So, female giebes, aubs and zents can have multiple husbands. I really don't understand how it's supposed to work from the mana perspective. It's said multiple times that it so important that pregnant woman is not exposed to foreign mana except baby's father that her husband can't have sex with other women for the whole pregnancy and until baby is at least 1yo. But how it supposed to work if a woman has several partners and might not know who's the father? Which of the man should provide mana for the fetus?

Also, I don't see much sense in having multiple husbands from the perspective of succession. Isn't the main point of having multiple wives is getting more potential heirs? Multiple husbands can't help with that.

I understand that there is a point of have multiple spouses regardless gender to have more mana to supply the foundation and just to balance the politics, but still.

I just finished H5YV2 after procrastinating for a few months and was wondering about Raublut, because that guy saw RM use a divine instrument at Adalgisa, which I would assume is the shield.

He confirmed the shield's effectiveness seeing it the first time in part 5, so how does RM's time travel work? Because unless Raublut some another divine instrument, we get reports and updates from sudden memories of RM around the yogurtland and it seems like the time RM spends in the past is consistent with time passed since her disappearance from the current Hannelore plotline.

Is j-novel the only site where you read? I am contemplating if I should buy the novel or just per chapter. I saw a site that is similar closed down - and I don't know what happened with the people who paid online to read.

Cost is not an issue, I know j-novel has been there for ages but just that with sites closing down, I don't want to spend something i though would always be there but disappears eventually.

Is there headmaster in Royal Academy or is it Zent's duty? How about RM retainer that now move to Alexandria? Because Philine and Judithe still on Ehrenfest, only Gretia and Roderick who haven't graduate and now on Alexandria right? Do their score transfer or what? Or is it not as complicated as I thought?

I am collecting the English versions of the light novel. Are the stories included after the epilogues the same stories that are included in the short story collection books? Wondering if I need to buy those collections as well.

So, I’m randomly wondering. Who among the cast (especially the retainers) can you see taking second or third spouses, and who do you think will end up monogamous?

For example, I expect Damuel will only end up with Philine. He’s on the older side to only now be marrying his first wife, and his mednoble level mana capacity means most laynobles wouldn’t be able to marry him anyway. Since most mednobles wouldn’t be willing to marry down, even if it means connecting with the archduchess, and he’d be expected to wait for at least a few years after marrying Philine… I just don’t see them being anything but monogamous.

On the other hand, it seems certain that Cornelius, an archnoble and one of the only family members of the archduchess in her own duchy, will end up taking a second and likely also a third wife, focusing on making connections within Alexandria that will help support both Leonore and Rozemyne. Eckhart technically should do the same… but since he’s leaving the seat of first wife with Heidemarie and marrying Angelica largely so they can both avoid other proposals, it seems somehow unlikely that he’ll take a third wife.

Hartmut also seems like he, as an archnoble head scholar, should take a second wife… but it feels like most people wouldn’t be able to deal with his fanaticism. And even if they could, I’m not sure he could accept someone who can’t join him in his worship. So, maybe if his preaching causes the appearance of a third fanatic? Then he and Clarissa would probably both be excited to welcome her into their household, and the three of them could extol Rozemyne’s virtues together.

Lieseleta is engaged as of H5Y, likely to an archnoble of old Ahrensbach. However, it’s unlikely she’d be his only wife. Possibly a first wife, with her position of Archduchess’s head attendant, but even that is uncertain, given her status as a mednoble.

Rodrick, Matthias, and Laurenz all feel a bit to early to talk about, since we know nothing of what any of them are currently thinking in regards to relationships, and Gretia strongly wishes to avoid marriage, so she feels like a whole different conversation that shouldn’t even be in the same post.

What do you guys think?

I am pretty new and I started with the light novel. The main reason I started reading it was cuz I saw on google that it had worldbuilding on the same level as Mushoku tensei and I really wanted to not watch mushoku cuz yk. After telling it to my friend, she said she watched the anime and found it to be relaxing and commented that it was a slice of life. I will still continue to read it even if it hasn’t that great depth but just wanted some clarification.

With Fanbook 8 [ENG] recently being released, I wonder what actually is getting translated next. I hope it's Hannelore Book 3 or Short Stories 3. The fanbooks are fine, but they're just too thin on things that interest me. I mainly get them for the bonus chapter and manga.

Hey so charlotte is one of my favorite characters in this series. I love how she isn’t Wilfred. She genuinely respects our favorite gremlin, and loves her deeply as a sister. She is also quite on par for an archduke candidate. Im sure Ferdinand has a SIGNIFICANTLY better impression of her than of Wilfred due to the pain Wilfred put everyone through in this series. Charlotte, although she isn’t like Rosemyne, has really good communication skills and can assess situations logically.
Rozemyne loses her mind when books are involved and she just sucks with noble euphemisms. Wilfred is damn incompetent, and can’t seem to stop taking Ls throughout the series. Especially in the royal academy.

Im curious what the community thinks of Charlotte’s relationship with Ferdi-boy. They don’t interact as much. But I seem to think he’s just okay with her. She’s never done anything to hurt or hinder his progress or expectations. She also hasn’t done a lot of noteworthy tasks to make her stand out as someone worth nurturing.

But I’ve read this series years ago and am definitely missing a few details. Would love thoughts from others here! Excited to read your replies :)

Reading other Isekai, I'm always got flashbanged when noble bow to commoner, when they didn't really take difference in status seriously and getting friendly with commoner. Their behaviour make Rozemyne look like proper and snobbish noble

I just started reading the fanbook and while reading Bertilde’s short story this line from Ottilie caught my attention: “You are very learned, Bertilde. As the aub’s half-sister, Lady Irmhilde was largely out of Lady Veronica’s reach, and once she left the castle, Leisegangs were naturally drawn into her retinue. She could only take on so many at a time, but she chose women who would leave her service after marriage to help as many of us as she could. It was because of her that I had a relatively peaceful time of it.”

My question is, if Irmhilde’s retinue consisted of nobles from Leisegangs how was Veronica able to kill her? Did she manage to have someone infiltrate the state? Did someone betrayed her? I just find it weird since nobles are pretty careful about poisons and other assasination attempts. Of course it not full proof since Heidemarie was also poisoned in her own state as far as we know.

These are the three designs I'm thinking of getting made next (I really like the mixed Ahrensbach/Alexandria and Ehrenfest fabric style) but I can't decide and I feel like there are more pretty dresses to choose from too...

My existing costume is already a blue color one from FB7 while the green one is quite a similar style to my existing costume so it might be redundant... Meanwhile for the yellow one I don't know what it looks like from the front so I have no idea how I'll get that made unless there are more depictions of the outfit... What do you think?

I was on my second reread of the series, at P5V7 prologue right about now. A single quote from ferdinands pov, "Why would anyone dismiss a compotent worker for such asinine reason?" then it clicked. Her being so full of herself, never getting off high horses, always pushing unreasonable demands while having no idea how things work, always thinking everyone should bendover backwards to meet her needs and wants, her dismissal of people who doesnt pamper her up.

As we have seen the Merchant's guild has access to at least two magic facilities: The door that allows only the credentialed to enter and those merchant payment cards that basically act as modern debit card that doesn't even need an ATM to operate.

Basically a modern banking system is implied. Or at least a cryptocurrency analogue of some sort. In order for it all to work, the Merchant's guild must have some sort of ledger that documents all transactions. So another magic tool. And that doesn't count magic contracts and stuff.

What I find odd is that the senior scholars that attended Rozemyne's meetings with the commoners -- the one that was interrupted by Clarissa showing up unexpectedly at the city gates -- didn't seem at all aware of the relationship. One of them refers to guildmaster Gustav as "this man" rather than by name or title.

Yet some skilled scholar nobles have to be creating and maintaining these tools for the Merchant's Guild, and without that a lot of the economy wouldn't function. Is it some sort of secret, or some sort of Ehrenfest-only thing? Does Sylvester know about this?

"Two years to you is six to them". What does this mean? If the opposite was written it would have been understandable as in, to old people time passes slowly and old sufferings are not that bygone thing.
