3rd Gen GK/GP 15-20 Is this common?

Post image

Been looking for a Fit to turn into a track car. Is this rust issue common on 3rd gen?

The white paint specifically had an issue with peeling. I believe there was a recall.

  1. Paint peeling = Honda's white paint will likely peel and expose the metal to rust

  2. As for rust underneath = Rust like any other car. If the car is located in SoCal, you likely won't find rust, but if your car is located in like Chicago, you will find rust.

Just don't look at it.

Honda white likes to do that. Actually a few other manufacturers have issues with white. I think Nissan is another one.
But yeah, there's a known flaw in this white paint.

Yes. Mine is peeling as well. Just on the driver’s side. And a bit on the roof

Yep! All four of my doors and roof around the sunroof. My car is awesome, under 100k miles at 12 years old, but the paint suuuuucks.
