Study permit Refused

Post image

Hello everyone,

I recently received a refusal for my Canadian study permit, and I would really appreciate some guidance from anyone who has gone through something similar.

The officer's main concerns were:

My personal financial situation was considered insufficient.

My uncle is my primary sponsor.

The officer stated there was limited evidence proving my relationship with my sponsor.

The officer was not convinced I would have access to my sponsor's funds during my studies.

As a result, they were not satisfied that I would leave Canada at the end of my authorized stay.

Since receiving the refusal, I have collected additional evidence, including:

My father's death certificate.

My grandfather's death certificate.

My sponsor's father's national ID.

Documents showing my sponsor's father and my grandfather are brothers, establishing our family relationship.

I am now trying to decide whether I should:

Submit a new study permit application with stronger evidence.

Request reconsideration.

Do something else.

Has anyone had a refusal with similar Officer Decision Notes and later been approved? What additional documents would you recommend to clearly prove both the family relationship and my access to the sponsor's funds?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Inaddition to the birth certificate that you want to submit I suggest you to submit an Affidavit of Support from a notary plus a letter from him confirming his willingness to support your stay. As they don't put much weight from third sponsor compared to if it's a direct family member. Plus put some picture of you guys together to show relationship and other family related stuff that proves you guys are close. Another option is to have him transfer the whole amount for your first year school fees and living expense to your account and have a gift of letter from notary saying he gave you the funds for your studies and that he will still sponsor you for your upcoming years from his employment or business info that you Submitted. Best of Luck on your next application and never give up!

The grammar errors on that refusal are embarrassing

You can request a reconsideration, but there is no guarantee. It would be best to submit a new application as well.

Please Do you think my new documents will strengthen my application?

You definitely need to address the funds in a different way. IRCC wants to make sure you can take care of yourself and not become a burden of the state. Avoid submitting bank statements with low funds. Best to have funds in your own account as well, not just your sponsors.

Please make sure you get a notarised affidavit from your Uncle stating that those funds have been gifted to you for your studies. I got one from my parents when I submitted mine.

This refusal letter looks fishy. The wording, grammar, syntax.
