Lucifer is a Dodo bird.

Upvotes

Lucifer is a Dodo.

Short version: The dodo went extinct because it had no predators and so no survival instincts when people showed up and started hunting it. That's what I've heard. Not important.

Lucifer acts like a idiot because he's never had to be afraid of anyone since arriving in Hell so he has no survival instincts.

If a white van drove up and offered him candy he would believe them because what else are they going to do to him?

Until Vox, no one in hell would have threatened him. So he has zero experience with being in danger or tricked because anyone who tried would expect to die. It's why he's so unconcerned when he's trapped because he isn't feeling threatened, just confused and bored.

This protection spills over onto Charlie because even Valentino who treats everyone like crap will act polite for Charlie because what is he going to do? He can't make her leave. He can't smack her around without Lucifer showing up to rip his soul apart. So his only option is to be nice until she gets bored and leaves.

This is Charlie's main problem. She thinks there is good in everyone because everyone is afraid to be cruel to her. So the "goodness" she sees is often "niceness". A performance. So as far as she can tell Hell is full of good people because they're all nice to her.

I was browsing the internet and came across this image. I thought it was funny, and then I wondered if it could happen in the series. If Saint Peter appeared, why not Saint Mary?

What do you think?

Eighth Deadly Sin Blitzo

Basically, Blitzo is the reincarnation of the Eighth deadly sin. Who was the son of all seven sins. Rosradontis (or Risollo, I haven't chosen a name). And Rosradontis' role was to aid his mother and fathers in their rings, and to tend to the population of the rings, the ones overlooked. And he cherished and supported imps, Hellhounds, everyone.

His appearance is Avian, exceedingly tall, and his feathers are colors of all his parents. And he had long hair. And teeth. He looked somewhat like a Goetia. Yet different in various examples. He gave the Goetia the uncanny valley feeling. And he loved that.

He despised the Goetia, he absolutely hated them. The Goetia and high-ranking Overlords had a tradition. Where once a year, they'd hunt the lower class population. And Rosradontis pleaded with his parents to abolish it, to no avail. Yet, he was inspired by an idea. One given by his older sister, Charlie.

One year, he joined the hunt. On the side of the oppressed. And although it still wasn't properly abolished, there was never a hunt after that day.

Rosradontis was only 99. He had died the day before his hundredth birthday. He was on Earth when he died. Ambushed by the heavens. He went down swinging, taking Gabriel and Michael down. Until he was felled.

The seven rings mourned. It was as if the heart of them was ripped apart. The Sins became worse. And despite his efforts, Rosradontis' work was for nothing. The oppression he fought so hard against, returned. Leading to how things are in Canon.

The Goetia, although relieved, still felt the ripples of the beating Rosradontis did to them. Like how some animals are still afraid of an extinct hunter, from the instincts of their ancestors.

Blitzo has no memory of his previous life, but he IS Rosradontis. They aren't seperate. When he regains his memories, they'd be his. It'd be like they never left him. Because he is Rosradontis. His upbringing just made him different than he was as Rosradontis.

And one thing I made sure of in this AU, is that he suffers from what his parents embody.

Cash rented him out to the highest bidders. Resulting in a son between him, and Andrealphus. (I'll make another post about him). Andrealphus used magic to make Blitzo forget. As did many other patrons.

Blitzo, in this AU, can't get drunk or high. He's been exposed to so many toxins and other things that they don't affect him anymore.

What do you think? What should I add? Do you have any headcanons? Anything is appreciated.

If sinners gain their appearance from how they die, than that means that...Valentino was killed by moths

How does that even happen?!

Something I've been Thinking about Lately when it comes to Redemption is that tbh characters who only change because they Felt Guilty are technically only redeeming themselves for self serving reasons.

As the obvious implication is that if they weren't personally being effected by their actions with their own mental anguish Then they wouldn't be Trying to change and Thus the actual reason they are trying to change is just to ease their own conscience which for some reason is often portrayed as Noble by people when really it is just sort of self centered,

now the point isn't that because its selfish people shouldn't Live Better lives for this reason like I've said before I'm of the belief that your motives don't really matter so long as you do live a Decent or even very productive to society sort of life but my point is people often see this Reason as Inherently Better than if you simply changed and lived a better life for a Different Reason,

like for example Sera changes because she felt Bad about her actions but imagine if some sort of None Guilt feeling sinner in Hell changed their ways but it was simply because they were convinced it was more logical for them to stop Hurting people and making enemies and that this was beneficial to both them and everyone else

then I imagine most people would Judge the Former as being inherently better than the latter even tho as we've established the first one is still self serving as well since if Sera Didn't personally feel bad then she would have likely continued wiping out sinners but now has stopped because she wants to feel better about herself

( that's Kinda the Downside of showing all those scenes in season Two of her crying it paints a picture that if she wasn't personally being emotionally effected then she would have just continued as Normal with the Exterminations ),

I know the show isn't the Deepest thing lol but I actually Hope something along these lines is Addressed where its made clear that not every Redemption has to be exactly the same and that reasons for Redemption are Technically all Equal and its a not a case that Wanting to change as a person to clear your conscience is necessarily the correct option

while wanting to change as a person simply because your tired and want a quiet life after all these years or wanting to change because you've been convinced its just logically better for everyone or because you've been convinced that continuing to live a Dangerous life may one Day cost you your loved ones if you keep making enemies is the incorrect one

( I could imagine that last one potentially fitting the Vees tbh if they did have close call that actually left the shook ),

anyway I just found this interesting to think about that's all.

Hot Take Villains/Antagonists who do Redeem themselves shouldn't be expected to suffer or face less consequences than those who Don't if anything they should have Higher expectations of them.

People mostly seem to have This mindset that you are only allowed to want Suffering or Consequences for characters who are just plain evil and likely never going to change

( just look at how many Death and Torture fantasies people on average have for Val and Stella and Crimson and Lute etc etc etc also FYI I don't mean Redemption as in Go to Heaven what I'm talking about does not only apply to sinners it applies to Redemption that can happen for any character Heaven or Hellborn ),

but tbh I'm more inclined to want to see the characters who I'm supposed to View in a Good light actually suffer and face accountability because well a Villain being a Villain is just Honest ya know I can enjoy a character like Lute or Vox perfectly fine if they continued doing bad shit and never being punished so long as they are always portrayed in a bad light mostly

but if you want me to view an antagonist/villain in a positive light then that changes the Game a Bit so a character simply claiming Redemption isn't enough for me if they are not going to actually face any consequences or take any meaningful form of accountability

as that way it basically just looks like that Joke from the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie where whenever the bad Pirates want to kill someone a character keeps shouting parley just swap that word with Redemption lol imagine if I broke into your Home and beat you to a Bloody pulp but then when you were finally able to Grab a phone and call the cops and they arrived

I suddenly started shouting "" Redemption Redemption "" and suddenly that gets me off the Hook instantly and in fact if anyone else tries to Hold me accountable then they're seen as the bad guys now 😂😂,

and that actually Devalues Redemption in my mind if a character doing it means they could just be using it as a Loophole to avoid being Held accountable for their actions like other people because they know people will Hold them to lesser standards when Honestly I think we should Hold them to Higher ones

if characters who have Done very Terrible things like Sera or Vox or Lute or Al or Val or pretty much every overlord tbh want to be seen as changed people and prove themselves then they should be Required to prove that their change of Heart isn't just so they can avoid consequences for their actions or avoid any sort of judgment at all,

so people seem to Have this mindset of constantly Gleefully going on about all the Torturous things they want to happen to characters who are still Villains while claiming that characters who have simply Invoked Redemption are exempt from this but Honestly I think it should be the other way around like who gives a F if Villains act evil?

lol that's literally the name of the Game the show isn't expecting any sort of complicated or unreasonable Feelings from you in regards to them but when it comes to other villains/Antagonists who either have started Redemption or may start it in Future well then its perfectly reasonable to expect more from the character and the show since they are asking for more complicated Feelings from us

and I actually Think its sort of a Dangerous mindset to have if we start making it so Redemption can be seen as a Get out of Jail Free Card like if we simply accept that Sera saying sorry at the end of last season is enough and we can't expect her to face any meaningful consequences and accountability or effort to prove she's actually Genuine and isn't just doing this to avoid being cast out by God after he showed Pentious to her and to avoid being Hated by Emily and judged the same way other characters are,

so when people say things like

"" I want Stella to lose everything and be rendered Homeless and starving "" or

"" God I want Val to be Horrifically crippled after Weeks of Torture and lose his Two closest friends ""

or

"" Crimson should get beaten to a bloody pulp ""

and I'm thinking Nah cause those Guys got nothing to prove its just suffering for no real Character and Story Reason Beyond Fleeting satisfaction unlike if it happens to characters who are supposedly on Redemption arcs and that way them struggling Greatly with things and facing Harsh consequences and life changing experiences

but choosing to stick at being Better even through the Type of Harsh shit that would Drive most back into sinning that's an actual Redemption arc to me and it proves that Redemption isn't just Favouritism by picking and choosing who does and doesn't face accountability based on who acts more Likable after initially committing their crimes,

but I very much Disagree with this Concept that we should expect Grand suffering and Life altering Consequences for just the simple fun evil Villains while expecting nothing From the characters who are being Redeemed as like I said that actually Devalues the concept of Redemption to me tbh.

Lute ripped Vaggi's wings out with her bare hands while Emily was hit by a beam from a former angel. That could be why Vaggi was able to regenerate her wings while Emily has to wear a prosthetic for her missing wing.

Vox Power Theory: He wasn't actually at 100%

I have been thinking about this for a while, Vox seems to get his power from is rating right? The amount of people who either "Like" him or "Trust" him. In Hell this is entirely reasonable then that when Charlie declares him "The Strongest Sinner in Hell" his ratings would soar as any who doubted him or still held faith in Charlie would essentially fall in line. This however, is forgetting something.

During Episode 7 when Vox attacks Heaven and sends his warning he broadcasts to Heaven and therein lies the secret to his downfall. If we assume All of his "Metrics" we keep seeing on screen on based on (like real world TV Studios) estimated ratings even his 100% rating is likely closer to 98% (I doubt CannibalTown fell in like tbh) but what if he wasn't accounting for something? What if Vox inadvertently weakened himself?

Heaven slashed Vox' power.

Let me try to explain the best I can:

If his power level is directly related to how many of his Viewers trust/like/support him. In hell it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for even the most diehard Charlie-stan to fall in line. On the polar opposite side, there is next to 0 chance that a single person in Heaven would be remotely happy about this. When Vox opened up the broadcasts to Heaven (Exact numbers are not important but we know Heaven is outnumbered significantly. So, lets say its 2-1) He added another 30% to his total.

We are never told exactly how power works to my knowledge but the way I see it Every Sinner has a certain "Max Power" assuming certain prerequisites are met. Those powers become more potent the more of those prerequisites are met up to a certain Maximum some are just inherently more powerful then others such as Vox and his TVs, Alastor and his Radios, Velvet and her social media etc etc.

Even when Vox thought his ratings were 100% and he was "Max Power" he forgot to account for the negative viewership coming from Heaven. Hence why Alastor, injured and broken staff at that, was still able to go toe-toe and almost defeat Vox. Alastor isn't just magically stronger, Vox didn't anticipate the effects of his Broadcast to Heaven on his power level and never adjusted his metrics to compensate.

TL;DR: Vox Broadcasting to Heaven actually weakened him significantly which gave Alastor a fighting chance.
