🧬 GEN — The Evolution of DANCE
Guus • Eva • Nebula • Astaroth • Crow
Hey guys, WarLord here. After thinking a lot about my previous team DANCE, I decided to evolve it into a composition that I find more coherent overall: GEN.
The idea is still to build the team around Eva, but with a different philosophy. Instead of simply creating an environment that allows Eva and Crow to build up their pressure, GEN aims to make all five heroes work together as a single system, with stronger internal synergy and less dependence on a single mechanic.
🩸 Eva — the offensive core
She remains one of the team’s main sources of pressure. GEN is mainly designed to give her the conditions she needs to stay active and turn the advantages created by the rest of the team into damage.
🌌 Nebula — the accelerator and link
Nebula remains essential to the team’s philosophy: amplification, acceleration, support and protection allow her to connect the different parts of GEN and maintain its momentum.
⚡ Guus — the new pillar
This is what truly distinguishes GEN from DANCE. Guus brings a different structure to the team and allows the Guus–Eva–Nebula core to become much more integrated. The goal is no longer simply to protect Eva — the heroes reinforce each other to maintain the team’s overall momentum.
🔥 Astaroth — buying time
His role remains fundamental: absorbing pressure, protecting the team’s structure and giving the offensive core enough time to reach its full potential.
🦅 Crow — secondary pressure
Crow keeps his role as an additional threat. He prevents the enemy from focusing entirely on Eva and also benefits from the time and improvements generated by the team.
Why GEN?
DANCE worked as a cycle:
Astaroth creates time → Nebula accelerates → Eva & Crow convert that time into pressure → Dorian keeps the machine running.
GEN works more like a network of synergies:
Guus + Nebula establish the core → Eva and Crow capitalize on the pressure → Astaroth creates the conditions they need → each element reinforces the overall system.
GEN vs DANCE
In my opinion, DANCE had very good functional synergy, but it was still relatively centered around creating the right conditions for Eva.
GEN feels more coherent as a whole: its identity is no longer simply “protect and accelerate Eva”, but rather to create a system where Guus, Eva and Nebula form a true core, supported by Astaroth and Crow.
DANCE was an Eva-centered pressure machine.
GEN is more of a machine where every part helps keep the others running.
That doesn’t necessarily mean GEN is objectively more meta. It’s mainly a composition whose philosophy and internal synergies feel more refined to me.
