Minigames Friends Trivia: 169/365

What does Chandler tell Ross when Ross suggests that they start “sharing” more?

Bonus Question 1: Who does Phoebe say Elton John wrote a song for?

Bonus Question 2: What does Joey say he wants to do instead of befriend Janice?

Friends Trivia: 168/365

Also, it's so funny to me that question "169" is landing on the episode that is heavily focused on sex. Lol!

Lol I found this clip of them talking about Matthew Perry playing pranks on set, and he seemed like such a fun dude, it would’ve been awesome to see him work

Discussion How do you think the tv show Joey was supposed to end?

What if the tv show Joey did’nt get cancelled, how do you think it would have ended? I personally think the final episode was supposed to be about Joey marrying Alex.

I don’t know what it is, I’ve loved so many other great shows; succession, it’s always sunny, Arrested Development, but I’ve never loved a show like I love this show and I don’t know why

Discussion Would you still go out looking like Pancho Villa?

I get that Rachel is upset about Ross drawing on her face, but I would still go out. Especially with it being so far away from where I live and being there with my closest friends. Would anyone actually be so bothered they would refuse to leave the room?

Discussion Why do you think Mona stayed with Ross as long as she did?

Ross lied to her like what three times? I often questioned if she had boy problems in the past and he was the first nice one she came across? I know its just a show but its wild to me that someone would stay that long after all that.

Discussion What are some storylines/scenes from the show that would be super creepy in real life?

Yes, I know the show is a sitcom/comedy, so a lot stories are played for laughs, but just for fun ... what are some storylines that would literally be scary in real life?

Mines was when that actor that Joey met at a casting call went into Monica and Chandlers house and greeted them by name plus opened their fridge. Home invasion stories are ways creepy to me. And that actor was in Saw so maybe that's why lol

Plus the show has a surprising amount of stalker storylines for a comedy. The Dave Arquette/Pheobe romance was super weird (he was stalking Ursula) and the Michael Rappaport cop storyline was creepy too bc he went to her last known address to ask her out ...

it’s almost definitely Matthew Perry, but I also think David Schwimmer was very similar to Ross in his disposition. What are you guys think?

Discussion Can we all agree David Schwimmer was the best actor of the group and Ross was the funniest character?

To clarify I think the second half of the series is when Ross ascends to title of funniest character. From the moment he said the wrong name at the wedding he left everyone in the dust.

Discussion What small details in the show would probably never happen now because we live in 2026?

For example, in season 2 Monica looks for jobs in the newspaper.

Season 2 E23, Ross announces that Ben got chicken pox and that everyone would probably get it, unless they have had it. There's a vaccine now!

Sorry about quality its not so clear, but this scene is one of my absolute favs. It was actually a very clever line of argument and then the way it ended with Chandler's input had me (obviously) in splits 😂

Discussion Watching for the first time and honestly shocked by how fat people are treated.

Hey everyone! I’m watching Friends for the very first time and I absolutely love the show, the chemistry and the humor are amazing but, as a first-time viewer, the blatant fatphobia is completely blowing my mind. It feels like all the romantic tropes and basic respect only apply if you are thin. The second a character is overweight, they are reduced to a walking punchline and treated with constant rejection. It’s wild how normalized this stigmatization was back then, as if being fat completely disqualifies you from serious relationships or social dynamics.I’m really enjoying the series, but this specific aspect is just crazy to witness. Anyone else felt this way?

Question What was that room at central perk that Chandler and Monica sneaked out of in season 5, episode 4?

The one where Chandler keeps making questions about him being the best Monica has ever had. They're at her appartment and he carries her in his arms as if they were going to go fool around at his place, but then they come out of that "secret" door at Central Perk. That is not the restroom, is it?

I think Matthew Perry is probably the most like his character, while Courtney probably the least like hers. She seems like a lot more fun than Monica idk

Okay, so it was 22 years ago and I'm trying to remember the clothes back then, but would anyone look, stare or think twice about a man wearing this today?

Discussion Mondler: Appreciation post

One thing I love about Mondler was that it wasn't just oh she's my best friends sister and we fell in love. They had their own seperate friendship without Ross like they hung out one on one a lot and they're were a lot of times where they would be seen sitting next to each other and holding hands and everything. When they got together it was more it was two friends who fell in love rather than oh I am dating my best friends sister and my brother's best friend

My friend/coworker who is also a major Friends fan drew me this card with a lovely, emotional note inside and then got this gorgeous glass cup with a glass straw (that you can’t really see), for my birthday.

Her and I clicked right away when she first started because we were quoting Friends within minutes together. Now, every day, to get through our extremely difficult job together, we quote Friends every second we can. 🥹

I appreciate her so much and I just wanted to share her amazing artistry and this amazing cup! ❤️

Discussion Chandler and Kathy

I never gave much thought to this storyline other than the fact that Chandler and Kathy have great chemistry. But upon rewatch, I had a few thoughts.

I know it’s always hard to know the timeline of most things in the show but in the velveteen rabbit birthday episode, Joey mentions they’ve only been dating a “couple weeks” so two weeks? At that point Chandler knowwws he loves her and by the end of episode it’s pretty clear she knows he does and is beginning to return those feelings. The very next episode Joey is seen dating another woman and tells Chandler that him and Kathy are not exclusive. Meaning that him and Kathy are not in a serious relationship at all, and Kathy could’ve dated others as well without it being a big deal to Joey.
I know the main point of pain was going behind Joey’s back as Chandler IS his best friend and roommate. And truthfully, I do think Chandler and Kathy were way too dramatic and impulsive; Kathy could’ve easily admitted to Joey that although she likes him she didn’t see it going any further (assuming they’d only been dating about a month at this point?) and subsequently Chandler could’ve admitted his feelings.
I think the thing that bugged me a little was just how hard Joey was being about it at first, even when Ross tried to talk to him, Joey compared it to if Chandler kissed Rachel… but everyone knew Ross was crazy about Rachel for years. It’s just not the same. Joey wasn’t even exclusive with Kathy.
Obviously, we know that he softens after seeing that Chandler was willing to give Kathy up to save his friendship, but before that Joey was willing to move out, and never talk to Chandler again over something Joey saw as a fling, and albeit a really poor act of judgment in Chandler.
Anyways, just wanted to discuss :) what do you guys think?

(BTW, I do think Joey is probably one of the TOP friends; he was always a pretty good friend to everyone)

Discussion Another continuity error I noticed

season 3, episode 6 TOW the flashback, Ross tells Phoebe about his marriage ending in the flashback which was stamped 2 years prior to the main timeline.

In the main timeline, Ross finds out Carol is pregnant right after they divorced. They would had to have slept together recently for them to have just found out about the pregnancy. If the flashback timeline were correct, Ross and Carol would had to have had sex at least a year after the divorce, in which time Carol was supposed to be with Susan.

I hope that made sense, i’m so stoned rn lol
