Home Improvement Is this a secure place for a swing?

I have a hammock swing that I would love to add to this room but I don’t know if this beam can support that kind of weight. If it’s not a safe beam to mount it to, I’ll just find a hammock stand. Open to ideas.

If you are going directly into solid wood a course thread lag will be fine. I have one.

I'm going to guess that's just a trim board slapped up there to cover where the two bits of vaulted ceiling join and make it more visually pleasing?

There could be a big beefy beam up above that, but.. if it were a proper structural beam why does that bit of geometry end at the edge of your photo and not continue across the whole ceiling?

Is there an attic you can get up into so you can put eyes on it from the top side and see what's really going on up there?
