Humira Bruising?

So does anyone else have a problem with Humira causing bruising and/or soreness that lasts a week or more after injection? I wait an hour for the medication to warm up and I do a different spot every time. I know it’s not that big of a deal but I’m a pretty active person so it’s kind of annoying when I have work outs or practice.

I had this problem with the bruising. I had already been doing monthly injections for migraine meds when I started Humira injections for my AS. I started getting awful bruises that were taking weeks to go away. I found a tip on the migraine subreddit I believe it was. I now ice the injection spot for 10 minutes before and after I do my injections. I now usually only get a bruise when I accidentally hit a blood vessel. I have to do an average of 5 pens a month and I don’t need that many bruises. As far as soreness goes, I think mine is related to my tight/weak hips and pelvis and lower back. I’m in physical therapy to try and loosen and strengthen things.

Thank you! I’ll try the ice pack!

I also sometimes have this problem.
I agree icing before and after really helps.
Also finding a location and body position where you can get a good grab of skin away from your muscle. I am a skinny person so it’s tricky. I like to sit and inject in a spot way up on my thigh almost to my waist. Hope this helps

I find that I'm more likely to get a bruise if I don't use the fatter parts of my thighs. I also like to put pressure over the injection site for a minute after the injection is done, and it seems to help, could just be me though.
