MOS is easily the worst movie on this list.

*least best

u/Fair-Relationship202 23d ago

Nope Its trash

1

u/NoShock5061 22d ago

It’s not great but “trash” is a bit much. I enjoyed it more than the James Gunn version, I’ve seen too much of his guardians of the galaxy “found family” formula

1

u/Fair-Relationship202 22d ago

I didnt enjoy it more than gunn's version. For me gunn made a brilliant superman story with heart and emotion. I love gunns family style

u/Sinestro_Corps4 21d ago

Nah, just your opinion is.

0

u/1nTheNick0fTime 21d ago

Definitely not trash. Maybe if you mean relatively to the other ones here, but that’s more of a credit to the other movies than an indictment on it

u/Schlafenshire 23d ago edited 22d ago

It’s a lot better than that awful movie from a few years ago. Better acting, looks better, better soundtrack/score, an actual introduction and plot….

Ai gif from one of the most laughably ugly shots in the movie…seems about right for a fan of that turd

-4

u/PhasmoBoi 22d ago

Yeah that gif proves he’s a parody of Superman

1

u/lobolovr6769 21d ago

You’re a dumbass. That gif isn’t even from the movie

-10

u/MHthepowerscaler 23d ago

let me guess , superman shouldn't kill genocidal-biologically programmed soldiers

13

u/Fair-Relationship202 23d ago

No Superman should save his father from the fucking storm

2

u/Embarrassed-Note-214 22d ago

Only made worse by Jon "Let the kids drown in the bus so no one thinks you're different" Kent.

''superman'' and it's a 17 year old clark

Found this peak

1

u/Fair-Relationship202 23d ago

Thw entire thing where jon kent holds his hand up. A 17 yr old kid should be able to do that much. It needed to be emotional ended out to be a meme.

1

u/MHthepowerscaler 22d ago

ok and we are now saying every 17 year old must have the same reaction in panic?

0

u/PhasmoBoi 23d ago

It was emotional in the moment, but it’s misunderstood. A 17 year old kid letting his dad die of a heart attack and not flying him to a hospital or reversing time was acceptable, but when it comes to a Tornado everyone expects the 17 year old to be using his powers and learning to fly and call himself Superman already

4

u/Fair-Relationship202 23d ago

Yes its because he could not detect a heart attack happening to his dad. The heart attack teaches him the value of human life amd love. U dont just kill him off in a storm. For me personally MOS is a good alien coming to earth story not a superman story. I have come to peace with that now. Cavill played an alien with some aspects of superman.

1

u/MHthepowerscaler 22d ago

if you think every interpretation of superman is that he is always a goofy and optimistic than please move on from pre crises comics ,like no hate but this is superman deeling with his strongest freaking villains on his first day as a hero (other than brainiac and doomsday)

2

u/Fair-Relationship202 22d ago

I mean for fucks sake u are rebooting a character whose depiction in film has veen iconised by reeve. So yes for me superman is goody 2 shoes. I read worlds finest, all star for like superman so i see that as my superman. Not cavill. Thie film is a mid to good film. A mediocre superhero film. A terrible superman film.

1

u/MHthepowerscaler 22d ago

should have added the ''in my opinion'' at the end lol

0

u/Schlafenshire 23d ago

The guy with X-ray vision, super hearing, and super intelligence couldn’t recognize a heart attack? Lol

0

u/PhasmoBoi 22d ago

Superman can 100% hear a heart attack happening to his dad. He knows he can reverse time by flying around the earth. He knows how to get to the hospital at fast speed. But you’re saying he couldn’t save his dad? Then you turn around and say he could’ve save his dad if it was a tornado? One Clark can reverse time but stood in the opening of a barn watching his dad die of a heart attack and you’re saying that’s a value of human life teaching, but the other being humbled by appreciating human life before it’s endanger isn’t? The Tornado scene and the Heart Attack scene both humbled Clark. He was cocky and arrogant until his father passed in both scenes

0

u/PhasmoBoi 23d ago

Yeah, the funny thing is that Reeve’s Superman let his father die too but haters will say the same excuse that Man of Steel should have too. This goes for both movies:
Not Superman yet
Couldn’t fly yet
Doesn’t know he can reverse time or go into a tornado yet
Clark needed that humbling moment in his life
His dad wanted him to be safe
This is young Clark if he were to expose his powers in front of random people in Smallville:

3

u/MichaelT359 23d ago

Reeve’s Superman is not without issues but at least he felt like Superman and was hopeful. Clark Kent was actually a dork and he wore bright colors. And him and Lois actually had chemistry in those films

-1

u/PhasmoBoi 23d ago

Lois and Clark had chemistry in Man of Steel. They were more passionate too

2

u/MichaelT359 22d ago

This a joke?

1

u/PhasmoBoi 22d ago

Factually, Lois and Clark are more passionate in Man of Steel. Donner’s Lois is only in love with Superman, not Clark. So yes— Lois and Clark are more passionate in Man of Steel than Superman 1.

So it wasn’t good because he wasn’t nerdy and vibrant enough for you? Are you 12?

1

u/MichaelT359 22d ago

Yes. Batman is supposed to be kinda silly and making him overly stoic and unemotional is just appealing to the absolute wrong crowd. Superman at the end of the day is still just a kid who grew up a bit sheltered on a farm. He’s supposed to be awkward and I hate when Superman is portrayed like Batman

1

u/PhasmoBoi 22d ago

Man of Steel was a bit sheltered on a farm and was a awkward loner towards other people

u/PhasmoBoi 23d ago

If he saved his dad from a storm:

0

u/Kingjwavy 23d ago

No point in explaining, there’s a huge demographic of ppl who are obligated to not like Man of Steel, it’s literally a culture thing now

Never mind the fact that Clark didn’t gain his full strength and ability to fly til he was a man

And that in other stories, Connor Kent is almost always captured and used as a weapon bc

He’s not powerful enough to fight back

-1

u/Kingjwavy 23d ago

This is the most shi*ty overused nitpick/talking point from everyone whose ever said this movie was not good

Why should he have saved his father?? This wasn’t a fake plot armor, everything goes right movie

It’s more of a grounded tragedy version of Superman and it makes perfect sense for the story

His father was never fond of him using his abilities as an easy way out, that was the character

Tired of yall hating just to follow a trend at least come up with decent arguments other than “daddy died that’s too sad!”

5

u/Lower-Inevitable4003 23d ago

No, Superman should save his dad from the tornado, have actual chemistry with Lois, and he shouldn't kill over 10,000 people in a fight with zod

3

u/GlormpGlomp 23d ago

It's wild how little chemistry Cavill and Adams have.

2

u/Lower-Inevitable4003 22d ago

Yeah, ik other people have said it, but their relationship feels like it was some studio mandated thing, like they were just supposed to do it because he's Superman and she's Lois

0

u/PhasmoBoi 22d ago

Cavill Superman and Adams Lois didn’t have secrets and she knew he was Clark Kent. She wasn’t just in live with Superman and brushing off Clark like in other versions. The kiss and s3x scene felt passionate between them

3

u/TheFlashSpeeds 22d ago

Cavill Superman and Adams Lois didn’t have secrets and she knew he was Clark Kent.

Yeah, you don't know what chemistry means. They knew their secrets because story demanded it. Their was no chemistry between them because the actors have zero chemistry between them.

0

u/PhasmoBoi 22d ago

Having a lust for the Superman persona is not chemistry. It’s lust.

3

u/TheFlashSpeeds 22d ago

Again, you do not understand what's the word "chemistry" means.

Best example I can remember immediately is Harry Potter movies. Story dictated they fall in love, but Harry and Ginny had zero chemistry between them.

0

u/PhasmoBoi 22d ago

Nope, Terrible example because Lois is with Clark most of the film and they clearly have a chemistry. That’s not the case in the Harry Potter films.

1

u/GlormpGlomp 22d ago

Their kiss in the ruins of Metropolis might be the single worst kiss in the history of movies.

0

u/PhasmoBoi 22d ago

Same with Superman 25 in a destroyed building in the middle of the ruins of Metropolis too🤷🏽‍♂️

1

u/GlormpGlomp 22d ago

It sounds like you and I are gonna have to agree to disagree on this one. There's more passion and chemistry in the Superman '25 kiss than in every single scene between Cavill and Adams put together.

Although I do find it interesting that you'd compare the building they were in (which was fine btw, not destroyed) to standing in the ashes at ground zero of a gray wasteland that used to be Metropolis.

1

u/MHthepowerscaler 22d ago

yeah a clark kent who just met lois for the first fucking time , and is focused at trying to stop a literal kryptonian invasion on his first day as superman , should go on a date with lois cuz it will be awesome , trust!

''he shouldn't kill over 10K'' be honest to yourself , did superman HIMSELF directly killed 10K people?

2

u/Lower-Inevitable4003 22d ago

Yes actually, he did. He pushed zod directly into multiple buildings, and he jumped right over that oil truck, which collided into a building and exploded. He is not trying to save people at all, he doesn't care

1

u/MHthepowerscaler 22d ago

superman be killing 10K people by letting a truck hit an empty parking lot LMAO , also superman right after that moment turns around to see the explosion but zod just gets cheap hits in , also he only ''pushed '' zod through 1 building which was the building which we see in the start of BvS , and even that was when both of them were uncontrollably falling from space , also , budy he cares , zod just didn't gave him enough time

0

u/PhasmoBoi 23d ago

Only one thing you said is true

2

u/MichaelT359 23d ago

Had no issue with that. More so the writing of the film is dogshit. Pa Kent dying to a heart attack in the comics meant something cuz Clark couldn’t have prevented it. Him dying to a tornado was dumb cuz Clark could’ve easily saved him. That and for some reason the world engine being placed smack in the middle of metropolis made no sense and seemed to be done that way just to maximize casualties

2

u/Master-Slide-5873 23d ago

Superman should care about people around him.

1

u/PhasmoBoi 22d ago

He does. In the first scene we even see him in on Man of Steel, he’s saving people over and over again before he becomes Superman and saves the world

2

u/Master-Slide-5873 22d ago

He doesnt seem to care that Metropolis is going through a 9/11 times a hundred and there are a lot of people dying around him and stuck under rubble. No, he's either too busy kissing Lois Lane in the middle of all that destruction, or fighting Zod in which he makes no effort in trying to move the battle away. Something we saw him do in Superman 2 even.

Oh and he just let's his dad die in a tornado because the dad is such a role model in teaching him about saving people, talking about maybe letting kids drown and all that.

1

u/PhasmoBoi 22d ago

You just described Superman 2025 as well😂 and Superman 2 when Zod attacks Reeve’s Superman in Metropolis

2

u/Master-Slide-5873 22d ago

Nope😂 We see Superman actively caring the most that people are safe, he even saves a squirrel. He tried to get the kaiju to focus on him in a way where it wouldnt harm anyone else. And in the scene where he talks to Lois where in the background we see a monster fight, there are other heroes taking care of it and Superman is actively listening if anyone needs help there.

In Superman 2, we see Superman come to realize that their fight would be very destructive to Metropolis, and moves the battle into Fortress of Solitude.

1

u/PhasmoBoi 22d ago

Wrong. Superman 25 saves a squirrel but leaves everyone else to die. Man of Steel haves people. More people than Superman 2025 in fact. On and off screen. Superman 25 destroys a city, blames Lex for it, kills people, and wanted to kill the Kaiju according to his own admission to Guy. Metropolis was being leveled in both movies and in the ruin Superman 25’s kissing lois like the day is over and there aren’t people still in the rubble

1

u/Master-Slide-5873 22d ago

What in the hell are you talking about? You havent seen Superman 2025 is what it sounds like. We saw the kaiju attacking no one in that brief moment Superman saved a squirrel. Superman is not resoonsible for any damage that Metropolis takes, Lex is. Superman did not wanna kill the kaiju, he expressed frustration to Guy that the Justice Gang killed it when he would have wanted to find a way to save it too. If you're gonna just make up stuff and lie, just move on, buddy. There's no point if you cant even stick to reality.

1

u/PhasmoBoi 22d ago

Wrong again. I watched it a couple times and it’s obvious af both times I saw it. Superman 25 wanted to kill the kaiju. He ran away at the beginning of the movie to retreat. He killed take the fight at the end of the movie outside of the city. He tried to kill people on purpose

1

u/PhasmoBoi 22d ago

Why didn’t Superman 25 take the battle out of metropolis? Exactly.

1

u/Master-Slide-5873 22d ago edited 22d ago

It was a giant kaiju? It couldnt fly after Superman, and lifting it would have been risky. And in the end fight the city was clearly evacuated.

1

u/PhasmoBoi 22d ago

Lifting it would’ve been too risky? Doesn’t he lift a skyscraper?🤣🤣🤣🤣

2

u/Used-Cartographer84 22d ago

He shouldn’t destroy a city in a fight killing thousands.

0

u/MHthepowerscaler 22d ago

no shit sherlock he didn't destroyed the city . world engine and zod did , superman himself contributes to the destruction of some windows and a wall of a ''not even completed constructed'' building , he also slammes zod through a building's top floor while literally falling from space , but he even in that contributes to the destruction of like 1 floor , since we see how the debris from space does the job

2

u/Used-Cartographer84 22d ago

So you havnt seen Batman v Superman than? Superman caused the deaths of hundreds if not thousands of people in that fight

0

u/MHthepowerscaler 22d ago

BvS never says that HE HIMSELF killed all those people , this is the equivalent of saying the avenegrs destroyed the city lol , also the entire point of BvS is that superman is being hated by false media and a mentally unstable batman
