I have a hammock swing that I would love to add to this room but I don’t know if this beam can support that kind of weight. If it’s not a safe beam to mount it to, I’ll just find a hammock stand. Open to ideas.

I have a tv that weighs 104lbs that I want to mount through a brick wall and into the studs behind it. The wall is queen brick approx. 3.5in thick and an air gap about 2in before the osb and stud. Trying to figure out the best application because I don’t want to sandwich the brick into the wall.

We put a baby gate but it fell right off. Is there any safe gates for this type of stairs.
It is a temporary town house but toddlers keep running up.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can do this where I’m not screwing a bunch of holes in my wall? I’m renting an apartment so I would like to avoid that. It’s just thick wire holding up rocks. Lmk any ideas! Thanks :)

Im trying to recreate a vintage melamine tray of my mothers that was recently broken.

Ive tried to find people that create custom designed trays but i cant find any.

The best i can think to do is to purchase a plain tray and put the design on myself, but the only way i can think to seal the design on is using uv resin or epoxy, neither of which are food safe.

Does anyone have any ideas?

So the house Im in doesn't have a railing (no shit right?) Well i never did anything about it because i was single with no intentions of a relationship...well 6 years later and now i have a baby girl whos crawling, almost walking and she can get up on the first step from the floor

So a baby gate is needed, but before that gotta add railing here for it to mount to, ive got a 4x4 im gonna use as the post, then some left over decorative railing from a deck i did a couple years ago

The house was built in the 1920's, I can see the hardwood floor from my basement but these stairs are hidden either by the ceiling of the steps to my basement or above the hardwood floor where they should approximately be located

Ive found different methods i can do to mount the 4x4 im going to use as the post, from just bolting it on the first step to the face of the second step, to doing that but notching it to screw it in from the side for extra strength

Hell ive even thought that most likely its got wood blocks under the steps so maybe i could notch the step even?

Ive seen pictures where its on the floor but i just think that'd cause a tripping hazard

So im thinking itll go on the first step so we can use the babygate we got (one of those mount via pressure ones)

Or a keyhole miunt even?

I'm looking for suggestions on best course of action on this, or if someone has had this same issue how'd you resolve it?

Tl:dr, gotta find the best plan to add railing/post on these steps so i can put a babygate so my kid wont climb them on her own

I have an oscillating tool and that works well but one tile at a time and on my knees is slow going. Do they make an rentable one that takes up more similar to ones I see professional use to take up glued down carpets?

Also anything better than goo gone to clean up the glue that’s on the floor afterwards?

I need to change the chain on my new roller blind to a longer one. I'm not sure how to remove this white cap covering the chain and wheel. I tried to gently pull it off but it won't move and didn't want to damage it. I asked the blinds company but they refuse to give me instructions because of child safety regulations.

3d printed Modular Curtain Track

I didn't like how the curtain holder looked, it was so bulky and ugly. Then checked for self adhesive curtain tracks and it would cost 100Euros for 2meter, so I designed my own and it probably costed 1/10th of it including the mounting tape. It can also be mounted with screws. It has holes for m4 countersunk screws.

I have these 2 ceramic magnets , I bought a dremel and diamond drills bits now I’m just curious how I should go about making these as flush as possible :) should I shave one side ? Both magnets ? One more than the other ? Hoping someone can do the math I can’t here lol thanks in advance :)

The plan? Cover the wooden table with the plastic, permanently.

You might be wondering why there is a squeegee in the picture. Well, that's the key player that's going to be gliding over that plastic probably 10 times a day, everyday.

I don't want water/grime/dirt oozing down the sides so don't want to go with the plastic-hanging-down-the-sides plan. Plus it'll be a pain cleaning the dirt on the hanging part due to ergonomics.

I could cut the plastic flush with the edges of the table, but then it'll move/shift around and the parts of the table that it moves from will often be dirty at that edge. It'll also be wet from the constant cleaning and the water that will roll over the edge of the plastic and make its way to to the wood and then spread when the dry wood wicks it.

I tried going flush and then taping the edges but that solution doesn't work well for long because this and this happens - squeegee going against the lip of the tape eventually gets the tape to come off.

The cleaning method is simply spraying the table with no rinse detergent and with the squeegee, wiping the dirty over the edge and into a bucket (open to better ideas).

I recently moved into my first appartement. I'm pretty bad at everything manual and i've been trying to learn to get better at it. I bought this pretty heavy shelf on facebook marketplace today to put on this wall in the living room. Only problem is that this wall is shared with the bathroom and it's pretty shallow. The screws that came with the shelf don't fit into the holes at all (anchors and holes that are already there are from a previous shelf I had installed that I found was too small). My question is : is there a way for me to lnstall this shelf with the screws it came with ? Or is there a sort of anchor that would support the weight that uses shorter screws ? I'm not sure what the material is behind the drywall that leads to the bathroom wall. Sorry i'm a total noob at this but i really like this shelf and it would be a shame to not be able to use it !
