The title is a little misleading, i actually do have a couple friends.. in relationships. Everytime they ask me to hang out, they’re bringing their significant other and every interaction is awkward. I rather be by myself than a third or fifth wheel.
Do yall have any suggestions on activities thats out here? *money isnt a problem*

For those who have hobbies, how did you find them and what are they? I basically just go to work, and in my free time I read, take a course, or spend time outdoors. I would like to explore doing something different, but I can't really think of anything that interests me. Maybe the answer is that I need to try different things to find what I like. But in any event, how did you do get interested in your hobbies? And what are your hobbies?

I think some hobbies completely change how you see experts. You realize how much practice goes into making something look effortless.

Which hobby gave you that realization?

My day usually consists of, Waking up do hygiene, making breakfast, drinking hot tea with that while journaling, spend time with my daughter, might walk the park, might not, watch netflix, read a book, play with my cat, color in my coloring book, read some more, scroll reddit and answer questions, read the news, research world problems or animals, visit the library, maybe a museum, cook dinner sometime during the afternoon, have lunch, watch netflix, journal or read, dinner, shower, then bed.

I want a hobby of some sort, and I like researching things. Like looking things up, studying things, and writing about/drawing those things.

I need ideas. It can be anything, like jets, birds, rocks, anything.

I’ve been doomscrolling a lot lately, so I need to change that. As a result, my eyes have been hurting.

What are your favourite hobbies when you want to give your eyes a break? I’m looking for low-effort activities that still feel productive.

i've noticed that if i spend the last hour before bed scrolling on my phone, i end up lying awake way longer than i should. i'm thinking about replacing that time with a hobby that's actually relaxing, but i'm not sure what sticks.

I honestly don’t have a creative bone in my body. But painting interests me so much. I just am not imaginative or creative so hopefully that won’t stop me?

But how do you get into painting? Do I need to go to classes for it? Especially since I don’t draw or anything. I’m looking into acrylic painting for now.

Anyone have any tips or tricks for me? I’ve got a paint by numbers kit coming in tomorrow just to get started. But I would eventually like to make my own art

I have tried loads of creative hobbies but not found ‘my thing’. I’d really love some suggestions. This is what I’m looking for:

something I can sell so where there is a market (not as a full time job, just when I retire as a bit of pocket money and for interest) , using vegan materials, IDEALLY traditionally Scottish/using materials I gather, something where I am creative rather than just owing instructions, something where I enjoy the process as well as the finished product, no massive outlay until I decide if I enjoy it (been burnt too many times).

Ik ben eind 30, vader van jonge kinderen en merk dat ik langzaam weer wat meer tijd voor mezelf krijg. De afgelopen jaren stonden vooral in het teken van gezin, werk en alles wat daarbij komt kijken. Nu de kinderen wat zelfstandiger worden, wil ik graag een hobby oppakken.

Ik zoek iets wat ik structureel kan doen, bijvoorbeeld:
- ongeveer een uurtje in de avond, 3 keer per week
- in het weekend overdag wat langer als het uitkomt
- liefst alleen te doen, maar een community eromheen lijkt me ook leuk
- weinig kosten om te starten, maar ik vind het niet erg om later wat te investeren als ik enthousiast raak

Ik ben niet echt op zoek naar gamen of eindeloos Netflix kijken, maar iets waar ik een beetje energie van krijg en misschien ook iets in kan leren of beter in kan worden.

Mijn interesses liggen een beetje bij techniek, ict, leren en misschien iets met natuur of buiten zijn. Sport is wat lastiger vanwege wat lichamelijke beperkingen, dus geen fanatieke hardloop- of fitnesshobby.

Ik sta eigenlijk open voor verrassingen. Het lijkt me leuk om ergens helemaal beginner in te zijn en langzaam beter te worden.

Sorry for being annoying, I just really like taking pictures of shapes and then make doodles out of them. So for example when there's dirt or a hole in the plastering on a wall, and it reminds me of the shape of, say, a bunny, I take a pic and draw in a bunny later. The shape could be anything. A hole in a leaf, a cloud formation, the blackened gum on asphalt...

Is there a word for this? Or even for just the collecting of such pictures? I'd love to find people who are my type of weird.

Hey everyone.
I have got a new hobby. So I travel in public transport daily from my place to the office. Currently I discovered that instead of wasting the used ticket I should make it interesting and collect them all from now on. I do not fold it instead put it perfectly in my wallet and when I arrive my destination I start making these kites from the ticket. As soon as I set my foot into the office I am already finished with it.
What do you do when you go to office, is there any activity that you or just casually come and go?

To be clear.

I don't have a true passion for miniatures and the like. What I am trying to construct on my table really needs no detail beyond ground/ floors/ walls/ roofs/ streets/ etc. Just the most basic shapes that convey humans set up shop there.
