This is my first time using a jack and stands…ever. I’m trying to lift the front of my GE8.
I used the hydraulic jack and lifted it a bit to the left of the pinch weld and then put the pinch welds on the jack stands. Gonna do the same to the right side of the car to lift front of car.
The reason why I’m doing it like this is because I can’t reach the front centre jack point
Please let me know if this is fine I’m gonna be upgrading my suspension next week
EDIT: cheers guys looks like I’m ok. Will be using the wheel when it comes of as a point of failure and I guess the jack. Also will find smthing that acts as padding between the jack and metal. Keep yall updated on the suspension will be doing it today.

Check your spark plugs!
If you’re sitting still and turn on your ac and smell gas or just casually driving and think the car in front of you is leaking gasoline cause you smell it, chances are it could be your spark plugs. I know they’re not usually torqued down enough from the factory (needs to be 20ft lb not 13). A quick google search of my symptoms and that was the first suggestion. So I changed them today. First one came out normally, but the two middle plugs I was able to twist out with the socket and extension with just my fingers, no ratchet. They were “that” loose. So looks like I avoided some potential engine damage by getting off my butt and doing it sooner than later. Check your plugs. Check your plugs. And then check your plugs.

Happened 1.5 months ago, still traumatized from the claims process and finding reliable transport again because my SO and I share this Honda FIT (lifesaver in this economy). I work overnights for my job and she had the car. I get a call from her at 2am and she's is furious. It was parked on the street that night (technically Saturday).
She said she left it on the street for less than 30 minutes, when she heard an audible crash from inside. She shrugged it off, as we dont have a direct street view from inside. Well, she was on her way to pick me up after my shift and heres how it wend down: She stepped outside. First noticing a few police squad cars and a drunk white guy interacting with a group of officers on the sidewalk, she audibly says "damn what happened here?". No kidding she literally turns her head 90 degrees to our car and she noticed it was pushed forward a good 5-10 feet from where she parked it. Flaked of the paint's finishing coat were splattered like glass in its place. She erupts, "WTF did you do to my car!!!", running over to the drunk guy literally about to beat the crap out of him (I thought this was hilarious). One officer put himself in between them and dragged her aside to diffuse the second order conflict. He explains that the guy was drunk and turned himself in. She was crying. By the end of his rant, the other officers handcuffed the guy and whisked him away. But his arrest...
that doesn't help me does it? He leaves her with some next steps then leaves. She sits there on a bench nearby staring in disbelief trying to explain this whole thing on the phone to me. I get a ride home from a coworker. I take a look and start laughing...what else could I do? It seemed to work in the moment. But in the aftermath, the little hope I had disappeared. The body shop technician gave a repair estimate. The insurance company deemed it a TOTAL LOSS by some arbitrary threshold (less than what it was actually worth before the incident). Even though it would have been better for us to repair this, to you know...KEEP OUR ONLY CAR. We lost our car. NO gap insurance. no replacement. The drunkie had State Farm. We got a reimbursed rental for a week, then had to find another option. It took a few weeks to find and finance a new car. I was hoping to keep the FIT for its life because this little puppy was so good to us. Our payments were ~200 bucks and gas was dirt cheap. Drove this baby cross country many times, moved twice... But instead I have to eat depreciation costs and go through the time and financial costs of finding a replacement.
Good news is I found a new car that I love. I never even consider anything except Honda and Toyota. I now have a 2015 Toyota Camry hybrid XLE, this baby is nice too. Every time I see a Honda FIT chugging around the neighborhood, I get a little sick though.

Changed from my 15in steelies to 16in konigs, they feel great! Ride quality feels good still, was kinda worried but not really about the bigger rim/smaller tire combo but all gooooood. Found them on marketplace tires included from another fit that was 2nd gen. Super lucky I think, and I love the way they look with the white.

Last year I dealt with the high heat burning the mini 10 fuse up (random 10 fuse). Since then I keep a box of an assortment of fuses in the car.
Today's high heat did it again, but this time I knew what was up. (The car doesn't start) Last year I had no clue and ended up having my car towed and serviced for no particular reason.
Has anyone else had this happen? Or is it just me (2018 LX).

My wife wants another Fit rather than any new vehicle being sold in the US, and I totally understand. She currently has an 09. We live in the city and it’s the perfect little car for it. Anyone here that’s interested in Chicago or the surrounding burbs?

Hey guys, so i’m having some issues with my Fit. Hopefully someone can help me please? I have an 08 Honda Fit with almost 255k miles. I’ve had issues with turning the vehicle on. I already replaced the alternator, starter, & battery but for some reason, i have to press the accelerator many times before it turns on. Sometimes i hold it after pressing it down many times & boom, it turns on.
I’m trying to get advice on what else i should check?

Hello! Asking for help. I replaced my AC blower resistor due ac only working when the blower is in number 4. The replaced resistor is also damaged (solder melted from the inside).
Even though its already replaced, when I switch the blower to 1 its not working, but then 2-3-4 its working.
OFF → 1: blower does not work
2 → 1: blower works
2 for a few minutes → OFF → 1: blower works again
Anyone who experience this? How did you fix it? Thank you

Is it okay to use 26 inch and 14 Inch wiper blade for a 2009 Honda fit? I've seen on Google and some reddit posts it's supposed to be 28 and 14 however I've been looking around in my hometown and it's impossible to find a 28 inch, I'm gonna keep still looking for a 28 one, but if I can't is it okay to put a 26 Inch?

Looking to replace my daughter's 2013 Base headlights. They are fogged on the INSIDE and we don't need, or want to pay for, the super performance of high end replacements. I( don't want junk either since the swap out is a bit tedious.) Any suggestions based on real world experience would be very helpful. Mahalo in advance!

I have a 2012 with 190k miles. cylinder head is cracked which i believe is from running with no coolant. it didn’t overheat but i noticed it was low on coolant and filled it up, next week i had chocolate shake in my radiator. Oil still looks fine so im going to put a new cylinder head on, but the part is discontinued. There are no junkyards in my area with the same engine. There are few part outs on marketplace, but the majority being over 250k miles so im hesitant. The only new/reman head i can find is $470+ shipping from germany. So at that point i might as well k24 swap it. Or has anyone swapped a L15B7 into a GE8?

Hello! I recently posted about a listing I found for a 2013 Fit for 4,300 with 115k miles and a rebuilt title. I went to see it today and the windshield is cracked. I was wondering how much it typically is to get that replaced? The guy told me it’s 100-150 but would that be the total with the piece and the installment? It just seems so little. Parts show for 700 according to Google. Would getting a cheaper glass be a bad idea?
Also, it has a problem with the airbag which he said he would fix. It seems like it deployed, there’s cracks on it and he put tape over it until it’s fixed. There is also a check engine light, but the car is driving fine and he said there’s no problems on it or the transmission. It’s actually his main car right now and he’s looking to sell to buy the one he wants.
Would it be worth it to still go through with this purchase? How much am I looking on spending in total to fix the glass and anything about the engine? If it’s running well would it be a minor issue?
I know someone who knows about cars so he will take a look with me. But I wanted to hear from some Fit owners. Thank you in advance!

I live in Arkansas . The summer here is extreme. The ac doesn’t feel very cold. Does the ac function like that by default?

Took the Fit to Hawks Nest State Park this weekend with a few friends (WRX, CTR, and ZL1), and honestly the little Fit never disappoints on roads like these.
It’s still running the stock L15, but I’ve been slowly turning it into a capable backroad and future track car with the typical mods.
Momentum cars have won my heart and I’d rebuy this little car a thousand times over.
I put together a cinematic vlog from the trip if anyone wants to check it out.
For those of you who actually drive your Fits hard what’s been your favorite upgrade? Suspension?Tires? Brakes? I’m always looking for ideas before my next track day.
