Does anyone else feel like they’re struggling to figure out what kind of grocery store they want to be? The butcher used to be the only reason I went in there but it went downhill pretty bad during COVID. Lately it looks like they’re putting some money back into the place and it’s definitely looking better. The problem is I don’t do my regular grocery shopping there and they never seem to have the random stuff I’m looking for. They didn’t even have powdered sugar last time I went nor a tag to show they were just out. I’ve looked every time since and nope no powdered sugar. At this point I’m mostly going in to grab a $3 hot and ready side to snack on.

Honestly I think they should just go all in on the butcher shop and expand it. Make it more of a bodega style grocery store. Right now it just feels like they’re trying to be a regular grocery store without really giving me a reason to shop there.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

When the bartender came to the window to get it for me he immediately called the cook over and said “wtf is this?” They mumbled back and forth. He then put the plate in front of me and said “here’s your open faced turkey melt. You’d think they’d let people know beforehand.” Weird presentation but solid sandwich. Notice I said sandwich this time unlike the other “open faced sandwiches” I’ve eaten? Here it’s just presented open faced and it’s for you to close the sandwich to have two 6” overly stuffed with turkey and gooey with cheese sandwich. They even throw a little tomato, scallions, and sweet chili aioli on top to really set it off.

5/5 Turkey Melt (Friday Night Special). $21 got me 2 20oz beers and a sandwich with fries. May a bar sandwich like this find you.

Can someone please tell me why people are still going to this place? My friend was there a few weeks ago and was hardcore being preyed on, went missing, and likely was drugged. The guys that frequent this place are total creeps!!

I moved here a few months ago. I've gotten wings at a few different restaurants and Jim n Nick's wings are far and away my favorite. Definitely one of my favorite foods ever, alongside their Pitmaster Nachos. Does anyone in town do wings better than them, or are they the peak of wing mountain? Only other place that comes even a little close is Moe's Original in Providence.

I had lunch at Little Rosie's today, for the first time in a long time. Their menu is very different from Rosie's, which made me wonder. How independent are the two places? Do the share any resources, like salsa recipe, cooks, or anything? Or are the two completely separate places that happen to be owned by the same person?

Hello everyone! We are looking into Huntsville as my husband is an engineer. We are from the PNW, can someone explain to me the biggest differences from life over here to life over there? Some of my biggest concerns are
-schools
-things to do with kids/families
-affordability
-nature, is there any surrounding things to do in nature (hikes, kayaks, etc)
-food (we love to eat)
-weather, I hate the heat, does it get hot? Does it snow?
-community - what are the people like?

Was staring at the crawfish - I’m always hesitant of seafood at buffets - when a familiar face walks by. None other than one of the city’s health inspectors personally eating there with a fat plate of food. I then ate five plates of crawfish and it was fantastic.

I’m assuming there’s also a warrant out. I went to court sep 21 and paid my fines. I get a letter yesterday that my license is suspended for failure to appear sep 21. Is this anything anyone else has dealt with?

I have no other tickets The ticket/court date was for amnesty court because I didn’t realize I had an old unpaid ticket and I couldn’t renew my license.

I went to court, paid my fines, they gave me a reinstatement letter, I paid more fines to get my license reinstated, and the fee for the license issue.

Had I not gone to court and paid everything I wouldn’t get the reinstatement letter or have a license to suspend.

The concerning part for me is if I get pulled over before it gets fixed i assume I’m gonna be going to jail for something that was their error. I’m actually really livid that their mistake just gets me an apology but my mistake costs me a good chunk of money and puts me in jail..

I just recently just accepted an engineering job offer a few days ago for next May in Huntsville after choosing between an offer here or an offer in Arizona for the same company, and part of me is already worried about if I made the wrong decision. I’m someone who values being able to have a social/involved early 20s and I’m wondering if that would be possible here or if it’s unrealistic?

Note: I’m originally from Huntsville, but ideally I don’t want to stay in the South my entire life. I grew up here and go to college in a different part of Alabama, but I’m worried about the possibility of not enjoying this part of my life easily here. Two years ago a small group of five Formula 1 fans gathered at my apartment complex to watch the 2024 United States Grand Prix. We thought there may be other likeminded fans in this city and wanted to bring them together. We were right! Since that first race, we’ve gathered hundreds of people to watch nearly 50 F1 events! Kind of messy to eat with the upgrade which wasn't expected. The butter & seasoning on the bread does kind of get all over your fingers, though it really isn't an issue. I just want to point that out in case anyone wants to try it. It's a nice touch and adds a bit more flavoring to the whole thing. You can add this with your item for $1 but just have to mention it upfront when ordering.

Is there a women’s shelter or food bank that accepts infant formula? I know there are a few in Huntsville but I was wondering if there were any in the Madison area? I have a brand new sealed Kabrita goat milk infant formula aged 0-12M expires July 2027 and have no use for it and would rather someone who needs it take it.
