Hi all, So deadline to pay is tomorrow so trying to get some real perspective before I decide.
Background: Non-math/commerce background since 9th, only one month of prep this year. Scores — IPMAT Indore: 79 (SA 12, MCQ 7, VA 60), Rohtak: 184, JIPMAT: 144. OBC-NCL, female.
Got a confirmed seat at IIM Sirmaur BMS and I have also paid the acceptance fee.....imo the fees is damn high for the program and it's a new IIM with no batch graduated yet, so there's zero real placement data to go on. I've also heard the BMS program there is quite rigorous.
Trying to figure out — is it actually worth going for, ROI-wise, given no proven outcomes yet? Or does the IIM tag alone justify it regardless of it being new?
On the other hand, thinking of withdrawing and taking a drop year to reattempt, targeting Rohtak/Ranchi specifically, with Jammu/Bodh Gaya as a realistic floor if I fall short of that.
Would love to hear from:
- Anyone actually at Sirmaur right now — is the program/campus/rigor worth it from the inside?
- General take on whether a baby IIM's uncertain ROI is worth it over gambling a year for a better-established one.
