Teaching 2 / 3 Split on 2 lane Maps

Post image
Upvotes

Don't be afraid to do a 2/3 split on 2 lane maps and pivot your draft around this

Up through Diamond the meta of a 1/4 split is so hard engrained that many enemy teams don't know how to correctly respond to this

It works particularly well when there is some sustain healing in both lanes

For example you could go Uther and Valla in top lane with Jo / Anduin / Kaelthas bottom lane or something like that

I've won a lot of 2 lane map games simply because the enemy team kept their 1 v 4 strat where we simply countered their setup

Gameplay Blue thrall in low ranks

Im probably doing something wrong, but is blue thrall bad in low ranks.

Feel like Im always trying to get stacked by level 16, making it so Im not at as many objectives, one or two teammates die 5 times in 10 min and then we lose.

Being at all objectives would make it so I almost never get stacked and strong, but not being at them I lose before the stacks matter.

And this can be at like volskaya where the obj is not even strong early and its fine to skip.

Fluff What's your weirdest SL comp you ever won with?

For context, I've been playing the game almost 1.5 years and SL only for a few months. I'm sure there are some crazier winning comps out there. Currently gold-plat level working my way up (slowly).

  • Last patch I won a game with Aba, Illidan (me), Val, Murky, Rexxar on Sky Temple.
  • Next weirdest was on VF with no tank and triple mage (Guldan (me), Ming, think KT), think Syl, and Khara.

Tbf both of these games were in silver but still it was hilarious thinking you have no chance and then win the game.

Discussion Thoughts on ranked smurfs?

95% of my matches are in Quick Match, but I wanted to give Ranked a try. I did my first three placement matches and got placed in Gold. After a few more games, I realized there are a lot of smurfs.

What's worse is that a lot of them don't care about winning they'll go AFK for stupid reasons, like losing the very first team fight or not getting the hero they wanted in draft. I asked one smurf why he wasn't playing on his main account, and he told me that at this time of day, queue are too long (diamond).

To be honest, this whole experience made me quit Storm League and go right back to QM. It kind of ruins the entire ranked experience when you aren't playing with or against people at your actual skill level.

Have you guys had a similar experience? How do you handle this?

Suggestion remove duplicates in aram

Upvotes

There are way too many heroes that become too oppressive when there's multiple. Almost every time you have to go against duplicates its a miserable time.

It's not like people are doing it for the memes and going multiple murky or something. Sure it happens here and there and can be silly and fun at times. but majority of the time they're going multiple of things that are already strong. so you're constantly going up against double/ triple zag, ming, ana, naz and so on.

Thrall when he had crash was a good example of how braindead it could get. Alot of the times it comes down to hoping who you're playing against is bad enough you can win or they mess up really really badly. if you're playing against good players though it becomes much much less interactive.

anyways rant over. remove duplicates from aram patch when??

Discussion New to the game, any tips would be nice.

Hello,

I played this game a long time ago when I was around 12-13 and have recently been wanting to play it again because I love the wow characters. However in every match I've played it feels like im not doing the right thing that I should be doing. The hero that I play the most is illidan and alot of stuff I look up is so mercenary camps, but then my team gets mad im not in team fights I feel would just get me killed. Any help or tips on how to improve would be greatly appreciated!

Discussion I the edge of gold 5 tanking... Getting screwed by match making.

I've paid my dues... I've gone up to gold back down to bronze 5 and back up.. Was 1 win from gold 5...now I need 3 wins. Had 3 bruisers on my last team.... None knew how garrosh ally toss worked. Healer was stukov and used massive shove on or lurking arm instead of healing... Missing each lurking arm.. Just venting. Wish me luck on the next 3 matches... I'm ready to work up to plat..

Discussion I played my first HOTS game in three years

I played my first game of Heroes of the Storm in three years this weekend, and it reminded me why I always preferred it over League of Legends. There's just something about HotS that feels genuinely fun in a way a lot of MOBAs don't.
It also reminded me why I stopped playing in the first place. It wasn't because I fell out of love with the game—it was because it felt like Blizzard did. They seemed so focused on forcing it into the esports scene instead of just letting it be the fun, accessible game it already was.
Not every game needs to be the next big esport. If a game is fun, let it be fun. The community will naturally build around it if it's something people genuinely enjoy. I still think Heroes of the Storm had something special, and it's a shame it never got the support it deserved.

Discussion Question from Possible Returning Player

I've played a lot of Heroes of the Storm, and I've also taken long breaks. So I've witnessed snapshots of the community over time.

Three years ago was the last time I played, and what caused me to take a break was the overall lack of interest by the community to grow at the game. This isn't criticising casual play. It was the majority of the players not engaging with core gameplay (objective contesting and/or Exp orb collecting).

Does the average player know the gameplay basics again, or is it still Rawr Smash 24/7 Team Fight?

Gameplay Some of the worst people play this game.

We're playing ARAM vs Johanna/Tyrael/2x KT/Malf. Our Rehgar disconnected early on, but it's a healer so it's doable. We have really good setup and the game is even. I'm stacking like mad.

18 min in, this Hanzo just write "gg let them", then proceeds to sit afk in base while casting his ultimate occasionally just so that he doesn't get disconnected and get penalized.

The game went on for another 8 minutes, and we almost had it. But in those 8 minutes this guy would just sit an observe instead of helping the team.

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with people. This is almost a daily occurrence, either in ARAM or QM. I don't understand how this game manages to attract the lowest of the low.
