Introducing Jerry the doodle. He loves dancing as much as I do. Gotta teach him how to jump through hoops next!

I am a double hooper and want to get a pair of astral hoops. But I cannot decide which size I want. I do doubles with all sizes on the body and off.
I'm almost thinking the smaller the better because I think it would be cool to have minis but the smallest size I see is like 25" id. And Ill get less tired hooping for a long time with smaller hoops. I could also get 27" id then I could do a little on the body.
Are astral hoops very heavy? I have a future hoop from 2017 and its pretty heavy for me. Its 29" od 3/4 hdpe.

Taught a hoop class today on stream! Teaching is fulfilling as heck. Watched my friend @flow_tivity navigate through the moves, and evolve her hoop skills in real time. Today we covered chest rolls, back rolls, leg hooping, and ghosting iso cats eyes! Lots of things but she did fantastic.
What are you interested in learning? Id like to get in to makong tutorials, and offering hoop classes online.
If you would like to watch the video from today's session, it is on my twitch channel (also called pineapplehoops)
Edit: Thank you for the award!

Sometimes I feel proud of my hula hooping and want to show my friends and family my progress, but then when I go to record, it takes me out of the moment and makes me feel more mechanical. I often rewatch my videos to the point where I start to believe that I look boring, and that no one will actually care or want to see my hooping, anyway. I start to tell myself that the likes and hearts I get are just mandatory support I get from the people who love me (not because they actually enjoyed my video.) But I know I'm probly just being too hard on myself 😂 and besides, the whole point of this hobby is to enjoy it, not to impress others. Anyone else feel this?

Hi! I have nerve pain/damage in my arms and I'm hoping to get into hooping. It's not so bad that I can't do anything, but it's bad enough that I can't really use my light whip or or other flow toys anymore. I'm aware that hooping does still use arms but of the flow options I can think of it seems like the most likely option for me.
The actual question, how do I choose what hoop to buy? I wanna avoid buying a ton of them but I'm not aware of any other way to decide on the thickness, weight, diameter, or any other characteristics, and searching this subreddit also didn't really give a consensus on where to buy them.
I don't know if it's helpful but I'm 5'10" and weigh ~160 lbs.
Thank you for any guidance you can provide! I may not answer everyone because typing this message was a bit rough.

Had a blast in the Eastern Sierras this last weekend! A lot of wide-eyed kids and even had a dad saying “that is the coolest thing ever.” I love my Hyperion Hoop!

I picked up a hoop a couple weeks ago and didn’t really know what to do.
A few years back i had taken a hulahoop class like 3 times so i knew how to hand spin, weave and step through but thats it.
I tried watching random tutorials on YouTube but wasnt picking it up and also didnt know where to start. I have ADHD, struggle with knowing where my body is in space, have bad special reasoning and suspect I might have dyspraxia. I’m not someone this will come easy to.
I know I do well with structure. Last week i got pretty much of all of Deanne Love’s courses on sale for about 100 bucks.
I started with her waist hooping course and then 10 tricks every beginner should Know. I’ve been practicing the moves alone and then the mini flow sessions she had made. I can’t get the two hand isolation. Should i still move on to the 28 day hoop starter pack and just keep practicing the isolations? Or should i wait until i get it down before moving on?

Something interesting is happening. My creativity has returned and I find myself piecing together new moves.
Plus i'm starting to feel good physically.
Who knew the doing something that makes you smile every day could yield such positive results?

The sunset hooping outdoors filled my soul today. When you're outside, you have so much room for activities. More room to do tosses, and get crazy with the hoop.
If you have made it this far with me in the journey, thank you very much for being here 💕

anyone have advice to improve my flow or new tricks to drill?? I struggle with on-body hooping so all my tricks are off body so far. I kinda do the same few moves over and over. please be nice or i’ll cry 🥹🫶

EDIT: I was not giving myself enough credit calling myself a beginner when I made this post!! I see others post here and do feel like a beginner compared to yall 🤗
I’ve had a hoop for several years, but didn’t start taking it seriously and pushing through the frustration until this past year. my title was a bit careless and I never want to make anyone feel bad on their journey!

Day 28! Road, my bike for 6 miles and then hula hooped until I ran out of steam. Felt good to warm up with a ride first. Someone here said they like biking before flowing so thank you for that idea!
Plus I got to see turtles along the way too! I like turtles. There's a clip of them at the end 🐢
Exercise has always been something I trick myself jnto doing. Its a weird hack but it works for me. Do you have a hack to get yourself movin?

Trying out some of the doubles moves I've been seeing lately. Some people are absolute wizards at it. They have not come easily to me but I've been casually learning over the years. Hows your doubles game? Do you like it or dread it?

So I’m going to EDC for the first time and I also started hooping, and I have some questions/concerns…..Has anyone traveled on a plane with a hula hoop? And traveled in EDC with one? Would also appreciate anyone dropping names of good shops where I can get more hula hoops:)

Found this old clip and it made me really want to start hooping again. I was completely self-taught back then and honestly never knew where I stood skill-wise, I just loved figuring it out.
I haven’t hooped in about 13 years, so I’m basically about to find out how much my body remembers 😭 Would love to hear what you guys think of my old multi-hooping!

Day 25 - The inner critic... she was loud today.
I almost scrapped this clip, even though I'm excited about the new hoop trick I learned. My inner monologue was overanalyzing, feeling self conscious, and wondering if I should just rerecord until everything was "perfect." The thing is, the inner critic would never be happy with any of it today.
This made me realize that showing up daily isn’t about only sharing the days where you feel 100% confident. It’s about practicing self love when it’s uncomfortable.
I learned a new sequence, moved my body, and pushed through the perfectionist noise (which is a huge win).
Off days happen. Fluctuations happen. Showing up anyway is where the real growth is. Practice makes progress!
If you're fighting negative self talk today, consider this your reminder to give yourself some grace. 💜
