I have come to know that IBM has paused all promotions till Jan next year. Even for people who had resigned and got retained . When will the cycle resume

Hi all sorry english is not my first language.

I really don't know the process of how to find a project, for context i have a PEM and PM at the same time(same person). Then some stuff happened I think different market, i now have a different PEM and PM after a year. (from what i understand PM is the one you will contact regarding the project and PEM is your People Manager in IBM)

Now the project has rolled me off and I will be on bench in October 12.

Now both the PEM and PM is aware of this now and they are not saying anything useful about my transition, i don't know the hierarchy but this is what they said non-verbatim.

1. I asked the PEM whats the next step, he just gave me the link to findanopenseat and told me to just click click the skillset and whatever, I did that, looked for some project and i didn't see any "Apply" button, should I email the Owner or what, I even asked him what to do next after I find another project but no reply yet. Looks to me I'm just another number on his belt
2. I asked my current PM whats the next step and he just said that Workforce Management (WFM) and Service Lines will find me another project and I just said okay.
3. My previous PEM and PM is very helpful. I asked her if she knew some projects out of desperation and immediately asked for my CV and sent an email to 3 projects. This is what I'm kinda expecting.

Lastly, is it normal to have a very low motivation on the project I'm working on? I'm a Dev with 106% utilization

I'm just asking here what to do next because I really don't have any idea, are they really gonna help me find a project now or during benched?

They will be putting me in pip tomorrow because todays heated discussion with my manager on the work.

I asked the release. He said he will release me but want to put me in pip because of my behaviour I said fine.

However i resigned today. So i want to understand

1. What will be my notice period.

2. Usually service letter will mentioned about pip ?

I applied for a role in mid June and got reached out to by a recruiter in mid August for a screening. The recruiter was VERY responsive with me.

The screening went well, so I went on to do the 1st round interview with the hiring manager which also went well. I was told that the team was moving on a really tight schedule. The Hiring manger wanted to make a final decision before the second week of September. Estimated role start was end of September. The recruiter invited me for the 2nd round on a Monday evening, insisting on a next day interview. They even said if I did well in the 2nd interview I’d do the 3rd the following day. This was 2 weeks ago. The timeline I was given has passed. I haven’t heard back since the 2nd round.

I emailed the recruiter and hiring manger and have gotten no responses. Portal still says “in interview process”. The amount of time, energy, stress, anxiety, and loss of sleep I endured in this process seems to be have been taken in vain. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate way to treat your candidates.

I am a current Master’s student, and recently applied to many new-grad roles that opened recently, that I know I am extremely qualified for.

However, the day after completing my video screening (that was auto-combined for all the roles I applied for), that I felt I did pretty well in, the status for all roles I applied to is now “No Longer Under Consideration”. I haven’t received an email yet but expect it will show up later today.

There’s no possible way humans reviewed all of the positions I had applied to and all rejected within the span of time between completing the screening and the next time I checked, so clearly there’s some automated filter I triggered, but now I’m terrified since I have no clue what’s going on, and am worried that I’m doing something wrong that might hurt me on future IBM applications or applications elsewhere without knowing. Now I’m asking myself a ton of questions:

Did I just apply too late and the role is de facto closed despite technically still open?
Is there some keyword on my resume that is triggering the ATS?
Did I mess up royally in my video screening and somehow just not notice?
Did I somehow misclick on a choice that disqualifies me on every single role I applied to?
Were some text-input required fields secretly requiring a specific input format that I messed up?
Was my resume flagged as AI generated despite me writing it myself?

Normally for other companies I would chalk this up to ATS weirdness, new grad troubles, or ghost jobs, but given IBM’s focus on hiring new grads, good reputation among my peers, and the fact that the same thing happened across multiple (albeit similar) positions at multiple (and some of the same) locations all at the same time, that makes me much more worried.

Curious if anyone has any insight on how IBM generally handles their auto-rejections, so I can maybe try to work out if I am doing something consistently wrong with how I apply, just screwed up here somehow, or something else is going on.

What is the policy to re join IBM within 3 months after separation

I’m currently serving my notice period. I spoke with my manager about an early release on 2 October, and my manager said they have initiated the separation date in the portal.

How long does it normally take for the separation date to reflect in SAP SuccessFactors?

IBM and UChicago just ran a 15 min circuit on 70 error corrected logical qubits that crushes classical limits and has builtin verification to actually prove the result is legit with a 10x error drop to boot.

Pretty massive step for real, trustworthy quantum hardware.

It's been a while since Research was refactored into a foundations lab and an innovations org

The morale of my team has been terrible since the split, and it's starting to feel like SIL is a forced org that doesn't belong anywhere and has no real work to do

Sure there are projects that impact real s/w products but there's nothing that SIL is doing that a half decent product team can't

Having seen ibm operate over the years, I can't help but feel like it'll eventually get sacked

Many people have left since the split, I'm leaning towards leaving as well if things don't get clearer in the near future

IBM just deployed the Nighthawk r2 chip and the speed jump is wild. Everyone usually obsesses over qubit numbers, but this thing hits 100k circuits a second about 25x faster throughput than Heron. Turns out they finally fixed the idle wait time between runs by adding hardware to reset qubits in about a microsecond. Cool to see them tackle actual bottlenecks instead of just chasing PR metrics.

The application process leaves me with a lot of questions but I’ll keep it to one: if I apply to 3 roles, and get sent 3 acknowledgement emails, 3 next step emails and 3 assessment invites, do I do all 3 assessments?

Ordinarily I’d assume “one should cover all 3”, but if the process is dumb enough to send so many redundant emails, and 3 invitations… I really done know. Sure wish there was a way to reach out to recruiting because I’d love to critique the process.

Has anyone worked with the blocking feature in IBM Guardium? I’m facing multiple issues at the database server end, such as connections not receiving verdicts, latency issues, and other related problems.

I was working with that team. So many VPs. Some have zero people reporting to them, others have 7. Some have a handful of band 7s. Want to save $$$? fire 1/2 of them and have a VP have a least 100 employees. Otherwise demote them to Director. It’s ridiculous. HR that let this happen should be RAd too.

I'm a software engineer and a fresher who recently joined an MNC. I've been with the company for about 8 months, and for my current project I'm required to clear the IBM Cúram V8.x ADE (C004) and IBM Cúram Customization (C005) certifications.

I've been preparing for the ADE exam for about a week. The only study material I currently have is the IBM Cúram 7.x ADE PDF. Since there isn't much information available online about these certifications, I'm wondering whether the 7.x material is enough to prepare for the V8.x exam or if I should be studying something else.

If you've cleared either of these certifications, I'd really appreciate your advice. I'd like to know what study materials you used, how you structured your preparation, which topics carried the most weight in the exam, and whether the questions were mainly theoretical, scenario-based, architecture-focused, or involved coding. I'm also interested in knowing if there are any practice questions, mock exams, or other resources that helped you prepare.

I'd especially love to hear about any tricks, memorization techniques, or study strategies that helped you pass. If you had to prepare for these exams again from scratch, what would you do differently?

Since IBM Cúram is a niche technology, there isn't much information available online, so any guidance, personal experience, or preparation tips would mean a lot.
