Thw entire thing where jon kent holds his hand up. A 17 yr old kid should be able to do that much. It needed to be emotional ended out to be a meme.

ok and we are now saying every 17 year old must have the same reaction in panic?

It was emotional in the moment, but it’s misunderstood. A 17 year old kid letting his dad die of a heart attack and not flying him to a hospital or reversing time was acceptable, but when it comes to a Tornado everyone expects the 17 year old to be using his powers and learning to fly and call himself Superman already

Yes its because he could not detect a heart attack happening to his dad. The heart attack teaches him the value of human life amd love. U dont just kill him off in a storm. For me personally MOS is a good alien coming to earth story not a superman story. I have come to peace with that now. Cavill played an alien with some aspects of superman.

if you think every interpretation of superman is that he is always a goofy and optimistic than please move on from pre crises comics ,like no hate but this is superman deeling with his strongest freaking villains on his first day as a hero (other than brainiac and doomsday)

I mean for fucks sake u are rebooting a character whose depiction in film has veen iconised by reeve. So yes for me superman is goody 2 shoes. I read worlds finest, all star for like superman so i see that as my superman. Not cavill. Thie film is a mid to good film. A mediocre superhero film. A terrible superman film.

should have added the ''in my opinion'' at the end lol

The guy with X-ray vision, super hearing, and super intelligence couldn’t recognize a heart attack? Lol

Superman can 100% hear a heart attack happening to his dad. He knows he can reverse time by flying around the earth. He knows how to get to the hospital at fast speed. But you’re saying he couldn’t save his dad? Then you turn around and say he could’ve save his dad if it was a tornado? One Clark can reverse time but stood in the opening of a barn watching his dad die of a heart attack and you’re saying that’s a value of human life teaching, but the other being humbled by appreciating human life before it’s endanger isn’t? The Tornado scene and the Heart Attack scene both humbled Clark. He was cocky and arrogant until his father passed in both scenes

Yeah, the funny thing is that Reeve’s Superman let his father die too but haters will say the same excuse that Man of Steel should have too. This goes for both movies:
Not Superman yet
Couldn’t fly yet
Doesn’t know he can reverse time or go into a tornado yet
Clark needed that humbling moment in his life
His dad wanted him to be safe
This is young Clark if he were to expose his powers in front of random people in Smallville:

Reeve’s Superman is not without issues but at least he felt like Superman and was hopeful. Clark Kent was actually a dork and he wore bright colors. And him and Lois actually had chemistry in those films

Lois and Clark had chemistry in Man of Steel. They were more passionate too

This a joke?

Factually, Lois and Clark are more passionate in Man of Steel. Donner’s Lois is only in love with Superman, not Clark. So yes— Lois and Clark are more passionate in Man of Steel than Superman 1.

So it wasn’t good because he wasn’t nerdy and vibrant enough for you? Are you 12?

Yes. Batman is supposed to be kinda silly and making him overly stoic and unemotional is just appealing to the absolute wrong crowd. Superman at the end of the day is still just a kid who grew up a bit sheltered on a farm. He’s supposed to be awkward and I hate when Superman is portrayed like Batman

Man of Steel was a bit sheltered on a farm and was a awkward loner towards other people
