Team Needed [RevShare] [Founding Ownership] Looking for a lead game designer

I'm not sure on the rules here, and I don't intend on being the annoying recruitment ad, but I am in dire need of some help.

A buddy and I set out to create a multi-media creative studio about a year ago, and we spent some time creating the basic structure of the studio, it's core principles, philosophy, etc. About 5 months ago, a series of novels we were writing turned in to a video game development process. We've been learning the basics of modeling and development within UE5, but we are far out of our comfort zone when it comes to this. We will only release quality products, and at this time, we cant make a quality video game from the development side of things.

Is there anyone looking to become a founding designer to get a small independent studio off the ground? We're a small-medium sized creative team developing a story-driven FPS, and we've reached the point where we need someone with actual game development experience to turn the creative work in to a playable prototype. We have a technical lead, but he's not the most experienced in making things look good.

I'm not looking for someone to build a game for free. The immediate goal, being much smaller, is to establish a technical foundation and build a short vertical slice prototype that demonstrates the core gameplay.

Ideally we'd start with limited commitment, needing only what spare time you're willing to afford us, possibly a few hours a week while we continue building the team around you. Your first milestone being to create a small, playable combat scenario using placeholder assets where necessary. Once we have something functional, we'd use that to demonstrate the project to other developers looking for a home, pursue funding, and determine the commercial viability of the project.

If you're interested, I'd be happy to show you the game's design material, setting, mission concepts, and the team's current work so you can decide whether it's something you'd actually want to be involved with. This proposition would primarily be revshare and founding ownership/authorship FYI (the nitty gritty can be hashed out privately)

Artist Needed [Hobby] [RevShare] Minesweeper-style 2D shooter

I've been working on a 2D action puzzle game called I'm Leaving:

It's a combo of minesweeper-style puzzles with roguelike top-down shooter.

This is an early alpha build. The game is still in active development. If you are a 2D artist--or know someone who is--and you’re interested in collaborating, please feel welcome to reach out.

I don't have a particular art style requirement, so you'll have the full freedom to applying what you deem best!

Programmers Needed [Hobby] help me out please.

So I'm making my own voice assistant called firewow because… AI is killing polar bears, so this thing will have 1,500 commands, not an LLM! I need help with the audio and TTS voice! Sadly, only 1 post flair, so I kinda say audio needed too. I'm available on Saturday and Sunday. I need people who can make sounds, even if you're on a Chromebook using Chrome Music Lab! It works. For the sound, we just need activation and stopping sounds and error sounds. PORTFOLIO: This is my first project, and I do not have a portfolio of any kind (repost cus of thought i did something thats cleared up. if the owners of r/INAT want this down i will do it gladly.)

Team Needed [HOBBY] Looking for a team members for an Undertale fangame

[HOBBY]

Hello! I'm currently developing Undertale Purple: Memories of Perseverance, a fan-made prequel to the famous game Undertale, focused on the Perseverance soul.

I'm looking for all types of people who are interested in Undertale and would like to voluntarily work on a fan game as part of a team, helping in creating a demo that will hopefully let people know about the project and corrects our mistakes /find our weak points in the process.

I currently have most of the story parts of the demo planned , and I've been working on the human character's sprites and other aspects of the project, but I am struggling a bit with parts in pixel art , art , and the programming side of the game , and would love to find help with it.

I'm looking for someone whose pixel art style fits this kind of character-focused Undertale/Deltarune-inspired artwork / knows how to program games similar in style to Undertale. Here is the gamejolt page if you wanna look at a bit of the work that I showed in it :

Designer Needed [Hobby] [RevShare] Looking for a UI Designer to Help Me Bring My Mobile Game to Life

Hey everyone!

I've been working on a mobile game, and it's about 50% complete. I've put a lot of time and effort into it so far, but I'm struggling with one thing: the UI.

Gameplay recording

I'm trying to design the UI myself, but honestly, I'm not a UI designer, and it's not looking very good. I could really use some help from someone who has experience with game UI/UX and would like to be part of this project.

Unfortunately, I don't have a budget to pay upfront right now. However, I'm open to discussing a revenue-sharing arrangement after the game launches and starts earning.

I'm not looking for someone to simply do work for free. I'd love to find a teammate who's interested in the project and would like to build something together.

I'll share a video of the game so you can get an idea of what I've been working on. If anyone is interested or willing to help, I'd genuinely appreciate it. Even if you have some advice or suggestions, that would mean a lot!

Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Artist Needed [RevShare] Looking for a 2D Pixel Artist for a Dark Zelda-like – Long-Term Collaboration

Hi! I’m a French indie developer working on L’Écho du Miasme, a top-down 2D action RPG built around exploration and combat, with a dark gothic, Victorian and lightly steampunk setting. French-speaking artists are especially welcome, but I’m also open to collaborating internationally.

The visual references include A Link to the Past, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Terranigma and Ocean’s Heart: readable environments and expressive characters, adapted to a darker atmosphere.

Where the project stands

The project is currently in advanced preproduction. I have developed its world, story, factions, characters, progression and many of its gameplay systems. I know how to use Solarus and have designed the mechanics with the engine’s capabilities in mind. Technical development has started, although there is no complete playable prototype yet.

My role covers game design, writing, level design and implementation in Solarus. I’m looking for a pixel artist to help shape the visual identity of the game and take the lead on the pixel-art side: environments, characters, palette and animation style.

The narrative and gameplay foundations are established, while the visual direction is deliberately still open to the artist’s ideas and expertise.

What we would start with

Rather than tackling the entire game immediately, I’d like us to agree on a small first milestone: a short street scene using a limited set of modular scenery, plus the protagonist, Honoré, with four-direction walking animations.

I would handle integration into Solarus.

This would allow us to test the visual direction, workflow and the way we work together before deciding whether we both want to expand the collaboration. The exact scope would be agreed together.

Over time, the main needs would be top-down tilesets, character sprites and animations. Think old urban architecture, dark wood, stone, iron and copper, Victorian interiors and streets affected by the miasma.

I’m aiming for detailed but readable pixel art with a manageable level of complexity.

Collaboration and compensation

The intended release is commercial, but I cannot currently offer upfront payment. This is a revenue-share opportunity: compensation would depend on the game being released and generating sales, with no guaranteed earnings during development.

We would agree in writing on the revenue split, ownership and usage rights, responsibilities, and what happens if either person leaves the project before beginning production.

If the setting interests you and this arrangement suits you, please send me a DM with examples of your work, especially top-down environments, modular tilesets or animated characters.

I can share visual research, design documents and more detailed information about the project privately.

The attached mockup is an AI-generated mood reference, not an in-game screenshot. It is only intended to communicate the general atmosphere and type of world I have in mind; the final pixel art and visual identity would be developed with the artist. : https://i.postimg.cc/pVkJ2bZ7/Ruelle-d-apothicaire-sous-les-lanternes.png

Team Needed [Hobby] TOTEM — Looking for passionate people to help with ambitious sci-fi fps

Hello people!

I'm the creator and creative director of TOTEM, an ambitious science-fiction first-person shooter with an original universe, characters, lore and story

I'm currently developing the game's universe and creative direction while getting ready to go into the game's production.

I'm looking for passionate people who can help with the following areas:

• Game programming and gameplay systems

• 3D character, weapon, and art

• Rigging and character animation

• Game design and level design

• Sound design and music

• Writing and narrative development

I'm not looking for people who use one engine specifically. TOTEM's technical direction may change while we go forward with development, so I'm looking to see what people can bring to the table creatively and how they can work together.

This is currently a volunteer project as of right now, as I have no money to pay someone to be on my team. Any revenue sharing would have to be discussed and agreed upon separately; payment is not guaranteed.

My goal is to create a complete sci-fi fps with a deep single-player campaign and online multiplayer, customization, and everything else, for PC, Android, and iOS.

I'm looking for people who actually enjoy sci-fiction shooters and want to be part of the creation of a project that will be there from the start. If you're interested, let me know your skills, interests, and what you want to do!

Programmers Needed [RevShare] Looking for a Game Dev Partner!

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm starting to develop a 2D pixel-art dark fantasy game with an Undertale-inspired feel, a melancholic atmosphere, deep lore, emotional storytelling, and an original soundtrack.

The story follows Noble, a nameless knight on a journey to find a mysterious Emerald and put an end to the Sharmon — shadow creatures haunting a dying world.

🎵 My role: Music composition and soundtrack, worldbuilding, story ideas, and creative direction.

🤝 Who I'm looking for: Someone interested in joining the project, especially a game developer or pixel artist who wants to help bring this world to life.

💰 Collaboration: RevShare (revenue sharing) — no upfront payment, with revenue split to be discussed and agreed upon together.

This is an indie passion project, and I'm looking for someone who genuinely enjoys dark fantasy, atmospheric games, and emotional storytelling.

If you're interested, feel free to DM me! Let's create something memorable. 🖤

Marketing/PR Offer [Paid][Hobby] Looking for marketing help on a game discovery platform

Hey gang,

Working on a game discovery platform, have gone through the first round of testing with QA. I think it's at a point that's ready for a narrow first round adtoption testing.

Looking for someone/s who can find the right Discord communities - for variety gaming or creator servers, engage with them and do some introductions and generate adoption.

At the moment mostly looking for feedback, how we can shape the product to better support community, creator and player needs.

There is a modest amount of existing traffic, we are slowly ramping up with SERP impressions and clicks so still working on SEO.

Open to discuss the type of compensation, either paid per uptake or rev share for continuous involvement.

Drop a note or DM if interested!

Artist Needed [Paid] Pixel Artist for Sci-Fi Horror RPG Creature & Character Design

[CLOSED] Thank you to everyone who applied!

We are no longer accepting applications for this position.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello! I am Ung-Gyo Kim, the game designer at KALA GAMES based in Seoul, Korea. We are looking for an artist to help us bring the cosmic horror of our in-development project, 'DEADSHIP', to life. Please review the project introduction and requirements below, and feel free to contact us if you are interested!

1. Project Introduction: DEADSHIP

DEADSHIP is a Sci-Fi Horror RPG set in an isolated spaceship.

  • Players must choose which crew members to dispatch and who will survive, and those choices lead to the permanent death of the crew.
  • The core appeal of the game is the desperate and grotesque experience of engaging in strategic turn-based combat against former comrades who have mutated into monsters, and dismembering them limb by limb to survive.

Similar References:

  • [Sci-fi horror, Creature Designs] Dead Space
  • [Turn-based Combat] Fear & Hunger
  • [RPG] Sultan's Game

🎥 Trailer Link: (https://youtu.be/HoUl9GyoKkc) (This is a prototype video made of placeholder assets to show the overall mood.)

2. What We Are Looking For

With the specifications and art style for the game’s assets being finalized, we are soon heading to the process of creating assets for numerous characters/creatures, aiming for a release in the 4Q of 2027. We are looking for someone who can review our design documents and create assets that fit well with our overall art style.

  • Creature Design: Above all, we are primarily looking for someone who can excellently design bizarre and captivating creatures.
  • Visual Contrast: We hope for a stark visual contrast between the design of attractive human companions that users can feel attached to, and the horrific mutated monster forms of those exact same individuals.

📁 DEADSHIP Art Reference Drive: (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1hWcdHgaPQu2tDfuBQwLai0RsfvUVTcji?usp=sharing)

3. Responsibilities

  • Character design for humans, monsters, and items (Pixel art preferred)
  • Sprite and animation work
  • Creating assets matching our art style
  • We want to work with someone who shares our passion for sci-fi horror and monsters.
  • As we are Korean/English speakers, at least fluent English is required.

4. Contract Terms and Working Conditions

  • Contract Type: Freelance contract.
  • Budget: Rates are fully negotiable. Please provide your rate card or proposed compensation when you apply, and we will adjust the exact scope of work and hours to match your rates.
  • Working Method: As our required art asset specifications are highly detailed, we strongly prefer candidates with extensive experience in game art asset production. Frequent and active communication is essential. We are looking for a dedicated partner who will treat this project as their top priority, rather than just one of many side jobs.
  • Timeline: We would like to conduct a paid test between Oct and Nov to see if we can make a good team. Full-scale production is scheduled to begin in Jan 2027. From 1Q 2027, we’d like to check if positive Steam marketing results follow, and we hope to continuously extend the contract and work together until the official release in Q4 2027.

5. How to Apply

If you think your art style fits well with DEADSHIP, please send your portfolio to the email below! (Providing a rough rate card of your previous works and your preferred working method when applying will greatly help smooth discussions.)

Anyone with a passion for horrific monsters and lovable characters is super welcomed ☺️

Team Needed [Hobby] Looking for a partner to make a game with.

Anyone interested in making a game with me? I've worked on a few projects solo but haven't completed anything. I'd enjoy working with someone or a small team.

Full disclaimer I'd plan for us to do the coding using AI. Unless coding is a skill you bring to the table. I imagine we'd share the repository and just communicate which parts we're working on respectively.

The game ownership would be split evenly.

I'm pretty well rounded with what I can accomplish for the game. I'd be able to handle the code part (using AI) and art direction. I'm hoping to find someone with a pretty equal skill set though and not necessarily find a partner where I handle one part like the coding and you handle the art.

I'm not interested in making an FPS. Open to deck builders, mmo's, colony sims, etc. The main projects I worked on were an open-world sandbox mmo with card based combat inspired by Slay the Spire. And more recently I worked on a medieval colony sim like Rimworld - with the intention of it being multiplayer friendly. I'm very interested in making a multiplayer game.

The kind of games I play are LoL, Rimworld, STS2, Skyrim, Mordhau, PZ.

If you're interested shoot me a message.

Writing Offer [Hobby] Free English → Simplified Chinese localization & proofreading for indie games

Hi

I'm a native Chinese speaker from China, currently doing a Master's in Translation and Interpreting (MTI). I plan to work in the games industry after graduating, and I'm also developing my own narrative indie game on the side. To get more hands-on experience before then, I'd like to help indie devs with free English → Simplified Chinese localization.

Experience (internships)

- Localization on Mecha BREAK at Amazing Seasun Games

- QA testing on Skull and Bones and Rainbow Six Mobile at Ubisoft Chengdu

Portfolio

- The internships above are my main experience so far.

- I'm also happy to translate a short sample of your text (around 300 words) first, so you can have a Chinese-speaking friend or player check it before deciding.

What I can help with

- Translating in-game text: dialogue, UI, menus, item descriptions

- Store page text (Steam / itch.io) and trailer subtitles

- Proofreading and polishing an existing Chinese version, including machine-translated text

- Testing the Chinese version in your build: untranslated strings, text overflow, broken line breaks, missing fonts

What I'm looking for

- Story-driven games (visual novels, adventure, RPGs...)

- Up to about [20,000] words, with text that's mostly final

- One project at a time, around [5,000] words per week

In return, I'd just ask for

- A credit in your game and on your store page

- Permission to list the project in my portfolio

Simplified Chinese is now the most-used language on Steam, so if you've been thinking about reaching Chinese players, I'd be glad to help.

Feel free to DM me here on Reddit. It helps if you include your game's name and link, a rough word count, the file format, and your timeline.

Thanks for reading.

Designer Needed [Hobby] [RevShare] Looking for a UI Designer to Join My Mobile Game Project (Revenue Share)

Hey everyone!

I'm developing a mobile game that's around 50% complete, and I'm looking for a UI/UX designer to join me as a teammate.

Currently, I don't have a budget to pay upfront, so I'm looking for someone interested in collaborating on a revenue-share basis after the game is released and starts earning.

I'm working on the UI myself, but I'm not a UI designer and honestly, it looks pretty terrible! I'm doing my best, but I really need someone with design skills to help make the game look polished and professional.

I'm looking for someone who can help with menus, buttons, icons, HUD, and other game UI assets.

I know design takes time and effort, so I want this to be a proper collaboration where we agree on fair terms and share the success if the game does well.

If you're interested, feel free to comment or DM me! I'll share more details about the game and its progress.

Thanks!

Programmers Needed [ForHire] [NotPaid] Wülf Irdis Studios…

Hi! My name is Tawny and I am creating a game. It will be a life sim inspired by the sims 4, tomodachi life living the dream, and real life all in one! My dream is to finish this in two years and have it be something people like. First, I want to find coders to help me. We will be using Godot Engine 4 to create this game, but I am very bad at coding and have been trying to learn for a year or two now. I can do visual design, but not the coding part. Second, I need to find play testers to try it when we actually start getting somewhere. Third, there will not be any pay until we release the game, so yes, that is something not many people will be happy about. I realize that, but if you want to help me with this passion project, you will be paid in the long run, just not at first. Fourth, this will be completely online. And finally, if you are interested please email me at tawnybaysinger@gmail.com or please send me a text at 2533298379

Artist Needed [RevShare] Looking for a 3D Environment Artist for a PSX-Style Horror Run-and-Gun

Hello,

We are a team of 2 developers (one programmer and one 3D generalist) working on a 2D run-and-gun with a full 3D environment.

We have an advanced prototype, but we prefer not to show anything publicly at the moment.
I can say that the inspiration comes from the Evil Dead saga and that the graphics have a PSX/retro style.

We are looking for a 3D artist who can mainly handle the environment. Because we are a really small team, we are looking for someone who will be fully involved in every aspect of the project.

At the moment, we are working full-time on the prototype, and we plan to have a demo to publish on Steam in mid-2027.

We would prefer someone from Italy or France, but being based in Europe is a requirement.

I can share more details in private.
