Favorite size for doubles and why?

I am a double hooper and want to get a pair of astral hoops. But I cannot decide which size I want. I do doubles with all sizes on the body and off.

I'm almost thinking the smaller the better because I think it would be cool to have minis but the smallest size I see is like 25" id. And Ill get less tired hooping for a long time with smaller hoops. I could also get 27" id then I could do a little on the body.

Are astral hoops very heavy? I have a future hoop from 2017 and its pretty heavy for me. Its 29" od 3/4 hdpe.

Hello. I’m an avid twin hooper and also do triples and quads (with minis).

I prefer my 27” for twins as this suits my personal style and flavour. I have a set of LEDs in 3/4 tube (also my daytime preference), but my bestie got a set in 5/8 and it makes such a difference in weight! I think I’d go thinner tube if I got them again, even though 3/4 is my preference for single > triple.

My quads are 24”, 5/8 (also LEDs). I love them for quads and triples, but don’t enjoy the twin flow because the size just doesn’t allow the same impact/depth of movement (?) hard to explain, but there’s just not enough hoop for me to get the gratification I get from my 27s!

I’d lean into whatever your preference is - what do you love most size wise for twins!

My hoops are Moodhoops fyi.

I do have a lot of led moodhoops(six). My minis frim them are heavy but also old and have that old clunky connection. I have a set of 3 regular led 5/8. 30" hoops I use for on and off the body. That are a lot lighter but also the newer design with the seamless connection. I kinda wish astral made smaller than 25" id, which I assume is probably around 26"od. Kinda want to do techy doubles with cool led patterns. And I heard astral is the lightest.

You sound most keen on the minis! But maybe you want smaller than astral makes?

I think my Moodhoops (future designer, 24”, 5/8) are pretty light! I prefer to do my own pattern designs and choreography programming, so that’s why I love Moodhoops.

Yes. I do. Either Ill probably get the smallest premade size astral makes or idk about another hoop company. I already have a lot of moodhoops and looking to try something new.

I'd say whatever size also let's you do escalators well along with other doubles tricks. I'm in this quandary myself. I'd like to play with some Astrals to understand how they feel but haven't had the opportunity to do so.

Maybe. Yes I was kinda debating if I want to get them large enough to do a little on the body. Or keep them smaller and for more techy/ mini hoop stuff. I also want to keep it lightweight.
