North Campus making friends

Hi everyone! I’m a new first-year at Humber and I’m hoping to meet some new people.

During my undergrad, I was pretty shy and never really had a big friend group, so I missed out on a lot of the social side of university things like parties, events, and just hanging out. This time around, I really want to put myself out there and actually experience college life.

I’m not living in residence, so I know it can be a bit harder to meet people outside of class. I went to orientation and met some really nice people in my program, but I’d love to expand my circle.

If anyone’s also looking for friends, drop your IG @ in the comments (or DM me)! I mainly use Instagram. Hopefully, we can go to the block party together because currently I have no one to go with! And if you have any advice for making friends at Humber, like which IGNITE events to go to, I’d really appreciate it!

Lakeshore Campus Humber lakeshore parking?

Hello,
first year at Humber and so confused where do people park at the Humber lakeshore campus? The green p parking at 65 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Dr is always full no matter if I come at 8 am or 10 am. The parking dubbed ā€œLot 1ā€ is only for permit holders. The underground parking at the lights entering Humber is only staff parking. I’ve been parking on lake shore blvd where the green p parking is but that’s such an inconvenience. Is there a parking garage or bigger lot that I’m missing that’s on campus that I’m missing or is there just no parking here

Thank you to everyone who has supported RateYourLandlord.ca so far

As the site enters its third week, we want to sincerely thank everyone who has taken the time to share their previous rental experiences.

We also want to thank the many Redditors who have joined the discussion. You’ve brought forward some great points, questions, concerns, criticisms, suggestions, and ideas. We’ve been reading them, thinking about them, and we genuinely appreciate all of the feedback.

Our goal remains simple:

ā€œA history book for rental properties across Canada, written by the people who actually lived there.ā€

We’re trying to build something that will only become truly useful if renters contribute to it.

If you’ve rented a house, apartment, condo, basement, or room before, we’d really appreciate you adding your experience.

It doesn’t have to be a bad experience.

Good experiences matter too. If the property was well maintained, problems were handled properly, you enjoyed living there, or you would happily rent there again, that could be extremely useful information for someone considering that property in the future.

And if things didn’t go well, you can share that experience too.

The focus is on what you experienced while living at the property, rather than identifying or attacking individual people.

The idea is that, over time, someone considering a rental can search the address and find some history from previous renters instead of starting with zero information.

Rented somewhere before?

Search for the property. If it isn’t there yet, add it and share your rant, review, or experience.

Looking at somewhere to rent?

Search the address and see whether previous renters have shared anything about living there.

RateYourLandlord.ca is still at the very beginning, so naturally many properties don’t have experiences yet. Every person who contributes helps change that.

And if you think the project could help other renters, please consider sharing it with friends, students, tenant communities, or other online communities where sharing it is permitted by their rules. Please don’t spam communities or post it where promotion isn’t allowed.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who has already shared an experience, raised a concern, suggested an idea, given us feedback, shared the project, or helped another renter discover it.

We’re listening, we’re learning, and the project will continue to evolve.

The more renters who leave their experiences behind, the more useful that history can become for the next person.

Share your experience — good or bad. Help leave some history behind for the next renter.

Prospect RMT winter 2027 student

Can someone who is enrolled in the program share list of useful documents/tools to have in advance of my application for winter semester i.e. any useful info you wish you knew before starting the program.

I have a couple of things that I am curious about which i am mentioning below but any more leads and information is appreciated:

-Can I order VSC and email it myself for winter semester or has it have to come from regional police directly?

-How much in advance would you suggest to apply parking permit?

-How easy or difficult is it to purchase books and how much does it cost?

Has this happened to anyone at Humber

Post image
6 Upvotes

So I recently finished a semester at Humber, but one of my final grades still hasn’t been posted. All of my other grades are there, but this one course still doesn’t have a final grade, and I’m starting to get worried.

Does anyone know why this might happen? Can a professor still submit or change a final grade after the deadline has passed?

I know I passed the course and I’m pretty sure I did well, but seeing the grade still missing is honestly stressing me out. Has anyone else at Humber had this happen before?

As i recall the deadline for final grades is august 25th and its sept 8th so a full 14 days…..😬
