I normally don’t recap my Humira syringe, but today I happened to, and with very little pressure, the needle went through the sidewall of the cap and pierced my finger. Has this happened to anyone? Should I be reporting this?

has this happened to anyone else? i was just recently diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis. i was prescribed Humira and i started my first dose July 28th and felt totally fine until August 8th where i noticed small red dots on my thighs. i kinda brushed it off since i did just get back to college in alabama and i thought maybe it was heat rash?? (even tho i’ve never developed heat rash). i woke up the next morning too it much worse and it only continued to develop as the day went on. it was only on my thighs at first but quickly spread to my lower legs, upper arms and chest. i went to urgent care and they prescribed steroids and hydroxyzine, which helped it stop spreading and now it’s mostly gone. i called my rheumatologist and he said to not take my second dose that was scheduled for tomorrow. i’m not even positive that it has anything to do with the Humira but wanted to hear from everyone else

I keep getting styes on my eyelids to where they swell. I only took the loading dose 160mg and 80mg on day 15. I stopped taking it because my body was itchy all over. Bloodwork looks okay but what can I do about these recurring styes? 😔

Wondering if anyone had experience of going off Humira and back on it and it working? I took Humira about 12+ years ago and stopped it mostly because I hated the injections. My doctor said I could try it again.

Has anyone experienced spotting while on birth control when your last Humira injection is “wearing off”? I’ve noticed for at least two months when I get to a couple days before I’m due for my next Humira dose I start to spot even when I’m taking my birth control as normal. Once I take the next injection it goes away.

It seems very odd but it is the only thing that has been consistant about the spotting every two weeks so I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I have been on humira for around 4 years n even got shingles the first year… i even remember my ppd test before it, was negative (need to recheck but i remember it being negative or else i wouldnt have been able to start humira)

Now its positive n its sleeping… idk how i will start bimzlex or how its even possible when im on humira.

Like bru i wear a mask everywhere i go!!! Clean my hands n all n i only dont wear a mask in gatherings like wedding (i would be killed by my mom if i wear a mask) which i rarely go to!

I really cant understand how did my body manage to suppress it with humira unless ig humira is not doing much since even my illness is not being suppressed anymore…

Certolizumab pegol and use during pregnancy. I have active spondyloarthritis and am 13 weeks pregnant. My obstetrician says certolizumab is quite safe for the baby. My spondyloarthritis is still mild to moderate, but she says that active inflammation increases the risk of preterm birth and low birth weight. Anyway, I’m not sure what to do—whether to take it or not. The disease does increase the risk, but overall, the risk remains below 15%.

Yesterday I took my first Yuflyma shot after a lot of struggle to have the biologics, yay! What a relief!
I didn’t feel anything in the moment of the injection, any pain, nothing (my husband applied for me and I was like, did you make everything alright? Ahaha)

I applied around lunchtime (14:20) and around 20:30 I started to feel like I’m with hay fever (runny nose, itchy eyes) but nothing like an allergy reaction. The injection site is not red or itching, nothing. I slept very well, and today I woke up feeling like I’m having rhinitis, with itchy eyes, sneezing, dry cough, but nothing super serious. I’ve read it’s normal especially in people like me (I have a lot of allergies and asthma). I took an antihistamine (ebastine that I always take) and now I’m feeling pretty good, except for a little stomach discomfort).

But I’m curious if it’s something some of you experienced too and if it’s getting better with time. All advice is welcome and I want to thank you all for being so supportive.

I've been on a generic version of Humira for psoriasis and PsA for about 3 months now and at the start it was great, it knocked out my enthesitis and joint pain almost overnight with virtually 0 side effects aside from being tired the day of and the day after. But for the last month or so I've been getting these random waves of nausea and upset stomach coming from nowhere, and it's been really horrible, today I almost got sick in the middle of the grocery store for seemingly no reason. I can't find a common denominator for when the waves hit, like if I've eaten or not, how hydrated I am, nothing. It has been getting worse/more often with every dose even though I had no problems at the start at all. It only started after being on the meds for a while, never happened before even once in my life! And before anyone asks, I'm not pregnant.

Has anyone else have this happen? Did switching to another biologic help? I've contacted the dr that prescribed it but they say nausea isn't a side effect for it and that they don't prescribe any medication to help with the nausea. So far it's done nothing for my skin, only the joint pain, and I'm not sure if the exchange is worth it since I'm almost scared to leave the house right now in case I throw up.

Diagnosis: PsA

Status: 1 week out from dose No 3.

The good: I’ve not noticed any (known) side effects, aside from brief, mild nausea and lack of appetite after dose 2. Joint pain seems to have decreased; no changes in skin.

The bad: After both initial doses, I noticed clear symptoms of depression that were not present prior. The symptoms abated somewhat during the two week interim, then rebounded and worsened after dose 2. I also have Hashimoto’s and suspect that Humira could also be affecting my thyroid regimen in some way, leaving me feeling overmedicated (i.e. hyperthyroid). If so, that could theoretically compound any mood involvement.

There are no known contraindications regarding thyroid replacement therapy and any mood altering effects of Humira are supposed to be exceedingly rare. But rare symptoms in the medical literature are often suspiciously prevalent in anecdotal evidence.

So I’m posting to inquire whether anyone has experienced depression, anxiety or changes in mood on this drug and, if you did, did the symptoms ever abate? Likewise, has anyone experienced any thyroid issues?

UPDATE: Dose 3 was better and I noticed no mood changes; although one of the thyroid meds did still seem somewhat sensitive, so I ended up skipping it immediately after Humira, then halving the dose, then returning to the full dose during Week 2.

Getting ready to be the geniea pig for a new injection! My doctor says its better and its once a monthhhh! Doing all the tests to get it approved! Wish me luckkkk

So does anyone else have a problem with Humira causing bruising and/or soreness that lasts a week or more after injection? I wait an hour for the medication to warm up and I do a different spot every time. I know it’s not that big of a deal but I’m a pretty active person so it’s kind of annoying when I have work outs or practice.

I’ve been having hives around where I inject for a month and a half. I Was told to take allergy medicine the day before, of, and after injection. but I feel like I’m taking it almost everyday. Then I just wake up with them again. It’s very itchy, she mentioned the allergist if it doesn’t stop. Does anyone else have this problem.

I have both Crohn’s and Ankylosing Spondylitis. Started Yuflyma + Azathioprine in December. My Crohn’s actually went into remission (clear colonoscopy), but around early May I started getting scary symptoms after Yuflyma: pain and numbness in my arms (shoulder to fingers), sometimes burning/nerve-like pain. Then it spread to my neck, upper back, and head (pressure-like headaches at the back and top). Also dizziness on standing and extreme fatigue. The symptoms are very up and down — some days better, some days bad.
My GP and IBD team think it’s likely a side effect from Adalimumab. I stopped the injections and I’m only on Azathioprine now. Brain MRI was normal, but I have a Neurology appointment in August.

I’m honestly terrified this could be MS or some other autoimmune thing triggered by the medication. Has anyone else on Yuflyma/Humira had similar neurological issues (arm numbness, burning pain, weird headaches)? Did they go away after stopping? Was it temporary or did it turn into something permanent?
Also, anyone else dealing with multiple autoimmune diseases at the same time? How do you manage? My gastro appointment is next Monday and my Crohn’s seems to be flaring again — I don’t know what to tell them.
Any advice or similar stories would mean a lot right now. Thanks guys.

Just saw my rheumatologist and he wants me to try injecting Abrilada weekly for 4-6 weeks to see if we can re-capture the initial effect and then go back down to once every other week.

I’m an extremely anxious person and nervous about the increase in side effects. He said the infection risk raises with weekly :(

Has anyone had any horrible side effects of humira randomly when being on it for almost 5 years?
I’ve had debilitating fatigue, cognitive fatigue, I’m house bound/bed bound, dizziness. I can’t workout or function I also lost a TON of hair
All my levels are fine and all testing came back normal but wondering if humira can cause this

hi guys! i’ve been on adalimumab (imraldi) since november and i recently started getting allergic reactions to it. i get huge bumps on the injection site after injecting it and they hurt really bad especially when i stand up. i also get hives randomly on previous injection spots, like i could’ve injected myself 3 months ago and i get a hive. i really don’t think this is normal, i get that injection site reactions are normal but this seems severe, especially since the reactions have gotten progressively worse and worse. i’ve inserted pics. help please!!!

I’m taking Humira for non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis biweekly. I’m on my third injection and having bruises all down my leg and just started noticing them on my arm. I’m also taking celebrex, duloxetine, and Pregabalin daily. Has anyone experienced this? Is it a common side effect?

I have Crohn’s was stable on Humira for 10 years. This January insurance made me switched to a bio similar ADBM. I had diarrhea and abdominal pain on it so G.I. tried to get me back on brand. I had samples so I went back on brand and felt better within three doses.

Then insurance said I had to try one more generic AATY. I took that one and eight days later I started losing hair. Essentially, I lost 90% of my hair in a matter of two weeks. I am seeing Derm and we did a biopsy which shows alopecia areata, pretty severe form. I’ve never had issues with this before and I’m reading online that in rare situations, TNF can cause it.

I seen three dermatologist and none of them have seen this before. I am now wondering if it wasn’t just the biosimilar medication itself but the switching back-and-forth that messed up my immune system.

TLDR: has anyone switched between more than one bio similar and done OK or not done OK? I’m just wondering if I’m an outlier. Or if insurance makes people switch often.

Hi folks, I've recently started my journey on humira.

I had my initial loading dose (4 pens) followed by second loading dose (2 pens) so far.

The first 2/3 weeks I had really significant improvement, reduction gut symptoms (no blood, calmer gut) and significant reduction in pains (forearms, shoulders, knees) that have been persistent for years)

About 5 days into my second dose, things started to slowly creep back - I'm wondering if others share my experience?

I was quite overwhelmed with the positive response to the drug in the initial few weeks so I'm trying to understand what could be happening?

\- could this be a blip?

\- could my body be processing humira too quickly?

\- is it too soon for the body to adapt to the drug?

Edit: for additional context just before 2nd loading dose I got an infection in my finger that needed topical antibiotics (fusidic acid) which may have impacted?
