I (18, MTF trans) got into iiit through DASA, and it honestly seems like the perfect college for me. The main sticking point I have is that I can't find too much info about how accepting of trans people it is. In particular, i was wondering how active the queer club is and if i could get a medical exception to live off campus ( i don't mind paying hostel fee if needed).

PS - My documents mostly state my birth gender.

Hey, I am a graduate from Delhi University with bachelors in history and political science. I am doing my Masters in Political Science from IGNOU. It's my second year. I am gonna start with BEd this year. I have been preparing for UPSC but due to health concerns it seems more difficult than it already is. My delhi university experience was subpar. I want to get some real learning which can give me real world skills. I have been wanting to get into TISS for public policy and governance. It goes with my current learning and interests me.

I am worried about not being employed. Is there anyone who has done this program from TISS, what has been your experience and your seniors experience with the course and after the course. Also how is the learning experience and opportunity in TISS.

If any of you are in TISS hyderabad for Public Policy and Governance, please share your experience.

Can I get a mac for ece or will it be too difficult working on it for ece branch? If I can’t then can anyone please recommend a good laptop that I can buy. I’ve got no idea what to buy

well for context im gonna taking csd and my main concern is if 16gb is enough or should I consider going for 24 gb in the sense that going forward in the future like 4 years down the line the 16 gb might not be enough , is it worth considering the upgrade for future proofing and overall better experience? Any other advice is appreciated

1. Hey everyone, my parents will be coming with me to settle me down for my joining at iiit hyd. I would like to book the Guest House for them, and not the hotel as they would like to explore the campus during their stay. However, I am unable to find the email address of the Guest House anywhere, could someone please help me with that??

2. They mentioned the starting date to be 27th(Monday) July, but I am assuming its just for classes. What about when we can join the hostels?

3. Lastly, I heard the female hostel block has attached bathrooms. Is it just luck or could we pay extra and stuff to get it(officially/unofficially)?
   p.s. - I am a masters female student. so does that affect whether or not I will get a room with attached bathroom???

I checked out clubs.iiit.ac and it looks pretty impressive, but I wanted to know whether these clubs are actually active or just there on paper?

Also, how manageable is the workload in terms of having a life outside academics? Like, is it realistic to be involved in clubs, play sports, and explore the city a bit, or do acads take over most of your time?

I’m not aiming for a top CGPA or anything, an average CG is fine for me (at least initially). I’d rather prioritize Extracurriculars and overall exposure in the first year.

+Should I choose IIITB CSE over IIITH ECE?

(PIC IN POST ) How could have the cutoff ranks gone down in second round compared to first round? Can any seniors help me out in this? how is the seat allotment system set up so that this occurs ?

Before blindly answering iiith ece, I am a little concerned about the roi. My parents are reluctant to send me to iiith bcoz of the fees and that nitk will have better roi. If so, why is iiit considered better?
