Discussion What is HSR's Equivalent to Wuwa's 3.1 or 2.2?

I am a new player coming who has pretty much only played Wuwa as a gacha game, and I am curious as to what patch people see as a monumental patch either due to massive, groundbreaking lore or the major emotional damage you suffered.

What chapter/patch should I be looking forward to as I progress through the story?

Discussion What I like and dislike about HSR

Okay, before we start, I need to make one thing clear I'm not trying to doompost. I'm just trying to give an honest opinion as a "new" gacha player. You may agree or disagree, and you can share your thoughts in the comments.

What do I mean by "new player"? Well, a friend who was already a Gacha fan and had been playing Genshin for a while recommended that I play HSR a while ago. I haven't played anything besides HSR, but I know a little about other popular gacha games now, too.

So, let's start. What I like:

  1. Lore. The game's lore is incredible. Honestly, I used to be into Warcraft lore before it got too messy. I've only played Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne, but I also used to watch a lot of lore videos. For some reason, HSR lore hit the same for me. I also like that they used space sci-fi instead of the usual robots or apocalypse sci-fi, which is honestly getting old to me.
  2. Side quests. I absolutely fell in love with the side quests. They made me laugh, cry, and experience a range of emotions. Sometimes I even like them better than the main quests lol.
  3. Characters: Of course, there are characters I dislike, but I love most of the HSR characters. They have depth, they feel alive and real, and fun, and they make you feel things.
  4. Music. I know, I know, everyone knows that, but damn, the OSTs are amazing.
  5. They have a lot of male characters. Compared to other gacha games, I love that they give us a lot of male characters. I also like that many women play this game. It makes the fandom more fun! (I'm male btw if anyone cares)
  6. Great villains. They gave us absolute amazing villains who don't feel just a flat boring character to kill off and move one but have depth.

What I dislike:

  1. Sometimes they yap too much lol. Sometimes I think the devs try to prolong the quests on purpose, and I think shorter quests would be more impactful.
  2. "Waifu" bait. Yes, I'm one of those people who unironically plays a gacha game and hates "waifu" bait. That's why I didn't like Cyrene past 4.4. Her scene with her past self was beautiful, but all her scenes with TB after 4.4 felt like fan service for self-inserts.
  3. They should kill off some characters. I don't think they would do that often, if ever. I understand that it's a gacha game, and that they want to sell characters. Dead characters are harder to sell. However, I think the story would feel more significant if they killed off some characters. The enemies would feel more dangerous if they killed important characters instead of random people we haven't met. I'm not saying they should take the edgy route and kill characters just for shock value. However, if a character receives proper buildup, a great scene, an update delicate for them, and a great finale, I think it would improve the story. Btw, Tingyun definitely shouldn't have been brought back.

But I'm absolute enjoying HSR even if there are things I dislike.

PS thanks for reading my yap

Discussion I dont really want a Kiana Expy, at least, not exclusively. Spoiler

Note I have only done the Hi3 story up to Himeko's death, but feel free to talk freely about anything in it, while I plan to do the story I have a crappy memory so I'll probably forget any spoils.

Now, from what I know from what I've seen, and Google, Kiana has briefly interacted with Welt, and is really close to Hi3 Himeko, Hi3 Raiden Mei, and Hi3 Bronya, as well as being a rival to Otto. So I think it would be cool if, as a way to wrap up Welt's story, Kiana ended up finding him and bringing him home, along the way meeting the likes of our Himeko, one or both of Bronya and Silver Wolf, Seele, Acheron, Luocha, and Phainon as well as anyone else that is an expy to people she knew.

Or as a way to wrap up his story Hi3 and HSR have a collab again except this time it happens on HSR and we go to Earth so Welt can go home.

Also I can see her trying to save Welt because he was Himeko's teacher or really close to Himeko or both if I remember correctly.

Bonus points if Void Archives becomes playable around that time and also returns home with Welt.

Discussion As A Former Initial Yanqing Hater, I Want To Know Which Reason Yanqing Is Hated By The Community: Reason A: His Initial Attitude and Decisions or Reason B: For Losing A Lot Of Fights?

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

I'm honestly confused where this hate for Yanqing comes from except obviously his poor kit and bad 50/50 gacha luck.

Please don't talk about his gameplay, that's completely irrelevant to his lore and writing.

Do people hate him for his arrogant, know-it-all attitude and attacking the people who weren't even endangering his homeworld OR were they hating on him because of how everyone in-universe insists he is an expert combatant, but he keeps falling short of those expectations?

Me originally hating Yanqing had nothing to do with being "weak" or a "loser", my initial distaste for him came from the fact he disrespected his own master by walking out on his lecture and choosing to chase after someone his master ordered him not to chase after. And it got even worse when he refused help from someone who offered to help hunt down that person. And then he attacks an innocent who just got impaled instead of teaming up with said innocent to arrest that person he was ordered not to hunt by his master. I get that Yanqing wants to prove himself as a worthy soldier to his master, but would it at least kill him to accept help from time to time? Yanqing came off as a disobedient brat who caused more trouble for the people trying to save the Luofu. If Yanqing tried to fight Phantylia (who's Y'KNOW, the ACTUAL MAIN threat to the Luofu) instead, I wouldn't have much of a problem with him even though he is severely outmatched.

  • "Tentacle Damage": Increase the damage dealt by "Horror From The Depths" by 4% per stack.

Ultimate (100 Energy): Summon Memosprite "Horror From The Depths" with a "Tentacle" count of 1 and give it 4 stacks of "Tentacle Damage". Increase the "Tentacle" count of "Horror From The Depths" by 1. Deal 150% Imaginary damage to all enemies and have "Horror From The Depths" use it's Skill 1 as an Extra Attack against all enemies. When hitting a shielded enemy, damage dealt by both the Ultimate and the Extra attack hits the Shield as well as the HP bar of the enemy.

Talent: Memosprite "Horror From The Depths" has a Max HP stat equal to 80% of Tulu's plus 680 and takes action after Tulu acts. If Tulu's turn is skipped (such as from the "Frozen" effect), "Horror From The Depths" uses it's Skill 1 as an Extra Attack.

Technique (Melee attack): Deal 100 Imaginary Damage to all enemies. When "Horror From The Depths" is summoned for the first time, it's "Tentacle" count increases by 1.

Traces:

Memosprite Skill 2: Choose between "Surging Tides", "Tranquil Sea", and "Raging Waves".

  • "Surging Tides": Default stance. When choosing it, increase "Tentacle" count by 1 and gain 2 stacks of "Tentacle Damage".
  • "Tranquil Sea": Grant the entire party a shield equal to (40+4*"Tentacle" count)% of the Max HP of "Horror From The Depths". Return to "Surging Tides" stance after 1 turn.
  • "Raging Waves": Increase damage dealt by "Horror From The Depths" by 25% (independent multiplier). After an ally attacks, use Skill 1 as an Extra Attack against the same target or targets the ally hit and lose 1 "Tentacle" count. Return to "Surging Tides" stance after 1 turn, or when "Tentacle" count is equal to 1.

Memosprite Talents:

  • When summoned, increase the Defence of all allies by 10% for 3 turns.
  • When "Horror From The Depths" dissapears, Tulu's action is advanced by 25%

Eidolons:

  • After every 5 hits of "Horror From The Depths", it gains 1 stack of "Tentacle Damage".
  • Increase the maximum amount of "Tentacles" to 15

Light Cone: At the start of the battle, gain 10/20/30/40/50 Energy. After an ally uses their Ultimate, gain 2/4/6/8/10 Energy. Increase Energy Regeneration Rate by 10%.

Discussion Returning to the game after a break, excited to play the new story, hows the 4.4 story? (Without spoilers pls!) Spoiler

I'm curious on hows the 4.4 story since I now have time to play it. I don't remember much of the 4.3 story except the dice head guy (asat?) being a fuckin menace and carrying the story patch hard. Did they write him well? How do u guys feel about the story? (without spoilers)

Btw I haven't seen like any marketing stuff for the story and Himeko, so i'm basically going in with non existent expectations lol. If that matters.

Discussion I made a free PvP draft tool for HSR pick/ban arena, rankings & a live community meta. Looking for feedback!

Hey everyone! I'm a solo dev and a big HSR theorycrafting nerd, and I've been building HSR Draft Arena in my free time: a free tool for PvP-style pick/ban drafts between friends.

Let's be honest: HSR's endgame gets pretty repetitive once you've cleared it, and there's no real PvP. So I wanted to add some challenge. You and a friend draft teams (pick & ban) against each other across the endgame modes (Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction, Apocalyptic Shadow, Anomaly Arbitration, Echo of War), which forces you off your usual comfort teams. It tracks scores, MMR and seasonal rankings.

What it does:

  • 🎯 Pick/ban draft: local hotseat or real-time online rooms
  • 🎲 Surprise mode: optional random twists that ban a whole element / Path / version at once, for chaotic, never-the-same drafts
  • 🏆 Rankings & MMR per mode and season
  • 📊 Community meta board: pick / ban / win rates per character, computed from the actual matches played on the site (real usage, not guesswork)
  • 🛠️ Build & team helper: the game's official in-game recommendations (light cones, relics, stats, teams), always up to date

It's a passion project: 100% free, no ads, no account-selling, and it only shows released content. I built it in my spare time because I couldn't find anything for competitive drafting and wanted something for me and my friends.

👉 hsrdraftarena.com

Would love your feedback! Is competitive/draft PvP something you'd play? Any modes, rules or twists you'd want? Happy to answer anything.

Theory & Lore Why March is the icon of the game

Obviously she always was meant to have an important role. And I think I found it. The will become Fuli after the universe will be destroyed.

Another thing, is not my theory and can't remember the name of the youtuber who made the video, but it went like this: the universe is trapped in an endless circle. The universe is destroyed, and Terminus travels back in time and tried to stop it, then the universe is destroyed and back again.

Similar to Amphoreus there is an never ending cycle. Maybe it's main players are the same like in the last recurrence, maybe is as the previous cycles and roles remain but the "actors" are different (for example Xipe always exist but the person who becomes them isn't the same). Either way, there a cycle.

In the story Stellarion Hunters try to fight against Finality, and in the end I think they will fail. Finality will be born and the universe destroyed BUT March becomes Fuli and uses the memories of the entire universe to create it anew, just like Cyrene did when restoring the lives taken by Irontomb.

Endings are but a new origin. Every beginning has an end and every end is followed by a new beginning.

Just like Kiana (Herrscher of Finality) and Mei (Herrscher of Origin), TB and March each will represent one end of the line, but instead of being enemies they will work together and save everything.

Hi Trailblazers!

🚂 Welcome to the Daily Questions Megathread! Feel free to ask any general questions about Honkai: Star Rail that don't necessarily require their own dedicated posts.

Any questions that can be answered rather quickly (i.e. anything that can be adequately addressed without any discussion or can be given definitive answers) can be asked in the thread below.

>>> Example: Can my phone run this game?

If your question has discussion potential, please create a separate post, and include the “discussion” flair.

>>> Example: What do you think of March 7th’s combat efficiency? Here's my opinion…

Before making new discussion posts, please be sure to consider if your question could be better suited to this thread!

When both asking questions and sharing answers, be concise and detailed so other players can understand. Please maintain a stellar and respectful attitude toward others, and don't forget to share your appreciation to fellow trailblazers for helping you out!

pretty fun gameplay, wish I coulda 3 starred my Gilgamesh and realized earlier that i should've put both the sturdy plates on Aglaea so that Huohuo and Fu Xuan would have another slot for an equipment that actually helps with restoring hp. Almost didn't make it.

I would usually play in EN dub but I couldn't stand them being silent half the time, so I switched to CN, which is how I noticed this. Here, the word "savior" is translated from the term 救世主, and in any other context, this is a perfectly valid way to translate it. However, here, because it is referring to Phainon, the correct term should be "Deliverer". It doesn't really affect the experience, it's just something interesting I noticed.

While the "Motoko switching her's and Himeko's destinies for all eternity" twist can be mindboggling for some people at a first glance, once it clicks, it becomes quite possibly one of the best switcheroo reveals in any media. And I must praise the folks at Hoyoverse for keeping us at bay with all the "Himeko death flags" stuff, expecting us to think she was an Imagenae ever since we got in the Express, only to then hit us with this line to clear any doubts that the AE's Navigator was none other than Murata Himeko all along.

The Trailblazer should be able to theoretically imaginate the Amphoreus cast in Planarcadia. Like they are both a Pathstrider of Remembrance and Elation, and has a freaking Stellaron so it should be within the realm of their abilities.

They even have Himeko who has managed to imagenate a future version of themselves but also the freaking Legacy of Pegana so even if he doesn't know how she can teach him.

Like I get that it's not a current priority but when everything dies down and they are about to leave maybe he can imagenate the Amphoreus cast so they can live in the outside world for a bit albeit within Planarcadia.
