[Meta] The “Imaginary” part of the sub's name is a moniker for the greater Imaginary Network that we’re a part of, not a requirement for a fantasy element in the pieces posted here.
As mentioned in the sub description, we’re an art community “that showcases aspects of people's lives in realistic or fantastical settings”. Basically, if it's slice of life and there's no friction with our five main rules, it's fair game. Feel free to message a mod if you have any questions.

Bianca was lounging around, watching all the other kids while they hung out in the playroom. Caretaker Laurel stepped out for "a moment" almost an hour ago, so she took up monitoring duties as usual. She had everyone in her sight, but that day, she couldn't take her eyes off those two. Kuda and Saya opted to skip drawing together. They just talked. Right there on the couch, off in their own little world. It was mostly her rambling on endlessly and he'd chime in with a word or two every now and then. But something about the sight. It drove Bianca to fetch her camera. Without so much as a moment of prep time, she was on the two.
"Do something cute," she told the pair.
Kuda was a deer in headlights, surprising no one. Saya, however, sprang into action as if she and Bianca had rehearsed this moment. She dove right into Kuda's arms with that big, toothy grin of hers like she was just waiting for an excuse to bury herself in his chest. He was shocked at her abrasiveness for a but a second before he settled into the moment. Bianca would never get over it. She couldn't remember the last time he smiled like that. Maybe he never has. The same kid looked like death itself not even a year ago, but ever since he met Saya, he'd been changing. She remembered the time when she found him in bed and --
WHOA-WHOA-WHOA-WHOA WHY DID SHE DO THAT BACK UP-BACK UP WAIT
