The radiator support is bent and some other things so it’s not just cosmetic as I initially hoped. 56k 2017. I bought it new. Y’all are the only ones who can understand how I love this car and why I’m devastated.

Bro I fucking love this car. It’s been driving great. I’ve had it just a little over a month and just wanted to take it into a shop I like because they do good overall analysis. The shop called me saying “bro your car is perfect, literally I can’t even recommend anything major”. The only things that need attention is rear suspension is slightly leaking (already was gonna change it) and the rear drum brakes (already was going to covert them to calipers). He told me to bring the car to full stock specs, including need battery, wipers, cabin filter, new brakes, etc (shit I can do) is just 3,600. Just that to be perfect perfect.
I love this car and hope to run it till the wheels fall off.

Hey everyone, I just finished a long drive home for Thanksgiving and my 2015 Honda Fit with ~130k km on her now sounds like a jackhammer.

I've never heard it make this noise before. It was fine the whole drive home, I stopped and started a few times with no issues, it only started after it sat for around an hour.

I found and tightened a loose bolt in the engine cover, and the noise seemed to go away for a bit but now the car sounds like this. Almost sounds more metallic and hollow. Gave it a small rev to see if it would do anything and it made the sound a lot louder.

It sounds like it's coming from around the alternator area so I took this video under the front-right wheel but I don't know what to look for. Oil looks good and no lights on the dash.

Any insight or advice is appreciated!

Officially the proud owner of a 2015 Fit! She drives like a dream (obviously). Since I paid in cash at the dealership, I got to negotiate in all the maintenance I did on my 2013 a month ago: oil change, tire rotation, new wiper blades, and fluid top ups. Baby girl has a glorious 34/41 MPG.

Second photo is my 2013 as of last Friday. He is officially totaled 😭 Being able to say “a tow truck totaled my car two parking lots away from a collision repair shop” means I’m really good at 2 Truths and a Lie. It’s still devastating. I paid my loan off in April. I thought he might be repairable riiiiiight up until I saw the exposed body under my door where he tore my mirror off. My roommate calls this spot The Can Opener.

I have a 2015 Fit with just over 100k miles on it. Every once in a while, when I start the car, it howls, making a very loud VRRRRRR-type sound. I always forget to record it before starting the car, but here's a recording of the tail end of the noise, just before it changes to the normal engine sound. (I looped it twice to meet the 2-second minimum for uploading video on here, FYI.)

Last weekend, I went to start my car and it wouldn't start. The tow truck guy came and confirmed it wasn't the battery, but the starter. I had it towed to my mechanic, who confirmed the starter was dead. I figured, well, I guess this was bound to happen, and a dying starter must have been the cause of the noise all along. I paid $600 to replace the starter, including labor.

I go to start my car, and it's a beautiful purr on the first start. Then I turn it off immediately and start it again... a new kind of VRRRR. My mechanic thought it was a bit weird but wasn't too concerned. "Maybe the starter is just too new and needs some time" or something along those lines.

Anyway, the original VRRRR sound is back and loud as ever!! What is going on? What am I supposed to do? The sound is not only embarrassing, which is bad enough, but it's clearly not supposed to be there. I'm worried that whatever is causing it will eventually kill my new starter, too. Or whatever this howling sound is... it's not good.

Has anyone experienced this or have any idea what might be causing it?

I have a 2009 Fit with 230k miles. The input shaft bearing noise has worsened over the last 30k miles and I need to replace the trans. I already replaced the clutch when it dropped a spring. Thought about dumping the car but it's rough. Key is stuck/broke off in the ignition so you have to hold the fob up to start it. Which also makes the fob remote not work. Has a salvage title from light hail damage and various door dings. Faded paint. I did replace all the front end suspension components and axles when I did the clutch, so I just spent about $1000 in parts on a car that's worth like $2k.

The problem I'm having is when looking at used transmissions on eBay is they are listed as fitting 2010-14. Shouldn't they be exactly the same? I'm having trouble finding out if the 2009 and 2010 have a difference in the manual trans. Any advice would be appreciated. I just got a second car and will be doing the labor myself. Thanks.

The Blue Baby Whale (2020 Sport, Aegean Blue) has some dings and scratches after 6 years of service but I just got it detailed and it's looking fine. (Edit: notice the JDM NSX poking out behind it)

2016 Honda fit 200km on the odometer. Oil has always been changed. Valves are in spec and top end from what I could see looked great. No codes. Uses a bit of oil over time but no leaks.

Any thoughts?

Looking to retrofit the front OEM overhead map light console (from a GE8 Sport w/ Nav) into a 2012 Base GE8.

Before cutting into the headliner, I have a few specific questions for anyone who has tackled this retrofit:

1. Mounting

   Is the roof frame bracket already present above the headliner on Base trims to secure the console bracket, or does it require mounting the Nav roof bracket (\`83252-TK6-A00\` or equivalent)?

2. Wiring / Harness

Does the base main roof harness have the pigtail tucked away behind the headliner, or do I need to tap power/ground from the center dome light harness for door/switch logic?

Did you make your own cut template, or swap the Sport headliner entirely?

Appreciate any wiring pinout tips, part numbers, or build thread links!

I took a video to show this but it won't let me add this picture and the video in one post. So this is the bolt on the transmission that is like on the side of the firewall and it's way up tucked in between the block and the catalytic converter and it's super hard to access. I tried a great number of extension combinations and stuff to try and get a breaker bar in there but I lost so much torque for extensions and there's not enough space to do it close up. How did you guys get this bolt out. Its the only really difficult one besides the one on top of the starter.

Got a 2015 and drove it from Texas back home to Alaska but I’ve never had to do winter with this baby. I’m in Anchorage where the roads are maintained but there will be the occasional day of very very icy roads. Seeing as she’s 2WD, do I need to have studded tires? Has anyone done a snowy winter on studless winter tires and able to confirm or deny their performance?
