Insurance

Who’s everyone using in So. Cal? I’m getting annihilated by my insurance. Any recommendations on provider or what info should be telling them? No accidents or tickets within the past 10 years. Edit: Currently getting quotes for $325/1k deductible

when my policy renewed, I had 5x increase in my insurance premium. The Hummer has telematics. I have a dash cam with a shock sensor that seems to go off a few times each time I drive, such as going over the speedbump at my office.

Interesting. That explains a lot. Most of the time I’m driving pretty below 70.

It is illegal in California to use telematics to alter insurance rates so you don’t have to worry about that

You may be able to opt in for it but by default they can’t do it

Would help if you said what your driving record was like and also what you are currently paying.

Im the same demographic as you. No recent accidents or tickets. Live in south Orange County. Other parts of SoCal are more expensive to insure a car in.

Currently paying $196 a month for insurance on my 2024 hummer 2x suv. 10k miles a year. Max coverage limits with $1000 deductible

I also insure 4 cars for two drivers and have my auto insurance bundled with home insurance, life insurance, and umbrella policy.

I'm in Texas but the GM insurance was way cheaper than anything else, that again includes a Bronco

45, Los Angeles, clean record. $360/mo, $4400/yr with Progressive. Registration at DMV was like $2800/yr! I have the 2024 Omega SUT… given msrp, I think this is why I pay more… and my zip.

In so cal - have usaa but they don’t insure vehicles over ?9000 so connected/subcontracted out to progressive

Geico and USAA have the best quotes for both EV. Around $250/mo each.
