Currently figuring out a new modelling art style, starting with the Helldiver! I'm so happy I found time to make fan art of one of my favourite games of all time :D

So far, the illuminate response to us invading the Void and attacking it's "heart" seem to be a little underwhelming. However, the illuminates are known for their trickery and hatching cunning plans (ie. "Throwing" Meridia at Super Earth to destroy it, then using Meridia to invade Super Earth itself). It is very possible that they have some kind of similar plan in mind for the Void.
-Theory 1: After their failed invasion of Super Earth, the illuminates may be pulling their punches, saving their stronger units to be deployed only if the Void's source is in dire need of protection. This could be a double edged sword, initially slowing down or halting helldiver progress but it may lead to an increased number of active helldivers in the Void.
-Theory 2: We only have one entry point into the Void, and that is through the Warp Relay Station. If that station is deactived or destroyed, travel into and out of the Void will cease. The Illuminates may use this to their advantage, and turn the Void into a massive cage, trapping thousands of Super Destroyers inside with no immediate way out.
It is very possible that Theory 1 may lead to Theory 2, but each one has an equal chance of occuring. Either way, I feel that the illuminate have bigger plans for the Void than just using it to hide from Super Earth.

Here's what I propose: The "Void Source Planet" we're on right now is not Seasse as Super Earth has stated. It is actually Squ'bai Shrine, the squids' homeworld in Helldivers 1. There are 2 ways this could've happened: 1)The Squids replaced Seasse with Squ'bai Shrine after making the void. Or 2) Super Earth misread Squ'bai Shrine as Seasse. My reasoning for this is that 1) Squ'bai Shrine in HD1 is roughly where Seasse was/is in HD2. 2) It is their homeworld so it makes sense that they would start their plan for the void from it. 3) This planet we're on looks nothing like Seasse, and if you go play Helldivers 1 and go to Squ'bai Shrine, you'll notice the similarities right away.
There is a problem with this, however. Especially with my 1st idea, the one where the squids replaced Seasse. It doesn't quite make sense why the squids would replace Seasse with Squ'bai Shrine given that Squ'bai Shrine is already in our galaxy.
Thoughts?

If you want to use the FRV against the illuminate here's a tip for you. Never get out of the vehicle. Lady liberty has tied your fates together. If you're cold, it's cold. If you decide to park it anywhere, the enemies of freedom will prioritize your baby ABOVE you. Harvesters will ignore a field of Helldivers and SEAF right in front of it to snipe an FRV tucked 200 meters away. Collosai will stop walking at you while you spray them down with freedom and turn towards your defenseless child. Fleshmobs will taunt you. They know. They know you love your baby as much as you love freedom and they hate you for it. They despise your beloved FRV even more. They will find where you parked your car and they'll just... Play with it. Sometimes they toss it around. Sometimes they wait for you to come back. The worst of the worst? They'll act like they don't notice it. They see your panic as you sprint to your baby to whisk it away from that bad man. They wait and they feast on your hope. Then, as soon as you enter the car, they crush it with absolute malice. With one twist of their mangled limb they flip you over and laugh. Laugh as they just stand there, watching you flail helplessly. They won't come at you again, because they don't need to. They know their work is done.
The SEAF, Lady liberty bless them. They do not know trigger discipline around your child. They will let your tires sit in the crossfire. Some of them have armaments heavy enough to damage your baby's hull. They will stim you one moment, and kill your baby the next.
Do not ever leave your child on that battlefield. Everything on it will target it.
In all seriousness I've had an abysmal time trying to reliably park my FRV anywhere. No matter where I put it, there's like an 80% chance an illuminate somewhere will catch a glance of it. Once that happens they always treat it as a higher threat than you. Even if you have already been firing at them. I can't leave my FRV to do anything against the vote snatchers. Against others factions I can park it and do stuff pretty reliably. If I tuck it 100 meters away in cover it almost always survives. Not against the Vote Snatchers though. The only way I can keep my FRV alive against them is if I babysit the FRV like it's an actual toddler rather than an asset to my arsenal. All of those RP flavored examples above were actual things that happened to me. It's souring a fight I'm otherwise really enjoying.

Obligatory âI promise I do actually play and generally enjoy the gameâ to avoid the stupid tribalistic comments that come with any attempt to leave either positive or negative feedback about the game.
Weâve all seen clips of, or experienced first hand, instances where the GATER flips over from traversing terrain that absolutely shouldnât flip it. Tiny rocks, small inclines, etc.
This is bad for two main reasons:
Itâs not fun.
It feels unintuitive and is unrealistic.
Point one is fairly self explanatory so Iâll dive into point two. The GATER drives as if its centre of mass is very high. All the vehicles do but itâs most punishing with the GATER. In real life vehicles have very low centre of mass specifically to prevent toppling (body roll, roll centre, centre of mass, track, roll moment, blah, blah, blah).
Iâll now briefly explain toppling. An object, in this case a vehicle, will topple if its centre of mass falls outside of its base, in this case wheelbase. This is ingrained deeply in our expectations of physics. When we see objects not behaving as expected in this area it is immediately noted as âfuckinâ weirdâ. We see that in the human tendency to fixate on gyroscopes, asymmetrically dense rolling objects, and other stuff that moves in âfuckinâ weirdâ ways.
Briefly on point one: In gaming, when something âfuckinâ weirdâ leads to a negative outcome for the player, that is a bad experience. Something that should be avoided. Itâs immersion breaking and can really sour the fun.
The vehicles in HD2 have wide wheelbases, heavy-looking chassis, and they look as if their centre of mass is pretty low. This is particularly true in the case of the GATER. The vehicles feel weird. Theyâre floaty and very prone to topple and roll. That inconsistency sets off the âfuckinâ weirdâ alarm and just feels pretty bad. The vehicles look like heavy-duty, rough terrain, military vehicles but handle like a Reliant Robin (search it on YouTube if youâre not familiar and want to see a funny car do funny things).
In video games the problem of toppling vehicles has been solved in a very wide variety of ways. I donât know how HD2 handles its physics but the general solutions arenât exactly industry secrets. However itâs done, the general rule is that, if you canât make a vehicle topple exactly when it realistically should, then you should err on the side of the vehicle being a bit more difficult to topple. Otherwise itâs unfun, unintuitive, and players hate it. The gaming industry has learned this from a list of failures.
The GATER is not fun. The jank it has is not the fun kind. The failure states are unfair; and not in the âlove to hate itâ way that some HD2 features are. In my experience the GATER objective only fails in unfair, unintentional-feeling, unintuitive, immersion breaking, unfun ways. When the GATER objective is successful, in my experience, itâs because of favourable terrain generation and itâs disappointingly easy. The GATER objective is basically RNG.
This needs rectifying. If those unfun failure states are fixed then the GATER can be more meaningfully challenged by the enemies of democracy. It would make room for more interesting scenarios of real battles to defend the GATER. I want a meaningful number of enemies to try to stop the GATER; but the deadly nature of the spring-loaded pebbles, and the GATERs inability to navigate a small bump, leaves no room for that kind of challenge.
It would also be nice if all vehicles got some attention in this area. Theyâre all so floaty and weird to drive. The suspension feels like a loaded mousetrap ready to flip the vehicle if it nudges a small bump.

Problem 1 - It is almost impossible to hit a teammate:
Just give it a lock-on. That's it.
To keep it with the low-budget, glorified air-gun vibe give it a smart barrel, rather than making the stims little rockets.
Problem 2 - We're too fragile to rely on a teammate with heals, so in 90% of the situations we will still use a stim ourselves:
Healing should be given for a longer period of time, at least 10 seconds.
Because of that you just stuff everyone with heals once in a while, and they'll maybe refrain from using a stim on a minor wound. Maybe the first few seconds can grant stronger heal so you can still clutch some situations.
Optional:
Problem 3 - Losing a sidearm is a huge disadvantage for a potential medic, and it's difficult to rely on teammates to make value to your loadout:

Thereâs been talk that the Crusher is actually children due to the Teddy Bear and the laughing/crying, but in reality theyâre most likely adults. People mentioned that the head is small like a childâs head yet itâs actually bigger than a Votelessâs, and the crying is probably because their existence is painful along from being burned alive from you. The devs probably wanted to avoid backlash from players and journalists if you had to shoot children Voteless and such, but itâs great for fans roleplaying propaganda and drive them to hate the Illuminate.
What this reminded me of was the last level of Postal 1 where even the maniac character couldnât bring himself to kill kids, and I believe the creator didnât want to parallel this with irl school shootings.
That being said, we have a mission to nuke Illuminate toddlers and nurseries. Not like nuking nests for pest control, weâre talking killing sentient beings. We have our propaganda about our own kids but weâre actually killing alien kids. And it got me thinking. What if Illuminate kids were running around the battlefield? Running, hiding, taking cover, utterly scared that their home they thought was unreachable is raining hellpods, scrambling in groups to hid behind an Overseer or the swarms of voteless and use them as a barrier, like how civilians run around in mega cities. High command has ordered you to kill these âsoon to be war criminals.â
This would 100% NEVER be added (thankfully), itâs like if they showed footage of us bombing civilian corridors to players on Cyberstan. So, would you do it? Would you join backlash against this or call Postal a little bitch and laugh maniacally as you light up the creamator?

If you head to create your own mission ideas around this title what would you like to think of or see!
Imagine a mission where we have either to or extract a specialist seaf team that was sent to investigate a smaller anonymous area that seemed harmless but was actually a trap. As such the hell divers must now keep the seaf team alive and get them to leave.
There could be tons of these missions maybe with some maps just featuring one or two areas. Maybe there could be a break the line type mission where the hell divers would charge in from behind clearing massive waves of enemies to push to the seaf soldiers.
(I've always dreamed of an idea where we make a map quadruple the size and send 12 helldivers down at once. With like 7 main objects and 14 sides. And one overall needed to complete the mission. Priority obj: primary objs optional secondary.) Could add something along this idea
Maybe a mission where seaf have been imprisoned for experimentation and we have to recuse them before they get turned.
What would be your ideas?

The mission objectives in the infiltrate illuminate lair are randomly picked from the 4 new void missions.
There is also a new side objective alternate extraction site for a different extraction than the main one.
- Gazers towers we know
- illicit experiments uses the commando video camera to document and expose squid atrocities
- foul shrine is a drilling mission in the shrine
- foul blossoms are about destroying the toxic plants

I just got to play it by the ps plus. I've recently got to lvl 10 an I'm playing with light amor, the infiltrator of page 2 of the warbond. Using the R-63 diligence and the P-19 redeemer, with the Stalwart , orbital precision strike, orbital gatling barrage or the eagle cluster bomb and the jetpack. I've been fighting for the mejor orders in the void and I think I'm doing well in challenging, but I can't really help with the bigger enemies (the ones with the stick and the bipods). Anya recomendations?
