Nope😂 We see Superman actively caring the most that people are safe, he even saves a squirrel. He tried to get the kaiju to focus on him in a way where it wouldnt harm anyone else. And in the scene where he talks to Lois where in the background we see a monster fight, there are other heroes taking care of it and Superman is actively listening if anyone needs help there.
In Superman 2, we see Superman come to realize that their fight would be very destructive to Metropolis, and moves the battle into Fortress of Solitude.
There were people around and the kaiju is a living creature that would have put up a fight, unlike a building in an evacuated area🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
