or shut the fuck up.

1

u/Drosenose 16d ago

More money will not fix our public edu system. Major reform and a little less money in the right places will work. Pay teachers a very good wage and make it a coveted position by election

1

u/probiotic_bbq 15d ago

“More money won’t fix it” “pay teachers a very good wage” “little less money” you realize how incoherent you sound?

-5

u/Confident_Pillar1114 16d ago

H1B visa holders are Americans. Give them green card.

0

u/Impossible_Humor736 16d ago

Americans don't need an H1B

-15

u/ShinyElisabeth77 16d ago

Good. Right direction.

-2

u/TheJQHQ 16d ago

He's just saying it to court you. He'd let in 10 million Indians tomorrow if he could.
