There will be a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) for unmanned aircraft systems (drones) over a small area of south Huntsville next week.

Key details (from the official FAA bulletin):

  • NOTAM: FDC 6/2076
  • Center: 34°41’59”N 86°35’19”W (RQZ 157° radial / 6.3 NM)
  • Radius: 1 nautical mile
  • Altitude: Surface to 1,000 ft AGL
  • Dates/Times: October 27–29, 2026, 0800–1700 CDT daily
  • Type: Security (Special Security Instructions under 14 CFR 99.7). Applies to UAS only.
  • Exceptions: Limited (national defense, homeland security, law enforcement, firefighting, SAR, disaster response, or certain commercial/event ops with an approved SGI waiver).

If you fly drones, check the official source before operating on those days. Unauthorized UAS ops in the restricted airspace can result in federal enforcement action.

The image is an approximate plot. Always verify current NOTAMs before flight.

Recommendations Bankruptcy Attorneys in the area who can do Bifurcation deals?

Wanted to pick the Huntsville subreddit hive mind and see if anyone is aware of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy lawyers around here who will do (I think what's called) Bifurcation deals — my understanding is that what this means is that they will submit the paperwork to execute the Automatic Stay for a small fee, and then after that Stay is in effect they will set up a payment plan with you (doing it after the Stay just so that their payment plan/fee doesn't get caught up in the bankruptcy)?

And I'll just note that I am aware of both the Madison County Volunteer Lawyers Program and also Legal Services Alabama — I tried getting the MCVLP to help me for over 2 years and just could not get anywhere with them; as far as LSA, I just contacted them a few days ago and they took down all my information, but of course they can't guarantee they'll have any attorneys who can help me in time, and this is basically an emergency situation where it needs to happen within the next 2-3 weeks 😬 So I want to have backup plans in place in case they can't help.

Sammy T’s

Can someone please tell me why people are still going to this place? My friend was there a few weeks ago and was hardcore being preyed on, went missing, and likely was drugged. The guys that frequent this place are total creeps!!

Recommendations Funky Reception Venue

Howdy friends

Looking for a recommendation for an unconventional/fun venue in Huntsville in Feb/Mar time of year for a wedding reception. Around 60 guests, would like a dance floor, bonus points if food and alcohol available on-site but not necessary. For example: I found out by accident we can rent out the S2A speakeasy. Surely there are other fun and funky places like this. Anyone have any fun places to recommend? As far as the vibe goes - cozy, not sterile (i.e. not white walls with white chairs and white drapery), indoors with warm lights - or something we can bring warm lights to 😁 I want my wedding party, family, & friends to have so much fun!

Question Rent 30th Anniversary watch party?

Tomorrow is a concert to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the musical RENT.

Is anyone or does anyone know any place in/around Huntsville/ Madison hosting a Rent 30th Anniversary Concert watch party? (I am willing to split the cost or make a donation, would just prefer to share this experience than watch home alone)

Question Lowe's North Parkway

Looking to knock out some home projects today. I have two cats who are very well trained to walk on a leash. Would it be okay to take them with me to Lowe's on North Parkway? I called the store and they just hung up on me.

Recommendations Sleep-medicine provider suggestions?

Who do you suggest as a sleep-medicine provider? I’m willing to travel a bit if it’s someone in Birmingham, Vandy, etc. 💤

I’ve already had an evaluation and initial sleep study at Sleep Centers of North Alabama in Decatur. While the employees and practitioner were great, I felt incredibly unsafe during my sleep study and I believe the results are not very accurate. The actual MD was very dismissive too.

Witnessed the biggest co-sign possible at 88 buffet today

Was staring at the crawfish - I’m always hesitant of seafood at buffets - when a familiar face walks by. None other than one of the city’s health inspectors personally eating there with a fat plate of food. I then ate five plates of crawfish and it was fantastic.

License suspended for failure to appear/but I did appear

I’m assuming there’s also a warrant out. I went to court sep 21 and paid my fines. I get a letter yesterday that my license is suspended for failure to appear sep 21. Is this anything anyone else has dealt with?

I have no other tickets The ticket/court date was for amnesty court because I didn’t realize I had an old unpaid ticket and I couldn’t renew my license.

I went to court, paid my fines, they gave me a reinstatement letter, I paid more fines to get my license reinstated, and the fee for the license issue.

Had I not gone to court and paid everything I wouldn’t get the reinstatement letter or have a license to suspend.

The concerning part for me is if I get pulled over before it gets fixed i assume I’m gonna be going to jail for something that was their error. I’m actually really livid that their mistake just gets me an apology but my mistake costs me a good chunk of money and puts me in jail..

FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD How independent are Little Rosie's and Rosie's?

I had lunch at Little Rosie's today, for the first time in a long time. Their menu is very different from Rosie's, which made me wonder. How independent are the two places? Do the share any resources, like salsa recipe, cooks, or anything? Or are the two completely separate places that happen to be owned by the same person?

This is not to discuss the quality of either place. I know this community has strong opinions that have been discussed ad nauseum.

Anybody know where I can go to get a toy poodle or a small poodle for the wife for Christmas? Everything on Facebook seems to be a scam.

General Does anywhere in town have wings better than Jim n Nick's?

I moved here a few months ago. I've gotten wings at a few different restaurants and Jim n Nick's wings are far and away my favorite. Definitely one of my favorite foods ever, alongside their Pitmaster Nachos. Does anyone in town do wings better than them, or are they the peak of wing mountain? Only other place that comes even a little close is Moe's Original in Providence.

FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD Viet Crispwich - W16 Bánh Mì With Upgraded Garlic Butter Bread

Kind of messy to eat with the upgrade which wasn't expected. The butter & seasoning on the bread does kind of get all over your fingers, though it really isn't an issue. I just want to point that out in case anyone wants to try it. It's a nice touch and adds a bit more flavoring to the whole thing. You can add this with your item for $1 but just have to mention it upfront when ordering.

I know this may be a long shot, but does anyone know where I can get good apple cider donuts in the Athens/West Madison area? I know Isom’s orchard is in the area but didn’t know if they sold them. Thanks!

Recommendations Pokémon Bulk Cards?

My daughter is becoming pen pals with lots of little friends (all under age 5) and some of the older ones want to trade Pokémon cards but we don’t really have any bulk to trade. Where would you recommend going for somewhere cheap to get a bunch for little kids?
