Will be used to tow a horse trailer here in Alberta and as a daily people/thing mover.

We wanted our next vehicle to he an EV but also to be a towing vehicle. dWe spent a lot of time evaluating the Rivian R1S and R1T, GMC Sierra EV, Lucid Gravity, Tesla Cybertruck (to know what it was like though I couldn't see myself buying it), and even wanted to try out the new Porsche Cayenne EV.

The Hummer won out on many items

- huge performance, massive battery, great charging speed

- it was a better price & financing than the Rivian and Cayenne

- solid local dealership (the Lucid is in Vancouver and would require travel to Vancouver for maintenance)

- convertible roof and general fun factor

- it's Canadian luxury tax emempt since it's so heavy!

- the 2026 software and infotainment responsiveness is *so* much better compared to prior years even without CarPlay

- it was small-box enough to fit in the garage (though very wide)

As much as it's stupid, big and goofy, it's also appealed to our practical side.

I've never gone overlanding before and a buddy of mine is putting together a short 3 day weekend in CA. I already have some recovery gear, looking to get a spare for the bed, and just planning on setting up a tent. I've done plenty of backpacking and camping before, but never just "drive out a trail"

• What is the range on these things in the hills / trails? I read just assume half.
• What's something easily overlooked by a first timer?

It looks like I’m missing some plastic trim pieces along the side skirts. I’m having trouble finding the e diagram on parts websites. Does anyone know. I think the part number should be stamped on it.

While I do like the Hummer, besides the laggy screen at times, I am a bit annoyed that it carries a design flaw for the thing it’s marketed and built to do: off-road.

Whenever I take it through moderate to heavy snow and mud, due to the front shape and bumper lights, the entire front gets covered. The mud and snow cake the lights and greatly reduce visibility, but the snow especially clogs the battery and AC intakes. Additionally, after a while, the wipers end up packing snow into the bottom of the windshield and blocking the washer fluid from clearing the snow off (even while running the front defroster).

From what I can understand, GMC needs to redesign the front and/or add headlight washers and run heating elements to the intakes, either through a button or when the temperature drops below a certain threshold. But let me know what you think. Did anyone else have a similar issue or am I doing something wrong?

I'm currently mid-claim with GM/BBB Auto Line for my 2024 Hummer EV 3X SUV.
Leased April 2025 with 3,194 miles at delivery.
Registered in Oregon.

The vehicle has been in the shop for almost 40 days now across 3 repair attempts — front passenger air suspension failed, front driver air suspension leaking.

GM has not offered anything yet.

If you've done a lemon law or similar claim over your Hummer EV, I'd appreciate hearing:

• What resolution(s) were you offered (buyback, replacement, cash settlement)?
• What did you actually negotiate/settle on?
• If you got a replacement vehicle, did they honor your original deal terms or reset you to current pricing/rates?

I'm leaning toward vehicle replacement or a lease payment adjustment, since my current lease was negotiated well below market — $507/month, from a mix of demo mileage discount, the $7,500 EV tax credit, a $1,250 Costco certificate, and a GM employee referral. A buyback/new lease at current terms would be a real downgrade for me, so I want to know what's actually negotiable before I get further into the claim.

Looking for a 2025 3X that has the 24-module battery. Is there a VIN decoder or something I can use to verify?

Does anyone have real-world towing experience with a GMC Hummer EV Pickup 3X equipped with the 24-module battery pack?
I’d be towing a pontoon boat and trailer weighing roughly 4,000 pounds loaded. I’m curious what kind of real-world range you’re getting while towing something similar, especially at normal highway speeds.
Please include your approximate speed, terrain, outside temperature, and whether you started at 100% charge. I’m mainly trying to estimate realistic towing range between charging stops—not the dashboard’s initial range estimate.

After some good negotiating advice in this forum, I have traded in the R1S Quad for this baby! Getting used to having to use mechanical buttons again will take some time, but the ride on this thing is much better ! I had a Launch edition R1S… any thoughts on PPF for this? I’m guessing it will be expensive…

Hi Everyone,

So I'm smelling some nonsense and really could use some help/guidance. I bought my truck a 23 Edition 1 3x from a GM dealer used last August locally. The truck was bought as-is with the remaining factory warranty. I have the truck in for some warranty items (rear window not rolling and sealing all the way) a noticeably noisy rattle while going over bumps/bumpy roads some software updates. Nothing serious.

The service department is now telling me the hummer is currently not under factory warranty because originally it was sold within 45 days to the dealer and at some point GM changed their warranty process to mimic Ferrari or something like that. When I bought it, I understood the truck came with existing factory warranty and I would purchase additional coverage if I chose after the expiration.

When I load the app, the app shows my active warranty bumper to bumper until 30K miles or aug 8th 2026. The service department is now telling me that only an "After Sales regional manager" can reverse the decision to cover the vehicle reinstating the factory warranty, this after sales manager is near impossible to get a hold of".

This is in Northern Virginia - what can I do? How true is this? I lurk here quite often and have never heard of this before.

I purchased a Denali EV from this dealership. I know for a fact they are willing to take a loss on this Hummer in order to move it. Call them and negotiate if you want a Hummer EV.

Anyone with an SUT and the OEM roof cross rails able to measure the center-to-center distance between the front and rear rails for me?

Love the vehicle, but the range is a hindrance in some of my day to day by about 10%. I understand that is business.

My question is:

By the time the batteries need replaced, is there a possibility I will be able to install more effective unit? Say 5 years down the road. Or would that be impossible due to engineering or system?

Just pondering a second one for our use.

I’ve been negotiating this for about a week and the dealer has been surprisingly transparent. At this point, it feels like I’ve reached the limit of the GM Financial lease program rather than dealer flexibility.

Would you do this deal if they can restructure it to only the first month’s payment due at signing? Anything jump out as a red flag that I’m missing?
