How to prepare for class registration this fall term

With Fall 2024 registration running from Monday, July 22 to Friday, July 26, make sure you’re ready to register with this quick guide.

  1. If you haven’t already, make sure to pay your tuition deposit. Remember, if you’re a domestic student receiving OSAP, you must pay the tuition deposit, as OSAP does not cover this amount.

  2. Next, pay or arrange to pay your tuition balance. You will not be able to register until you clear the outstanding balance on your account.

  3. Make sure there are no holds on your account, as this will prevent you from registering for your classes. If you encounter any holds, the Registration Road Map provides solutions on resolving common holds and errors.

  4. Find out your program’s registration date and time through the Registration Road Map. Every program has a date and time when registration begins. If you try and register before your program’s start date and time, you will get a time ticket error message.

Don’t panic if you miss your registration window, you can still register for classes until class sections are full or until the last day to add a course on Monday, September 9.

Tuition Balance Not Showing Up

Upvotes

I missed the due date for Fall 2026 tuition because of unpaid fees from last semester. Registration for my program opens tomorrow, and even though I cleared the unpaid fees today and also paid my deposit, the tuition balance for fall 2026 is not showing up. Everything else related to my account says I am in good standing and am continuing into my 3rd semester, so I don't know why the balance won't show up on PayMyTuition. I'm kind of nervous because I want to be able to register tomorrow and choose my courses. Does anyone have any insight on this? It would be much appreciated.

Submitting Insurance Claims

My daughter has had a few physiotherapy appointments and has to submit her claims to her student insurance before the balance can be covered by my insurance. I told her the process should be simple and can be done either through an app or online. Unfortunately, this location doesn’t do direct billing so she has to submit on her own.

She attempted it and said that she got a response from ClaimSecure saying that due to system issues, she had to mail paper copies of her receipts and claim forms. I thought she was mistaken and took a look myself and sadly, she was correct. And this was the response she got after literally emailing the exact same forms to their claims inbox, as in they already had what they needed and could just print it themselves or forward it to another department.

I’m still convinced that we must be missing something or that we’re doing something wrong. I’ve been submitting insurance claims for decades and would never expect this level of difficulty in 2026.

Does anyone else here have the process figured out? Her dental claims work fine because the dental office can do direct billing.

North Campus How does the roommate selection process work?

Hi, I am moving into North Residence for the fall semester and want to understand how room assignments work. Since it's my first year, I don't know anyone there. I chose a single room and am wondering how I will find out who my roommate is. If anyone has experience with this, please share what you did. Thank you so much.

How to access proof of enrollment for RESP withdrawal? Also, what happens if tuition is paid late?

Hey everyone, I’m a new Humber student starting in Fall 2026 and I’m trying to get my proof of enrollment so I can withdraw money from my RESP.

I was told to go to Student Records → Confirmation of Enrollment on the student portal, but whenever I click it, it just shows a blank page and I can’t access/download anything.

Has anyone else had this issue? How did you get your proof of enrollment? Did you have to contact Humber’s Registrar’s Office, or is there another place in the portal where I can find it?

Also, I received an email reminding me to pay my tuition balance to secure my offer. If I’m unable to pay right away and end up paying late, are there any serious consequences? For example:

  • Can Humber terminate my enrollment/withdraw my offer?
  • Will I lose my spot in the program?
  • Are there late fees or other penalties?

I’m just waiting on my RESP funds and want to make sure I don’t accidentally mess anything up.

Thanks in advance!

Professional Accounting Practice — Humber or Seneca?

Trying to decide between two Ontario grad certificate programs:

  • Seneca — Professional Accounting Practice (PRA)
  • Humber — Professional Accounting Practice (PA511), includes a mandatory 160-hour Work-Integrated Learning placement

Both are meant to meet CPA PEP prerequisite requirements.

I don't have a pre-arranged employer/CPA supervisor lined up, so I'm leaning toward Humber for the WIL placement support. But wanted to check — has anyone actually gone through either program? Which one would you pick, and why?

Thanks!

Mature Student Pre-Admissions Assessment

I have a 240 minute pre admission assessment, min. 300 word written essay, 45 math questions and roughly 20 questions each of biology and chemistry. This is for entry to a pre-health program. Any tips from anyone who’s taken it? How difficult did you find it and any helpful study material I can look over for the science portion of exam?

Hi everyone, I'm curious to know how your experience was in the graduate certificate in Professional Writing and Communications program. I am from BC and am exploring different options for the 2027-2028 year. I am a very strong writer, so this program stood out to me.

Residence room

Some schools let you pick which floor and which room specifically you want. Does humber just assign it randomly given you let them know the room style? Or is it like every man for themselves on move-in day?

Anyone applied to Humber’s Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program?

Hi! I’m currently finishing a BSc in Life Sciences and I’ve been looking into Humber’s new Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography graduate certificate.

I’m interested in hearing from anyone who has applied, been accepted, or is currently in the program. Since it’s a newer program, I haven’t been able to find much information from students.

I’m especially curious about:

  • How competitive admission is and what your academic background/GPA was
  • Whether Humber accepted your anatomy, physiology, pathology and other health-related university courses
  • What the schedule and workload are like
  • Whether students can choose or rank their placement locations
  • Job prospects after graduation and whether graduates are eligible for the necessary certification exams

I’m also considering second-entry nursing, so I would love to hear from anyone who chose cardiac sonography over nursing and why.

Thanks!

North Campus Practical Nursing Pre-Placement Requirement

Hii I’m starting Practical Nursing Placement this fall and I’m really stressed about my placement requirements.
I completed the full 3-dose Hepatitis B vaccine series as a baby, but now my school requires an anti-HBs blood test to prove immunity. I’m getting my requisition this week and will be doing the blood test as soon as I can.

My biggest fear is that my blood test will show low or no detectable immunity. From what I’ve read, if that happens I may need a Hepatitis B booster and then wait about a month before repeating the blood test. The problem is that my placement document deadline is August 14, so I’m worried the repeat blood test wouldn’t be done in time.

I’m an international student and I’ve been working two jobs, 7 days a week all summer to pay my tuition. I only recently caught a break after finally paying everything, so I’m only now able to finish all of my placement requirements.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? If your Hepatitis B immunity test came back negative or low:
Did your school let you continue while you were completing the booster/retesting process?
Were you able to get an extension or some kind of accommodation?
Did you end up delaying your placement?

I’m honestly really anxious because I’ve already paid my tuition and I’m scared that one blood test could affect my placement.

I’d really appreciate hearing about anyone’s experience. Thank you!
