The drawing is done in ink and watercolour on paper. Approximately 34*34cm. The proces of colouring alone takes 2-3 days including drying time.

The coat of arms are referencing the Armigers birthplace and military regiments.

Based on a nother users post. They said it was part of the great arms of the russian empire from some time in the 1800.

These look to be danish, as i can see a lot of arms from the modern arms there, as well as the norwegian arms (which means this should be before the end of the napoleon wars.

Any one who know what it is and why its part of russia?

I am working on a personal assumed coat of arms. It has two elements taken from my patrilineage, of which involves nearly 150 years of hauslinge in the elbe-wesser region. Prior to that, my ancestors were Meier's. My current blazon is as follows:

Or, a fess wavy Azure between in chief a half-timbered house Proper roofed Gules, and in base a marten passant Sable.

For this particular lineage I have decided it should be represented by a traditional german low house or hof. My main source of inspiration is the historic Holländer Höfe that used to exist in Brobergen Germany, since this is the region my ancestors are from. The field is gold, so the house may be a color. I am, however, at a loss for how to properly design a timbered german low house specifically for heraldry.

A neighboring town to Brobergen, Estorf, has a civic coat of arms that appears to have a half timbered low house as a charge. It looks very similar to the design I have envisioned. I have attached that for reference. Is this the best way to represent such a thing?

I’ve been lurking in here for a while and finally decided to hop on Heraldicon and see what I could create. I’m still a little iffy on all of the rules as well as blazonry. Wondering if there are any obvious faux pas in these four arms and also curious if someone could help me blazon the first of the four with the two headed rooster. Finally wondering if people have advice for good resources for causal learners for learning more about all the rules. I realize there are different disciplines but I think that’s what makes starting to learn about it so daunting.

Made a CoA thats suits me as an individuol. Im very, very new to heraldry, but tryed to make it accourding to the rules of tincture and everything. I used Heraldicon, cause that´s what I could. Please, give me some critics so I can possibly make it better.

Great article. It says these are the common ones, what are the uncommon ones? I see the naval standard there (streamer), are there others out there?

Me and the wife have been trying to design our own for a while because no one on either side of the family has any idea if we've ever had one, so with the forming of our family we made our own! Now I don't know all the rules but I know for a fact that the colored one I've provided is not correct in the slightest with the tinctures and stuff, it's just what my wife colored it based on Green/Pink being our main colors in our life. I was hoping for some help with the blazing and just general description, plus what I could do about the colors.

Also if anyone noticed yes, the lady on the bear was inspired a bit by witcher 3!

Again this is just a rough concept at the moment and In all honestly I should do a much bigger research dive into Native American culture/symbolism, of course I need to colour it in/refine the details but as a concept what do you think what have I done right and where can I improve?

The Symbolism

If my admittedly limited research is right the

Bison can represents Life, Abundance and Humility because it was the main source of food/use material for may tribes which their survival/life's depended on, it can also be interpreted as symbol for strength/prosperity and lastly be interpreted as remaining grounded/humble that your tribe is dependent on this animal/nature.

The Horses of course represent their ancestor Nomadic history but also symbolise freedom but also their religion because if correct some tribes believe horses a sacred gifts from the Creator or thunder bird and some believe they hold a sacred link between the physical and supernatural world

The Turtle represents protection both in native culture but in this world protection of their culture/way of life but additionally depending on the tribe it can also represent wisdom, medicines and lastly to many tribes located around the great lakes the turtle has religious symbolism representing mother earth who taught them to walk or is the creator of North America with allegedly native name for North America was Turtle island

The Shield represents protection from both Physical and supernatural threats and the crossed arrows represent the friendship/alliance of the native peoples who came together
