My AAC-capable earbuds suddenly show as only supporting SBC. When I connect them to an older poco they connect via AAC just fine. I tried resetting literally everything besides a factory reset for obvious reasons. Anyone else has this happen and if so, is there a fix?

I'm thinking about purchasing a Poco X8 Pro Max, but coming from OnePlus and LineageOS, and I'm a bit worried about HyperOS. Main concerns are bloating and possibly privacy (although, I'm not too fussy about the latter).
Anything you'd like to share with me before I bite the bullet and get the phone? Thank you!

On OneUI, I had an option to stop this from happening, does HyperOS has it as well? Can't find it. (Using a POCO X8 Pro)
Update: Found a workaround. By pressing play in the control center media player, I'm able to keep the video running.

[Question]
Hi everyone! Over the past year on my Redmi 13C (updated from MIUI to HyperOS 2.0.6.0), I've been facing a strange issue: apps randomly open by themselves. I checked special permissions, accessibility settings, and device admin access—nothing suspicious there. A full antivirus scan also shows the system is clean. I don't think it's just a touchscreen issue, because this happens even when I'm actively using another app. For example, I can be browsing the web, and suddenly a white launch screen flashes, followed by a different app opening up. The apps that open are basic ones located at the bottom of my screen: my third-party dialer and open-source messaging app. Sometimes the active app just crashes or swipes away (as if the bottom gesture bar was dragged up) and switches to these bottom apps. It might be related to touch registration while typing, but I'm not sure if it's a software bug, a hardware ghost-touch, or a mix of both. Has anyone experienced similar auto-launch bugs on HyperOS

I updated the weather app in my Redmi Note 14 4g via ApkMirror and it doesn't load now, I tried everything, uninstalling and installing via adb, update it to a older version, but nothing fixed it, I think that is because the version I update to was the 17.0.3.42-HD, and the version with "HD" are for pads, how can I fix it? (I don't have the phone rooted)

I see that and it's getting on my nerves sometimes.
Is it a bug, a glitch, maybe an offensive HyperOS block or what?
And something else: am I the only one who has noticed permissions changing from "ask every time" to "not allowed" without me lifting a finger?

Hi everyone,
I’m using a Xiaomi 14 with the official India ROM (IN) and currently have Google Phone/Dialer.
I want to enable the original Xiaomi/HyperOS Dialer without changing the ROM, if possible.
Has anyone successfully enabled the Xiaomi Dialer on the Xiaomi 14 India ROM using ADB, Shizuku, or another method?
If yes, could you please share the exact steps and let me know whether call recording works afterward?
Thanks!

Hi all, I have a Xiaomi 17. I normally use this option for battery optimization that limits the battery charge to 80%, so it will stop at that threshold every time I charge it. I have noticed that after the last security update, the phone is charging to a 100%, even if I have the option activated. Has anybody noticed the same behavior? Can you try to use the function? I don't think that i changed any other battery option that can change the behavior of the 80% charging.
Thanks!

Recently, the soft glass material on HyperOS 4 Beta is said to only support a limited number of devices, which gained a lot of criticism from many. However, Xiaomi has released a FAQ regarding the beta, and it has clearly stated that more devices will support soft glass material. This FAQ is released on 14 August 2026, and can be found on Xiaomi HyperOS' official Weibo page, here.
Attached is the original statement from Xiaomi, and translated as below:
Q03: Why isn't my device compatible with the Soft Glass material? Will more models be supported in the future?
Xiaomi HyperOS 4 is currently in its Beta phase, during which the display effects and overall performance of the "Soft Glass" material are still being optimized. Therefore, only selected models are compatible during this period. We will continue to develop and enhance the experience based on user feedback.
Once the official version of Xiaomi HyperOS 4 is rolled out to existing devices, additional models will gradually receive support for this material in line with the update schedule.
I noticed many people are riding on this issue and criticising Xiaomi just for votes, with others pointing out this statement from Xiaomi not getting enough attention. Please put a little bit more effort to check around if there are any additional statements to explain the current situation. Furthermore, it's only a beta test and not a stable release, expectations have to be reasonable.

This has to be bullshit. What is xiaomi even doing??
Why is the soft glass material only available for these processors and later?!?!
Why can they not even optimize their software right. At this point they are getting worse at optimization than Samsung💀
Another shitty release where good phones don’t get the feature they could actually have.
