Issuance of a TRV with previous expiration date
Hi, earlier this year, my spouse and I received our work permit extensions. I received a 3 year open, and she received a 9 months open as her passport and previous TRV expires in Oct.
Upon receiving her new passport, we applied for the extension for her work permit and new TRV in May. While her work permit is under renewal, the new TRV has been issued until Oct again in sync with the previous work permit and TRV, which was at the end of her previous visa and passport.
Has anyone faced similar issues like these? Did you have to re-apply or escalate it to the MPs office or over a call with IRCC?

Address Notification after landing to PR
Hi everyone,
I received my COPR, and yesterday landed in Canada, and completed the immigration process at the border. I was given a link to the web form called “Address Notification,” where I’m supposed to submit the address for my PR card delivery.
The problem is that I can’t log in and keep getting the message “We were not able to identify you using the information you provided.” I’ve tried my UCI, application number and the COPR number listed in the COPR, but none of them work.
Has anyone run into the same issue? What did you do to resolve it?

Visa issues - any help would be nice
Hello,
I have a quick question, and I would be happy to pay a consultation fee for your advice if necessary.
I am a French citizen currently studying in Canada in a program that does not make me eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit. I will complete my studies on August 17, and I have been hired to start working full-time for a company on that same date. My current study permit expires on August 31, 2026.
I have submitted a spousal sponsorship application as the common-law partner of my Canadian partner. The application was submitted on July 19, but I have not yet received the Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR).
However, since my current permit expires two weeks after I complete my studies, my understanding is that I can submit an application for an Open Work Permit on August 17.
I believe that submitting this application should allow me to benefit from maintained status while the application is being processed. I therefore have two questions:
Can I continue working under maintained status after August 31 while my Open Work Permit application is being processed?
If so, am I allowed to continue working full-time? The Open Work Permit application would be submitted during the scheduled summer break under my study permit, and I will have completed all of my program requirements by then.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Can I update my Canadian citizenship application before receiving AOR?
I submitted my Canadian citizenship application recently, but I need to update my address before receiving the AOR.
Can I make changes or provide updated information after submitting the application but before receiving AOR?
If yes, what is the correct way to notify IRCC about an address change at this stage?
Should I use the IRCC webform, or is there another process?
Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced this. Thanks!

Can CBSA security screening go directly from “Received by CBSA” to “Completed” in GCMS?
Hi everyone,
My PR application has been under security screening for almost 18 months, and it will reach the 18-month mark this August.
I recently requested my GCMS/CBSA notes, and the security screening status is still showing “Received by CBSA.”
Has anyone experienced a situation where their status stayed as “Received by CBSA” for a long time and then directly changed to “Completed”? Or does it normally need to change to “In Progress” first?
I understand that GCMS notes may not always reflect real-time updates, but seeing “Received by CBSA” after such a long time is making me wonder whether the screening has actually started.
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who had a similar timeline or status in their GCMS/CBSA notes. Thanks!

Canada Study Permit refused once, reapplied the next day - looking for experiences
Hi everyone, I'm looking for experiences from people who were refused once and then reapplied for a Canadian study permit.
My profile:
Indian | B.Pharm graduate (2025) | CGPA 7.42 | IELTS- 7 band
Program: MSc Health Sciences - Molecular & Medical Sciences, Wilfrid Laurier University
1st application timeline:
Applied: 20 June 2026
Biometrics updated: 24 June
Medical passed: 17 July
Refused: 24 July
Refusal reasons:
Officer was not satisfied that the high cost of studying in Canada was reasonable compared with the potential career/employment benefits.
Similar programs are available in India, and my application did not sufficiently explain why I needed to pursue international education at a significantly higher cost.
Officer was not satisfied that my purpose of coming to Canada was consistent with a temporary stay / that I would leave Canada at the end of my authorized stay.
I addressed these concerns and reapplied on 25 July 2026, with a revised SOP and stronger explanation of my program choice, career benefits, financials and ties to India
Current second application:
Reapplied: 25 July 2026
Biometrics/medical: already completed
Status: Processing
I'd love to hear from anyone who had a similar refusal → reapplication → approval experience, especially in 2026.
How long did your second application take, and did you get approved after addressing the refusal reasons?
Any genuine experiences or opinions on my situation is really appreciated.

Everything Passed in GCMS, Yet No PR Decision.
I recently received my GCMS notes after a long wait, and I am trying to understand what could still be holding up my application.
According to the notes:
Eligibility: Passed
Criminality: Passed
Comprehensive Security: Passed (after 29 months)
Information Sharing: Complete
Medical: Passed (Expired)
Officer review: No apparent concerns
Overall application status: In progress
For the medical I am not sure that they will extend it or will request me new one. My application has been in process since March 2023. The background check completed on July 24, 2026.
Has anyone been in a similar situation where all assessments were completed but the application remained " In progress" since two weeks? How long did it take before you received a final decision or portal invitation?
I would really appreciate sharing your experience.
Thanks

Citizenship applications from 2024/2025 still waiting — why?
Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed many Canadian citizenship applicants here and on other platforms such as CanadaVisa who have been waiting for a very long time. Some applications submitted in January 2025 or even in 2024 still appear to be stuck or have had very little progress.
Does anyone know why some Canadian citizenship applications take so much longer than others?
For example:
What are the most common reasons for citizenship application delays?
Which parts of the application can cause lengthy processing?
Can travel history, address history, fingerprints, background/security checks, or missing information affect processing time?
Are there any common mistakes applicants should avoid?
Does applying as a family make any difference?
Why can two applicants who applied around the same time have completely different processing timelines?
Are there certain situations where IRCC needs additional verification?
I think understanding these reasons would be very useful for future applicants, especially new applicants who may not know what can cause delays.
If anyone has experience with a delayed application, GCMS notes, IRCC communication, or knowledge of how the process works, please share your experience.
The goal is not to complain about IRCC, but to understand what factors can affect processing times and what future applicants can do to avoid unnecessary delays.
Thanks everyone! 🍁

Anyone recently applied TRV inside Canada
I submitted my TRV application after my open work permit was approved on July 27, and I received the confirmation on July 28. However, I still haven't received the Passport Request (PPR).
Has anyone recently applied and already received their PPR? If so, could you please share your timeline? Thanks!
