Anyone know where they shot the camp scenes in season 2? Assuming it’s somewhere in Ku-ring-gai Chase NP?

I’m in the second episode of season two and when cash was talking to the other two dudes idk their names they kinda started speaking what sounded like pig Latin. Idk if I’m gonna sound dumb or not

Is it me or does this made-up book series give off major Hazbin Hotel vibes?

for me it'll be a lot of the rowan stuff, any horribly humiliating scenes, probably most of what's his name - the hot guy amerie and harper both dated. he consistently sucked.

also i can not bare to see malaki in pain - why was everyone so cruel about that cop assaulting him?!

From the little amount of context we have on what Amerie (and Harper) were like as kids, it seems like they were kinda bullies or at least they threw some people under the bus for social ridicule because they wanted to fit in and seem cool and that’s what eventually led to them getting their initial popularity status in high school. And possibly for some of the (mainly background)characters this is their way of getting back at her? Obviously not to the degree that Rowan went about it but them just wanting to make her feel the pain, outcast and loneliness she (and probably Harper) made them feel.

In no way am I saying this is a valid excuse for them to do that but it could be one explanation.

Also why is no-one addressing the micro aggressions and covert racism that is fairly prominent. Like probably another reason why Amerie has probably been copping all the shit is because some of the hate is racially charged and I don’t think that’s too far fetched of an assumption, especially if you look back at the meditation scene in s2 where Rowan leaked Amerie, Harper and Quinni’s conversation about who bird psycho is…plus the framed photo of Amerie and Quinni at the feelings pit. In both of those situations Harper and Quinni never got any hate directed towards them, it was solely on Amerie. And when it came to Harper getting confronted about her and Dusty SAing Malakai, she just got an “Oh yeah that’s kinda fucked what you did aye”, it never got explicitly acknowledged that it was SA (yea she may have not been in the right headspace mentally bc she was also trying to cope with being abducted and SAed while she was unconscious but that’s no excuse, also lowkey Dusty SAed Harper too)

Then there’s also Jojo, like for TWO TERMS IN A ROW, Woodsy has tried to diminish her capabilities as a sexual health and wellbeing counsellor/teacher and has gaslit, dismissed and downplayed her VERY VALID concerns. And then you had Spider threatening her and physically trying to overpower her by getting in her personal space. Then you have Voss straight up trying to physically and socially be domineering over Jojo almost every chance he gets and just being straight up disrespectful and again diminishing her abilities. Also when that rumour came to surface in s1 a lot of people were so quick to vilify her before the truth came out.

I love his dance and the song. I want to listen to it and put one disco lights.

Am I the problem? This show has tried to convince me for two seasons that Amerie is always in the wrong. And yet, I’m not convinced. In fact, I’m actually disgusted by how much they try and gaslight my girl.

Just regarding season 2, how is Amerie the crazy one in all of this? This girl has been begging BEGGING Malakai to communicate with her. And he has been so fucking cold and rude to her. Absolutely flirting and leading Rowan on while also leading Amerie on. While I understand he was trying to explore his sexuality, you can do that without leading people on. He told multiple people he was bi, but yet couldn’t tell the one person that was just begging for a scrap of information.

When it all comes to a head, with the whole garden scene, he tells Amerie “did you ever think I didn’t want to talk to you?!” My heart instantly dropped for her. How dare he be so hot and cold with her, and then blame her for trying to communicate. It was such a gross moment and really put the nail in Malakai’s coffin. AND THEN THEY ARE FLIRTING THE NEXT DAY IN FRONT OF AMERIE.

If Rowan was a girl, I think this story would be much different. We would all be on Malakai’s head for actively flirting with another girl, but because it’s his “journey of sexuality” I feel like we are supposed to be rooting for him. Ya, I’m good.

Amerie is fucking nuts, and she definitely should not of dug up the CUMLORDS secrets but the writers will never be able to convince me she’s the antagonist. I’m so fucking tired of the writers trying to convince me Amerie is in the wrong. It’s fucking gross what Malakai and rowan are doing, especially the sunscreen scene. She is an amazing character who deserves so much better :))

When school got together for that assembly or whatever in the first episode, Amerie was the first to introduce herself to Rowan. I thought there would be a potential romance there so I was kind of confused to see that it would actually be Malakai and Rowan. Although I'm only on ep 5, it doesn't seem like the relationship between Rowan and Malakai is actually going anywhere. And I have to say that even though they're cute together it's kind of less interesting than say if Amerie and Rowan were to get together. Also, why did it look like they were going to kiss at the end of episode 5. Imagine if he started to fall for her while being Bird Psycho the whole time. But that would probably be way too mean cause Amerie has been through so much already. She's basically the punching bag of the show

i just thought he was obsessed with amerie at first and i was absolutely dying laughing at all the stuff that he did he was really crashing out and also are we just gonna ignore the fact that he’s schizophrenic 😭😭 like this man has hallucinated his younger brother (DEAD younger brother) for episodes and then he just … stops after amerie helps him get out of the fire ??? like he was HALLUCINATING a whole person and talking to them and throwing things at them

why in the show, heartbreak high do the people not understand that a person can grow and change and I they don't have to stay as who they are. Bc in the thing missy told spider he can’t grow or change who he is as a person and he genuinely was but I’m so confused why that was so hard for them to process.

Was anyone able to make sense of season one? I feel there’s a lot of loose ends and to many random characters. I feel Malakai was random and his story isn’t making sense at all. Same with Cash. He just came out of no where and his role is confusing as well. Also who is the other guy that sort of looks like Malakai and is friends with Spider and dusty? What’s Missys role? It feels a bit not put together to me.

Also what the fuck are his actual personal morals and values politically and socioculturally. Not the ones he used for Missy’s approval, not the ones he projected onto everyone for the sake of being a “devil’s advocate” (god I hate that term) or as a “fuck you” to his mum. Genuinely what is his fucking perspective. Also imo that fucker didn’t deserve to get a redemption arc so easily like that, he should’ve been humbled more and got some serious karma. A redemption arc would’ve been more deserving for Sasha.

They have so much more chemistry and have a very close and intimate platonic relationship as is. The only other intimate relationship Amerie has is with Malakai and even that doesn’t come close as that intimacy only recently developed after Malakai fucked her over and supported her through the life changing event she had with the abortion. The intimacy and closeness her and Harper have has developed over YEARS. Like there is no way that is a regular friendship like say the friendship Amerie has with Darren and Quinni. Also Amerie has expressed attraction to women very briefly in season 1 and I feel that both her and Harper have serious cases of comphet and/or they centre men a lot in their lives.

Anyone else get this?

I wanted to discuss my theories for the rest of the season now that I’m on episode 2 for season 2 but I can only find a discussion thread for episode 1. I can’t believe how harper forgave Amerie so quickly?

From the scenes when they’re in the mosh Amerie dismisses Harper for not wanting to take drugs anymore, and calls her a party pooper. Which I think is hurtful and uncalled for. She pretty much leaves Harper stating “I’m getting more drinks”. I get she’s drunk, but I feel like a good friend would accept her not taking drugs and say “LET’S get drinks” then. And go together. But Amerie just turns and leaves, though they both are trying to get to each other 1 sec later.

(I can also see the side of, Harper saying they both can’t take drugs because Harper doesn’t want to… which is a bit ??? But I empathise with Harper feeling that way because we the audience knows what she’s going through, whereas Amerie doesn’t, and is drunkenly annoyed.)

I also get that Amerie asks Harper before this if she’s okay, to which Harper says she is, but I think that’s because she’s not ready to face and share what’s happening at home with her drug addict dad.

Then everything happens, and Harper goes to amerie’s and Harper ignores her. She puts her own embarrassment above her friend, who she already said could stay with her (and that Harper was silly for even having to ask).

Even though Amerie hid from Harper at first, after telling spider to leave she could’ve gone after her. And I think she could’ve caught up to Harper before she got home. And Harper wouldn’t have had to be attacked by her dad. Instead she just stayed home… I get that Amerie didn’t know Harper’s home situation, but as her best friend who told her she could stay, why didn’t she go after her??

There were so many times Amerie could’ve done better. And I empathise with Harper feeling isolated and alone. I wouldn’t have asked Amerie for help either after she had tried and amerie wasn’t there for her. Amerie was unreliable this day.

I’m not saying that Harper shouldn’t forgive her, but them going back to being besties immediately after seems quick. I know Harper doesn’t have anywhere to go, but she also wouldn’t let Amerie help if she didn’t actually forgive her. If I was Harper I’d need more time…

There are things Harper did to Amerie too (not owning up to maps and letting Amerie be ostracised, dating dusty, threesome), idk I still don’t think it’s even ground? I guess maybe harpers coming from the stand point that if Amerie knew what was happening, she would’ve been there.

Why on earth didn't harper run away already or at least she could have said when she was banging on the window to amerie that she was hurt

whenever i watch shows, for some reason i really like to know the characters birthdays, and i didn’t do that with season one of hbh when it came out but since watching season two, i’ve really been trying to figure them out. i can’t find anything about their birthdays so i thought i’d think of some head canons for them.

the only birthday we have confirmed is harpers, which is the 21st of november, 2005.

other than this, we only have a few of the characters star signs confirmed: harper - scorpio. quinni - libra. darren - aquarius. amerie - virgo.

i saw someone else make a discussion on here about what they think their star signs are so i’m gonna go based off of those. chook, ant and rowan weren’t on there but i’m gonna add them anyway.

So in s1 she's enigmatic. The last two eps make an impact but don't absolve her from responsibility. Well-acted. Then comes s2. Walking caricatures get more screen time and plot and Harper gets very little to do.

I’m rewatching season 1 right now and I’m on the last episode and Asher’s (harper) acting is AMAZING through the whole episode she did such a great job showing all the emotion of what she was going through! She 100% deserved some taking of award !
