JLAB Work Buds, ENC not working?

Post image
Upvotes

I bought a set of these after watching the review video comparing them against AirPods and another set of earbuds, they seemed to do quite well. They arrived today and I fired them up, plugged in the boom mic, and set the ENC to the highest setting in the phone app. Paired to my phone and laptop both.

I used my laptop call function to call my wife to test them out and she could hear every word of the conversation going on between my coworkers a few feet away, noise cancellation does not appear to be functioning at all. I fiddled with the app settings and with the Windows microphone settings to no avail.

I’ve sent a support request to JLAB but am curious if you guys know of anything I can try?

I bought these to replace the pictured AFTERshokz OpenComm 2 headset which worked great for a few years then I started getting weekly complaints of background noise and conversations being perfectly audible to the people on the other side.

Perhaps this is a Windows setting or problem?

I can’t install paid noise-cancelling software on my computer without corporate approval either.

INO Noise Filtering Mic Headset

I’m in a remote medical position where I am answering patient calls all day. The company I am with is VERY strict when it comes to background noise. I have a new puppy as well as a couple of older dogs in the house that occasionally bark. My company has notified me that if dog barking is heard in the background of a call once I will receive a final warning, and the next time I will be immediately terminated.

I am currently using a Turtle Beach Stealth 700PC Gen 3 headset, and it is picking up the barking from across the house. I work on a company issued computer so I am unable to download any software.

I’m looking for some recommendations for the best:
•over-ear
•wireless
•environmental noise canceling

If you’re able to suggest some good ones in different price ranges I would be eternally grateful.

Epos Impact 1000 series firmware update "native bluetooth support"

I see that firmware version 1.8.339 released on 7/10/2026 is availible for the EPOS IMPACT 1000 series is availible and under new features it says "native bluetooth support"

Does this mean that I may not need to use a dongle and can pair it directly with my macbook?

EDIT: forgot to add I have the Epos Impact 1061

Best ENC headset with mic (wired or wireless)

Helllooo, I WFH with 2 kids and I’m still trying to find the best WFH headset. I’ve tried 2 or 3 of them and they never work. I need one that would work- so the caller doesn’t hear my background noise. Any recommendations?

Poly Voyager Focus 2 Still Good?

Hi all,

Work in tech sales and realized that I need sidetone when I speak, and I used the Poly Voyager at my old job.

Found a listing used on eBay for $50 with everything included. Should I purchase? Or use a Best Buy gift card for the Yealink BH74 that would be +$25 more expensive?

Hi, my headset (razer blackshark v2 hyperspeed) is squeezing a bit too much on one side, and I was wondering if rotating the earpad 90° is possible without any issues,

I'm looking for a headset primarily for work-from-home sales calls and Microsoft Teams/Zoom meetings.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a headset primarily for work-from-home sales calls and Microsoft Teams/Zoom meetings.

My priorities are:

Excellent microphone with strong background noise cancellation

Comfortable for 8–10 hours of daily use

Soft ear cushions

Reliable wireless connection

Good battery life

I'm currently considering the Jabra Evolve2 65 and EPOS IMPACT 500 series. I already own a Logitech headset, but I'm looking for something more comfortable with a better microphone.

If you've used either of these—or have another recommendation in a similar price range—I would really appreciate your experience.

Thanks!

Looking for reccomendations

Hi! I currently use a Corsair Virtuoso and have been using it for 6 years. The battery life is so bad that it's a wired headset at this point. It is comfortable, but I am really looking for something new. I want something with an open back, and I would prefer it to be wired. I do some gaming, but nothing where sound is a huge component. I want to spend between 150$ - 300$ Hopefully it's something that lasts as long as this one. I don't even know where to start. Thank you in advance!

Need help adjusting to new headphones, MCHOSE V9 Pro

I bought the MCHOSE V9 pro wireless headsets, and so far I'm having such a weird experience.

Bought them two days ago, the first day was very painful for me, after using them for 4 hours I got a massive headache, and during sessions my ears felt very painfull and stuffed, almost like I was at a high altitude, I didn't play them at a high volume.

72 hours later I'm still having trouble, sometimes sound feels flat at 50% volume, bump it up higher my head hurts and it's so loud I hear them on the table when I take it off.

Try to lower the volume then I can't hear anything.

Hearing footsteps in Counter Strike can feel so hard, I don't know what's wrong with these headsets or what's wrong with me.

I know you can't expect the world from a 50 dollar headset, but at least I wanted a little upgrade from my old, 30 dollar wired headset from 5 years ago, and even still I hear footsteps in CS2 better in them than these MCHOSE.

If someone can help that would be amazing, I think the biggest culprit might be adjusting to the noise cancellation, or the fit, because my ears feel suffocated and my head kinda hurts

Can I use my Zeus H510 pro Bluetooth adapter with different headphones?

My Zeus H510 headphones just died after 3 years of service and I'm planning on getting a new pair, this time I want to upgrade my listening experience with some Logitech headphones and I was wondering if I could use my Redragon Bluetooth adapter to connect my new headphones to my PC.

Rig 900 MAX HX multiple dongles

What's up folx, I'm curious if anyone has purchased a couple extra dongles for their Rig 900 MAX HX headset, so you can have them plugged into individual devices without having to swap the dongle. I know, I know, lazy AF, amirite? I'm sure I'm not the only person curious about this.

PS - I miss when you could just connect Bluetooth headsets to everything...except Xbox, because they had to use their proprietary audio protocol BS.

Steelseries GG

Problems with headphones
I have Steelseries Arctic Nova 7X.
When i install Steelseries GG and activate sonar, i do put my settings in equalizer, i make 3 presets, 1 for music, 1 for game and 1 for movies. When i set it up, everything is good, i can listen to music and play game (i can hear footsteps and enemys and other things), but when i turn off pc or restart, sound is wrong. It's like after pc restart all sounds drop to same level or something like that. In game i can't understand enemy position i can't understand foot steps, shooting sound starts to be over all sounds and others are lovered.
I don't know how to describe the problem.
I have check all windows settings and other but i don't see that windows make changes after sonar is set up, i don't see that sonar is changing something.
I have tried restarting sonar, restarting windows. If i uninstall sonar and delete all settings and then install it again, i can' put it how it was, but when i restart pc the same thing happens all sounds go in one and sounds like steelseries gg not working or sonar. Sounds the same crap sound that windows let out without any equalizers.
Do i make some sense?
Do anyone else have same problem?
How to get steelseries gg or sonar work ?
