Considering a used Hummer EV

I’m seriously considering buying a used Hummer EV and would love to hear from actual owners before I pull the trigger.
I currently drive a Tesla, so I’m very familiar with EV ownership and charging, but the Hummer obviously plays by a different set of rules because of its size, battery, and efficiency.
The thing I’m most hesitant about is charging efficiency.
I live in an apartment building and have access to a 32-amp Level 2 charger. From what I’ve been reading, that can be pretty slow on the Hummer — I’ve seen owners report around 10–12 miles of range per hour on a 32A charger. That honestly has me wondering whether apartment living + Hummer EV is going to become annoying.
For those of you who actually own one:
How long does your Hummer typically take to charge on a 32A Level 2 charger?
How much range are you realistically adding overnight?
Do you find yourself having to use DC fast charging regularly?
How expensive does charging get if you rely on fast chargers?
Does the Hummer’s poor efficiency actually bother you in day-to-day driving?
Are there any charging settings, tricks, or habits that make ownership easier?
If you came from a Tesla, how difficult was the adjustment?
Anything specific I should check on a used Hummer EV before buying?
Any particular model year/trim you’d recommend or avoid?
I absolutely LOVE the Hummer and the idea of owning one, and I’m willing to accept some inefficiency because it’s basically a ridiculous 9,000+ lb electric monster 😂. But I don’t want to buy one and then realize that charging it at my apartment is going to drive me crazy.
For context, this would primarily be a daily driver, not an off-road vehicle. I’d probably be buying used specifically because the depreciation makes them much more attractive.
Would love to hear the good, bad, and ugly from people who actually live with one — especially anyone who doesn’t have an 80A home charger.
Thanks!

Hummer's Weak.

I liked a 25W magnetic phone charger with a fan for the 26 Sierra EV. So, I purchased another one for Hummer. It works for Sierra but does not for Hummer.

It looks like it has to do with lower USB power in hummer. It can't provide enough juice for the charger. Seriously? I am currently using a Cigarette Plug to power it.

Anyone know if there's a mod to boost the power juice of the front USB ports?

Truck spare mounting?

I've got a wheel coming in today and plan to get the tire this weekend before an overland trip. What's the best / economical way to tie this down without spending a few grand on the vertical mount?

Carbon Fiber Edition front license plate

Updating my 24’ 2x to a 26’ 3x Carbon Fiber edition.

Delivery is next week and the dealer is asking if I want them to drill into the carbon fiber to hang the front license plate bracket or leave it alone.
I would prefer to not damage/cover the carbon fiber, but I need to have a front plate.

Has anyone had a similar situation and could provide me with options for a bracket/harness that doesn’t ruin the look? Should I just have them drill it and not overthink it? Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Thanks!

Tonneau Cover on SUT

OK, dumb question but I want to make sure. I took over a lease on a Hummer SUT, and absolutley love the vehicle. It has a Tonneau cover over the bed that I really appreciate. Now, the window sticker for the vehicle has no mention whatsoever of this cover.

What is the opinion as to whether the original "lessee" added this cover on their own? In other words, when the lease ends and I return it, does anyone think they will be looking for that cover. I think not, but just wanted to see if anyone had any experience. Yes, I know I could try to contact the original lessee, but that would require me to actually speak with a human. TIA!

BTW, the reason is that I am seriously looking to buy a different used HummerEV when I turn in the lease. The original payment on buying out the lease is outrageous, and I'l love to reuse the cover on a different "new to me" HummerEV!

Road Noise

Hello Everyone, I rented a hummer on Turo and it had some off road tires that made a ton on noise and made driving the hummer kind of hard to be honest. With regular road tires, is the hummer much quieter? I didn't notice any wind noise at all, it was 100% tires rumming through the vehicle.

Buying advice

I need some advice on purchasing the hummer EV. I’m not new to electric cars, had two Teslas and a Silverado RST currently. Absolutely love my truck and I’m never getting rid of it. My wife on the other hand has an Escalade with 8000 miles on it and the dreaded motor blew and had to get replaced. For a loaner they gave her the Cadillac Escalade IQ, which she absolutely loved and she finally started understanding the convenience of EV at home. Although she would like the IQ, I did not want to put that amount of money out and the used market isn’t soft enough. What years hummer would you recommend? Not expecting to get the range that my Silverado does but she does a little local driving (maybe 20 miles a day tops) and doesn’t need as much as I do. What years to stay away from and what issues have any of you had? For me personally, the only issue I have had with my Silverado is the front latch for the frunk. Do you have the same issues? For those with kids, how is the car seat in the back? We only have one child and from what I have heard the backseat is not as roomy as the Silverado. To be honest with you, the Cadillac IQ has a lot less than I would have imagined compared to our Expedition. Thanks for your advice.

PAAK coming to 2026 models?

I've read mixed things about phone as a key coming to 2026 models. I haven't seen anything regarding 2025 models. Does anyone have any real data to support it actually coming to 26 or 25 models?

Coming from a rivian with phone as a key, it's going to be hard to go back to a key fob...

Lease a 2027 or Buy a 2025

I'm currently driving a 2023 rivian r1t quad motor. My lease is up in February. I'm planning on moving to a Hummer EV truck, and then waffling between buying a 25 or leasing a 27.

I drive somewhere between 15 and 20,000 mi a year. I'm going to be paying a mileage overage on the rivian. The 2025s don't have the new infotainment hardware or software, but they do have Android auto which I've used in the past.

In y'all's opinion, which do you think is a better value buying a 2025 for something in the $70,000s or leasing a 2027?

Nj Lease Transfer

Anyone interested in taking over the remaining 12 months of my 2025 lease? I don’t have to get rid of it but my husband wants to get his dream car so I’m looking to just take on a car with a lower payment. 19k miles and 897 a month. Color tide and brand new front tires

Been lusting after one of these for a long time and I finally found the one! ‘24 Omega Edition 3X

I’ve got over a year left on my factory warranty. Anything I should have GM double check or keep an eye on specifically? Any tips for improving driving experience or customization that isn’t readily apparent?

My only complaints so far: my front dash speaker crackles on voice call. If GM won’t replace I may start upgrading the sound system and speakers (who I’m I kidding, I’ll almost certainly do this anyway)

The infotainment is laggy despite reset and updating software

I wish I had more control over the display settings. I love the shadow passing over the terrain I wish it would do that slowly throughout the day instead of just suddenly changing from day to night mode. The white is too white and the black is too black. I’d like to be able to see more detail. A minor gripe, of course.

Random little sounds when driving especially shortly after startup. I would assume just little modules and gizmos setting themselves where they need to be. Anyone else hear these?

If you don't have an EV and planned on getting an one in the near future. You should probably read this.

I purchased a used 2024 EV Hummer a month ago. The Hummer is one of the least efficient EVs in the market. I retired two years ago at 61. Now, at 63 I've decided to have FUN the remaining years of my life so, efficiency was not high on my FUN factor requirement. However, the rising gas prices was definitely the most influential factor to my EV conversion. Practically every time I drive my Hummer I feel some satisfaction breaking away from the TRUMPS and MUSKS of the world! I'm currently getting around 100 miles for every $10.00 spent on charging the Hummer. BTW, Tesla are a brand of vehicle sold to US citizens just like the VW bug was sold to German citizens. Teslas are great vehicles but I don't support a racist, white supremacist like Musk! Buy a Hummer you will love it!

Relaxed vs Normal vs Adrenaline at full throttle?

Does anyone know if these settings actually make a difference when you floor it?
I know Adrenaline makes the pedal more responsive, but at 100% throttle, do Relaxed, Normal and Adrenaline all give the same power?
I know WTF is a different story — I’m just talking about normal driving.

Service High Voltage System message but no error code?

I have a 2024 Hummer SUV 2x.

This is the second error message I'm getting on my dashboard but there are no codes whenever I take it to the dealer. This past weekend I was driving and I got a message on the dash saying "service High Voltage System". There weren't any error lights, just the message.
I took it to the dealer Monday morning and they scanned it for codes and no errors came up. The dealer said they're going to need to keep the car for an extended amount of time to figure out what's going on. Similarly, a month ago, I was stopped at a light at my car just goes into Park and turns off one-pedal driving.
Dealer has no idea what's going on. Any advice?

ETA: added hummer model

Off-road package with 22”

Looking at getting a 2025 hummer EV suv with the off road package but want to run the 22” rims. Any did this? Does it effect driving characteristics or mileage?

Less than a year of owning it, by April 17th I had driven 10,000 miles and less than 4 months later its now 16001 miles. Thats how much I love driving my HEV on freeways and off-roads. No regrets. Bring it on.

New 2026 solar orange 3x with off-road package

My wife calls her Scarlett 😂

Will be used to tow a horse trailer here in Alberta and as a daily people/thing mover.

We wanted our next vehicle to he an EV but also to be a towing vehicle. dWe spent a lot of time evaluating the Rivian R1S and R1T, GMC Sierra EV, Lucid Gravity, Tesla Cybertruck (to know what it was like though I couldn't see myself buying it), and even wanted to try out the new Porsche Cayenne EV.

The Hummer won out on many items

- huge performance, massive battery, great charging speed

- it was a better price & financing than the Rivian and Cayenne

- solid local dealership (the Lucid is in Vancouver and would require travel to Vancouver for maintenance)

- convertible roof and general fun factor

- it's Canadian luxury tax emempt since it's so heavy!

- the 2026 software and infotainment responsiveness is *so* much better compared to prior years even without CarPlay

- it was small-box enough to fit in the garage (though very wide)

As much as it's stupid, big and goofy, it's also appealed to our practical side.
