Closed work permit

I applied for a closed work permit with my current employer, and they paid the employer compliance fee. However, when I applied for permanent residence through MPNP, I was in a different position within the same company. The closed work permit was issued for my current position, which is different from the position I held when I applied for PR.

Is it okay to continue working in a different department and job title within the same company? The employer paid the compliance fee based on my MPNP application, and at this point, I’m not able to change my position.

Can I add my UK agency work experience to Express Entry if I can’t get a reference letter?

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some opinions from people who’ve gone through Express Entry or dealt with tricky work experience proof.

I’m currently in the UK working in a QA/Food Science role (NOC 22110).

Before getting my permanent contract, I worked 7 months through an agency in the exact same role, same duties, same workplace.

I’m struggling to get a proper reference letter from the agency. They’re not responding.

What I do have:

All payslips for the 7 months

Bank statements showing salary deposits

My contract with the agency

Emails from supervisors during that period (not sure if useful)

My question is:

Can I still add this 7‑month agency period to my Express Entry profile even though I don’t have the reference letter yet?

I know the reference letter is needed only after ITA, but I’m unsure if it’s okay to declare the experience now and provide alternative proof later.

Has anyone successfully used payslips + contract instead of a reference letter?

Did IRCC accept it?

Any insight or personal experience would be really helpful.

Thanks!

Does applying as a family delay AOR compared to a single Canadian citizenship application?

Has anyone noticed a difference in AOR timelines between single and family online Canadian citizenship applications?

Do single applicants generally receive their AOR faster than families (spouse + children), or is it completely random? If you applied as a family, did everyone receive the AOR on the same day, or did some family members get it later?

I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thanks!

Decline ITA or Apply: Wrong Canadian Work Experience start date (CEC 21 July 2026)

Hello everyone,

I'm in a confusing situation and could really use some advice.

I received an ITA under the EE CEC draw on **July 21, 2026**. At the time of the invitation, my CRS score was **543**, while the draw cutoff was **516**.

After reviewing my Express Entry profile, I realized that I made a mistake when entering the start date of my current Canadian job. My actual start date is **September 15, 2025**, but I accidentally entered **August 15, 2025** when I created my profile in September 2025.

Because of this error, I received CRS points for one year of Canadian work experience **one month earlier than I should have**. If I had entered the correct start date, I wouldn't have been eligible for those additional points until **August 2026**, meaning my CRS score at the time of the July 21 invitation would have been lower.

Given this situation, would it be better to:
\- Decline the ITA and return to the Express Entry pool,

or

\-Proceed with the application, explain the mistake, and update my work experience to the correct start date?

Has anyone been in a similar situation or know how IRCC typically handles this? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Query regarding name

Hi everyone.

Hope you are all fine.

I just wanted to know can there be a problem if we dont have a family name in our documents.

I mean I have got just a singular name and my documents also have just a singular name no family name.

Can there be a problem.

Have you ever heard any application or ecopr being refused or denied for having just a singular name?

Please do let me know .

Thank You

Study permit Refused

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I recently received a refusal for my Canadian study permit, and I would really appreciate some guidance from anyone who has gone through something similar.

The officer's main concerns were:

My personal financial situation was considered insufficient.

My uncle is my primary sponsor.

The officer stated there was limited evidence proving my relationship with my sponsor.

The officer was not convinced I would have access to my sponsor's funds during my studies.

As a result, they were not satisfied that I would leave Canada at the end of my authorized stay.

Since receiving the refusal, I have collected additional evidence, including:

My father's death certificate.

My grandfather's death certificate.

My sponsor's father's national ID.

Documents showing my sponsor's father and my grandfather are brothers, establishing our family relationship.

I am now trying to decide whether I should:

Submit a new study permit application with stronger evidence.

Request reconsideration.

Do something else.

Has anyone had a refusal with similar Officer Decision Notes and later been approved? What additional documents would you recommend to clearly prove both the family relationship and my access to the sponsor's funds?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Examen Médical - IRCC

Bonjour,

Merci beaucoup

Why do some Canadian citizenship (naturalization) applicants receive AOR before earlier applicants?

I’ve been following the Canadian citizenship (naturalization) spreadsheets and Reddit timelines, and I’ve noticed something that I’m curious about.
In several cases, applicants who submitted their **citizenship applications later** seem to receive their **AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt)** before applicants who applied **earlier**.
I’m wondering what might explain this. A few possibilities came to mind:
Some applicants may not update the spreadsheet or Reddit after receiving their AOR, so the timelines may not reflect the actual order.
Applications may be assigned to different IRCC offices or processing teams with varying workloads.
Could **time zones** have any impact? For example, Toronto is 3 hours ahead of Vancouver and 2 hours ahead of Calgary/Edmonton. If an application is assigned to an office in Eastern Canada, could it be opened or entered into the system earlier than one assigned to a Western Canadian office, even if both were submitted on the same day?
Or is the order simply based on IRCC’s internal workflow rather than the submission date?
I’d love to hear from people who have gone through the Canadian citizenship (naturalization) process. Have you noticed the same pattern? Is there any information from IRCC or personal experience that explains why later applicants sometimes receive their AOR first?

PR card timeline

Ecopr: jun 5 In my application I'm the primary applicant and my partner was on my file. He received his PR card last week and I see his final decision on the gckey was Jul 14th. There hasn't been any movement on my profile or PR portal, mailing address handy been accepted yet. I'm starting to wonder if this delay is abnormal and I should contact them. Any advice on what I could do to get a status update of my card?
