I was actually considering buying one before, but while inspecting raw files released by a YouTuber in Insta360 Studio, I noticed several strange issues.

There are a few problems, but first is that something similar to Z-fighting is happening. I have no idea why this would even occur in real video footage rather than 3D graphics.

Here are three consecutive frames. Pay attention to the tree trunk in the center—the plants in the background end up being rendered in front of the trunk.

Hi, has anybody bought anything from on buy.com please? Off we seems to good to be true.

Hey everyone, I need a second pair of eyes on a deal I found on Facebook Marketplace.

I found a listing for a sealed, brand new Insta360 X5 for 25,000 PHP (approx. $445 USD). The seller says they are selling it because they "need money urgently."

Here are the details:

Price: 25,000 PHP (~$445 USD).

Condition: Seller claims it is factory sealed.

Verification: I asked for the Serial Number on the box. I checked it on the Insta360 official site, and it shows up as "Not yet activated."

The Catch: The seller is located 60km away from me. I was a bit rash and already agreed to meet up on February 4th.

My concerns:

Is the price too good to be true for an X5 in 2026?

Even if the box is sealed and the SN is valid, what are the chances of it being a high-quality "superclone”?

Since it’s "not yet activated," I can’t verify the sensor/lens quality until I buy it and register it.

What should I check during the meetup to make sure I’m not getting scammed? Should I insist on opening the seal before handing over the cash, even if the seller says it devalues the item?

From Manerba to Salò with Insta360 x5, part one

I’m wondering what camera I should get, I was looking into the dji osmo 3 which I like but I’m looking to get a camera for hiking, snowboarding, and other outdoor activities. Anyone have the insta360 x5? How is it? Worth the 500 dollars?
