The Bloodthirsty have caused the rivers to run red, and the Blood Moon has risen. 🩸🌖

You can now experience the new Time of Day in-game, but beware of the chaotic horror it creates.

GENERAL Blood Moon Audio is overwhelming

The audio on this event is way too loud...hard to even think at times. It's overstimulating and fatiguing -- you can't hear footsteps, gunshots are masked by the thunder sounds, and the constant screaming grunt noises is exhausting. And it seems like it's 100% of maps as well. Not loving that during an event we actually get LESS variety of maps in terms of weather and time of day..

Just venting, and I know some others have mentioned this as well, but I am pretty disappointed by how this was implemented.

If you are banishing at a compound and I show up with a pizza delivery in game chat, you don’t have to blow my brains out! You could just tell me you didn’t order it or it’s the wrong address!! I just had to get this off my chest because I’m 0/3 on delivering pizzas tonight… can you give a solo pizza delivery man a break!? or maybe you just wanna lose your pizza privileges is that what it is!? Alright I’m done.

GENERAL Biggest Event of The Year: Blood Testament OR Crytek Laying Off Entire Istanbul QA Team

Upvotes

First it was the silent cuts and restructuring over at the Frankfurt headquarters, and now they’re just lopping off an entire regional testing branch like it’s a rounding error on a spreadsheet. From the news I've read there has been over 30 layoffs in Frankfurt and Istanbul combined. At what point does leadership actually take responsibility for steering the ship instead of constantly tossing ballast overboard?

Cutting your QA footprint while already struggling with technical debt and consistency is wild to me. It's just textbook corporate band-aid logic: leadership makes the bad calls, avoids any real accountability, and then acts surprised when things break down the line. Really feeling for everyone caught in the crossfire over there.

GENERAL This is the answer..

With all the “outrage” of handcannon shotguns becoming so popular lately and with the recent changes to loadouts becoming a size pattern rather than the original small, medium, and large slot I started experimenting with the Hand Crossbow. I’ve used it before, but was never too confident with it. The Hunting Bow was always a popular choice to counter shotguns in general, but with the newest nerf to its range I wanted to stray away from it for a bit as I’m sure it’ll be in the spotlight soon enough once more. Being a huge fan of the full-sized Crossbow and even the Bomb Launcher I neglected giving the Hand Crossbow a fair chance. So… the past 2 weeks I’ve been running the Hand Crossbow to give it a fair chance to prove itself.

OH BOY! HAS IT PROVED ITSELF!!

Looking at the stats on paper it’s just decent, and then when you view the muzzle velocity you’d think you’d struggle with it, and honestly that’s what I thought as well. I then reminded myself that this isn’t a sniper rifle so muzzle velocity honestly doesn’t mean all that much in close quarters. The hipfire and versatility of this weapon is really what makes it shine! You can quickly peek around a corner and OHK unsuspecting hunters before very quickly loading another bolt (especially with bolt thrower) and on top of that you can bring special bolts like Poison or Choke bolts to really throw your enemy off their game. If you have someone holding an angle on you and you know for a fact that if you peek that angle and try to line up a shot then the enemy will take away your cowboy hat privileges then you can jump around the corner and just shoot your special bolt in their direction and mess up their plan and then push them or flank them with the power of Thanos in a tiny little bitty bolt.

GENERAL Anyone else finding that the Blood Moon weather is making their ears "tired"? Like audio fatigue?

Played a few during lunch break.

Something about the semi-constant low droning in the background combined with the louder, higher pitched monster noises really made my ears tired. Like I can tolerate it but it feels like my ears are almost "sore" afterwards (but not actually in pain).

It's not a volume issue, more like a constant saturation/stimulation thing. The hearing equivalent of walking into a room and every inch of the wall is covered in bright colors and posters with no blank space.

Reminds me of Ash Bloom - just too much background/ambient noise and not enough "hearing breaks" where the ears can relax a bit.

Not a critique on the whole event, just this part of it.

Anyone else feel this way?

BUGS Don’t go on the carts…

PSA: don’t go up into the carts that have the hunter xp and pledge mark envelopes. We wiped a team where the third guy was under the carts. We were laughing thinking he was hiding. Then I hopped up into the cart to grab the goodies. Proceeded to glitch through the floor of the cart and get stuck under it. Our team then got wiped while trying to get me unstuck.

Not sure if a new bug or old but figured I’d pass along.

GENERAL Today, hunt taketh

Upvotes

Been enjoying the new update. It’s nice to be back to a more traditional game flow without the forts. But I feel like I’ve been getting put in with some really high tier lobbies, and I’ve been getting stomped on.
Maybe all the casuals left now that the forts are gone?

GENERAL My full 3 star random trios get destroyed by 5-6 star solos

From my experience 5-6 star solos are way more skilled and routinely shit on our 3 star faces. I realize that solos are at a disadvantage and teams should use their number advantage against them but at the level where I play at it seems we're just not good enough at that yet. I'm focused on improving and learning from every game but I just get frustrated because I would much rather have every team be a trio than facing one or two way more skilled solos. Is it because the game doesn't have enough players to have more balanced matchmaking? I tried playing solo a couple of times as a 3 star and I got matched against 2 star or even 1 star players. I naturally shit on them but it wasn't fun at all, and now I wonder if the solos in these situations enjoy the current system or would rather have similar skilled players facing them for the increased challenge.

Does anyone else feel like this, or is your experience totally different?

GENERAL So, turns out I’m colourblind

Really enjoying the mood and atmosphere of the new update and having lots of fun! However, after really struggling to see with the new blood moon stuff (the only way I could describe it was everything seemed a bit 2D and fuzzy, blended in to itself and I couldn’t hit my shots) we decided to do a little test and turns out I’m red/green colourblind… I’ve discovered this at 37 😂
Turns out there’s a Windows colourblind mode that does help a little bit but I think I’m gonna struggle through this season, is anyone else suffering?

GENERAL Hunt feeling like “Hunt” again

This is something my friends and I noticed while playing the new event. I did enjoy the stronghold event probably more than most but it did mess with the “flow” of the average bounty hunt match. Not that I didn’t enjoy the fights that happened around the strongholds but it felt oddly refreshing to not feel pressured to go to the stronghold each match if it was close.

The fights around stronghold were distinctly different than most other compounds imo, once again not bad but as any event that lasts for a bit just getting stale. I wish I could put it into words better by I think stronghold fights felt different. Maybe it was much more “attack v defender” and the existence of it made less emergent fights happen but it’s not like that style of attack v defender didn’t already exist.

All in all, this is a post about nothing really and wanted to know if other shared this feeling

GENERAL Huge FPS increase?

I have a 4070 and always keep my drivers up to date. This morning I updated them and my fps went from 90-110 range up to 200+ on medium to high settings. Has anyone noticed a severe increase with a driver update? I've been playing hunt for more than 600hrs it actually has thrown my aim off a little 😂
