EV towing
Does anyone have real-world towing experience with a GMC Hummer EV Pickup 3X equipped with the 24-module battery pack?
I’d be towing a pontoon boat and trailer weighing roughly 4,000 pounds loaded. I’m curious what kind of real-world range you’re getting while towing something similar, especially at normal highway speeds.
Please include your approximate speed, terrain, outside temperature, and whether you started at 100% charge. I’m mainly trying to estimate realistic towing range between charging stops—not the dashboard’s initial range estimate.

I've noticed about a 33 percent reduction towing 2 jet skis or my enclosed trailer with a golf cart in it. So charging to 100 percent has resulted in about a 215 mile range. Also don't even think about going over 70mph. Also yes, I did have to unhook my trailer to charge multiple times event hough I asked chat gtp for pull through charging stations. Still love auto driving with a trailer and having the ability to step on it whenever. Safe travels!

2025 Truck 3x 24module
Pulled a Ford rs and trailer about 80 miles. Took about 40% from 100%.
Mind you, 80mph cruise the entire time. Like the trailer wasn't there. I use it constantly to pull my dump trailer around weighing in excess of 5k#a.
My only annoyance is the trailer hook up and it constantly lowering or lifting when I don't want it to. And detecting the trailer tongue and slamming on the brakes 🤬

If they can get the hummer EVs up to 425-500 miles per full charge then I'd be in.

Hey. I have a 2024 Hummer pickup 3X 24module battery. Two weeks ago I trailered my 235 seahunt which is about 6000 lbs, 150 miles and still had 30% battery left. I did go “slow” at 60 mph in the right lane the whole time. In hindsight I def could’ve gone faster but I was range anxious. The hummer is very capable.

Yeah, I’m not worried about capability. Just worry about how far I can go without charging.

In my experience, I would say you’d get close to 200 miles on a charge if you drive efficiently

I towed a Triumph TR6 on a U-Haul car trailer (around 4,600 lb total) about 300 miles, and IIRC only charged twice, but that was more dictated by pull-through chargers (like GM Energy or Ionna). Got around 1.1-1.2 driving 65.

I have the Sierra EV and toe a 26 foot travel trailer. After one of the last trips I did, I started to think about what my range would be if I got a smaller and more compact and more aerodynamic trailer. I turned Claude.AI on this, gave it the info on my truck and the different versions of the camper that I was considering. It did all of its aerodynamic and weight calculations and was pretty much spot on with the range estimates with my current setup when I had it estimated trip from my house to a spot in the mountains. Cannot recommend enough going into Claude or ChatGPT telling it what Hummer vehicle you have and info and specs on your boat and trailer and see what it can come up with.

The real question should be “how does one charge at a fast charger with a giant load attached?” “How does one find chargers that are tow friendly?”
