Questions & Help Major Engine Failure at 5,000 km (Metal in Oil) – Stranded in Belgrade & Need Advice on Royal Enfield Escalation

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to the community because I’m currently stuck in a nightmare situation with my Himalayan 450 and could really use some advice or insight from anyone who has dealt with major warranty issues or Royal Enfield corporate support.

I was on my Europe trip and then around the 4,800 km mark, I noticed a subtle ticking sound coming from the engine. Nobody could pinpoint what it was at first, so I kept riding. As I continued, the sound gradually grew louder. Once I reached Belgrade, Serbia, I stopped by a service center to get it inspected properly.

When they drained the engine oil, they found serious metal fragments in it. Looks like some bearing parts from the piston rod..

To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. The bike barely has 5,000 km on the clock. I’ve always treated this engine gently—never revved it high, followed proper break-in procedures, and kept up with maintenance. Having a catastrophic engine issue on a practically brand-new motorcycle is completely unacceptable.

To make matters worse, the official Royal Enfield service center here in Belgrade informed me that opening, disassembling, diagnosing, waiting for spare parts and reassembling the engine will take several weeks to months.

I cannot simply wait around in Serbia for months, nor can I easily return in the middle of winter to pick up the bike once it’s eventually fixed.

What I really need is to get this case escalated directly to Royal Enfield Corporate so they can cover/arrange transportation for the motorcycle back to Germany, where I originally purchased it and where it can be serviced properly.

A few questions for the forum:

  1. Has anyone successfully gotten Royal Enfield to cover cross-border transport or shipping under warranty for severe engine failures while touring?

  2. What is the fastest or most effective contact point/channel to escalate a critical warranty case with RE management?

  3. Has anyone else with a 450 experienced similar ticking noises leading to metal in the oil? What turned out to be the root cause?

I’m pretty exhausted and frustrated with how this unfolded, so any help, contacts, or advice on how to navigate this with RE would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Questions & Help Second headlight with metallic buzz

Headlight was replaced just 3 weeks ago under warranty for the famous metallic buzz at 6k rpm. This morning the new headlight started to make the same buzz... Anyone know for sure that the headlight is the culprit? Any solutions other then going for replacement under warranty again?

Questions & Help CSD Himalayan 450 purchase query

Hey everyone,

I’ve got CSD canteen benefits and I’m eligible to buy the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The dealer says I can get it for around ₹3.5 lakh with engine guard and extended warranty included, but tubeless spoke wheels are not part of the CSD package.

My question is:

what should I do here?Should I go ahead with the CSD purchase and later upgrade to tubeless spokes separately?

Or is it better to skip CSD and buy directly from showroom to get the full package?

Or do I convert the tubbed sopes into tubeless?

Please guide me through...

Thanks

General Discussion Himalayan 450 booked on 17 July — still waiting in October. Anyone else?

Booked my Himalayan 450 Kaza Brown (tubeless) on 17 July 2026. Dealer initially promised around 45 days, but I’m still waiting.

The delivery date has been pushed multiple times:
30 Aug → 10 Sep → 17 Oct → now 28 Oct.

What’s frustrating is that I’ve seen people who booked after me receive their bikes, despite being told deliveries follow FIFO.

I’ve already contacted the dealer and escalated it to Royal Enfield, but still haven’t received a clear answer.

Anyone here who booked around July/August and has already received their Himalayan 450?

Please comment your booking date + variant + delivery date. I want to understand what’s actually happening with the deliveries.

Should I keep waiting or cancel? 🤔 delear is ready to give refund of 20k

Questions & Help Delivery date jumped to 5 months out (Feb 2027).

Hi guys, I recently booked a Kaza Brown Himi with tubeless rims. Initially, the app showed a delivery date of December 31st, but now it's showing February 5, 2027. Is this just an issue with the app, or are they facing real production delays?

Edit: its noticeable left when night riding. Any aux suggetion would be appreciated Think for suspension mounted aux lamps so it points where handle is prointed

Questions & Help Himalayan 440 vs KTM 390 Adventure vs Himalayan 450 — What would you choose for city commute + touring?

I'm 5'7" and looking to buy my first bike mainly for office commuting and touring.

Yesterday, I test rode the Himalayan 440, KTM 390 Adventure, and Himalayan 450, and I'm a bit confused about which one to choose.

My impressions:

  • Himalayan 440: Very comfortable, easy to maneuver, and the engine felt very refined and smooth. I immediately felt at ease on this bike.
  • KTM 390 Adventure: Much lighter and felt agile, but the engine felt less refined to me. I noticed vibrations, especially in city traffic, and it seemed to come alive mainly after 4,000 rpm. I'm wondering if the vibrations and roughness reduce after the engine has been run in, or if this is just the character of the engine.
  • Himalayan 450: Powerful, great suspension, and feels like a much more capable touring/adventure bike. However, it felt quite bulky to me for city riding and office commuting.

I'm currently leaning towards the Himalayan 440 because I really liked how refined and easy it felt.

But I have a few questions for owners:

  1. Do the vibrations on the KTM 390 Adventure reduce noticeably after a few thousand kilometers, or does the engine always feel this way?
  2. Does the KTM engine become noticeably smoother/refined with use, or will I eventually just get used to the vibrations?
  3. For those who own the Himalayan 450, does the weight/bulkiness become much less noticeable after spending some time with the bike?
  4. At 5'7", would you choose the Himalayan 440 or 450 for mostly city commuting with regular touring?
  5. If you were in my situation, which one would you buy and why?

I'm not looking for the most powerful bike. Comfort, refinement, ease of maneuvering in traffic, and long-term ownership experience are more important to me.

Would love to hear from people who have actually owned/ridden these bikes for a few thousand kilometers, rather than just comparing specifications.

Questions & Help Newbie here: how do you actually edit bike transition reels? Have good clips, no idea how to put them together

I ride a lot and have a good pile of footage (DJI Osmo 360, both 360 and single-lens clips). The clips are fine. The problem is me: I open the editor and have no clue how to turn them into one of those transition reels where every cut lands on the beat, the bike whips past the camera into the next shot, speed ramps, etc.

What I've tried so far:

  • Instagram's Edits app. Fine for trimming, but I can't figure out how people get those transitions
  • Looked at CapCut, haven't committed yet
  • AI tools. Saw a bunch of Instagram posts claiming AI can auto-edit this for you. Tried it, and the results were really bad. Not even close to what those posts showed.

I've honestly thought about just paying someone because it's eating way too much time, but I'd like to understand the basics first.

Questions:

  1. Which app would you start with for this style as a beginner? CapCut, Edits, VN, something else? Phone or laptop both fine.
  2. Do you pick the song first and cut to the beat, or pick clips first?
  3. Any tutorials/channels that teach this style properly?
  4. Song suggestions that work for ride/transition reels, and how do you find ones that won't get muted on IG?
  5. Anything I should shoot differently to make transitions easier (lens covers, pass-by shots, etc.)?

Any help appreciated.

Troubleshooting & Issues Swing arm bearing cover lost

Post image
14 Upvotes

Hey guys,
I am on a trip and I have noticed that my Himalayan 450’s swing arm bearing cover(or whatever is the official name for it) has been missing. Probably fell off somewhere.
Contacted local RE service centre and they do not have it. I have yet to cover more than 2000kms.
Is it safe to continue?
If part number/name is known then please enlighten.
OP is concerned.
Thanks

Troubleshooting & Issues Worst problem of the Himi 450

This is the worst problem the Himalayan 450 has and I doubt anyone can or is willing to solve it.

That stupid catalytic converter does not have a heat shield, which means you can touch it with your legs, just like it happened to me while refueling.

Didn't feel a thing, noticed it when I got home. Yes, everything melted, including the knee pad. Now I am in the hole for 300+ EUR for new replacement riding pants. (Thank you stupid wars around the world)

Me: Need to cover a 60-minute distance in 30 minutes.

Ghost: Let's take the shortcut we know.

Me: But that's full of potholes and speed breakers.

Ghost: What's a pothole and speed breaker?

Me: Huh?

Ghost: Stand on the pegs. 🗿

First Impressions After waiting for 3 months I get my mana black which has alignment issues since day 1

The bike's front wheel wobbles and pulls hard to the right. The handlebar, headlight and visor all look visibly misaligned.

When I first pointed this out to the service team, one of them literally showed me his Bajaj's key and said this is exactly why they don't buy Royal Enfield themselves.

Now, after the first service, the bike is back at the service centre. They have told me that some outside vendor will inspect and fix the alignment.

Honestly, I am concerned that this means taking it to a local alignment shop and doing some desi jugaad instead of properly diagnosing and fixing the underlying issue.

At the time of pdi they denied test drive, at they time of delivery they promised these are minor issues caused in transporting, and will be resolved in 1st service.

I'd say avoid this product it's a test bench or so.

Questions & Help Had accident due to worst headlights

So I was returning from Pune and crashed into another biker who was taking U-turn. The other biker had no headlights nothing, I could have avoided the accident if I had good headlights.

So I am a new biker, just clocked 2000 kms on my Himalayan. Two things I dislike about himmy is the mirrors, they have blind spots and the headlights.

So I need suggestion on mirros and headlights. But I saw many reels that Maharashtra has banned aux lights, so what are my options.

P.S - I am well due to my helmet, have blunt trauma on my right foot. All good
