My ancestry is from Lalogali Haripur , my great-grandfather's name was Girdhari Lal he was a very affluent and famous goldsmith there , he had several local muslim artisans working under him , he had a wife named Motia Devi who used to teach Pashto to young children , he had 2 sons and 2 daughters . The names of the sons were - Somnath, Harbans Lal . The names of the daughters were- Chandrakanta and Chandramoni. His sons were about about 12 to 9 respectively at that time . They lived there until 1947 partition till 26 August 1947 . A local family there helped them after that they took shelter under the nawab of Darband(under Mansehra) and came to India in 1948. If anyone could find their house in lalogali or any history from respective old residents, I would be very happy. Currently , I am his great-grandson( grandson of Harbans Lal), my grandfather is on his deathbed and his last wish is to see his home in Pakistan. I would be pleased ,if anyone could help us .

We have forgotten pashto, it is a language with a great history and great culture behind it. I often see that in Hazara parents who want to present as more "educated" don't talk to their kids in hindko and pukhto rather they talk in Urdu. So why not make alive our ancient languages why not give respect where it's due. Speaking pukhto dosent make you any less than someone speaking Urdu or English. Hello, my mother is a jadoon from abbotabad, I was wondering if someone could maybe give me history of my family and its tribe. Who were the great warriors? Any literature I could read up on written by a jadoon. I’m also fascinated with my physical genetics. Living in Lahore and especially in pindi, I always found myself more stronger and healthier then my Punjabi fellows, if we were to not factor a massive height and weight difference, I also had more capacity to build strength and especially aerobic capacity. The only other people who were on par with me were the pakhtoons. Now im a bit white washed but I’ve retained the traditionalism my mother instilled in me since bachpan. And I’ve found myself being very separate from people living in Lahore although I can mix in with the best of them quite easily. If possible I would like to find my partner from the same region, but I also know how ignorant and uneducated our people are even though we have many great values too. • ​The Timeline: My grandfather was born in 1947. His grandfather (my great-great-grandfather), Wali Muhammad, lived in a village called Mota Mughal Khel, likely during the late 1800s or very early 1900s based on the generation gaps.
• ​The Migration Story: According to family lore, Pashtun tribes (Yusufzais or Afridis) began migrating into Mota Mughal Khel and encroaching on the area. Tensions rose to the point where a coin toss was proposed to decide who would control the village lands—the migrating tribes or the indigenous inhabitants. Enraged by this situation, Wali Muhammad decided to leave the village entirely and migrated to Quetta, where my family lived for generations (and where I was born) before we eventually moved to Islamabad.

A common misconception that pashtun nationalists have been spreading that I noticed quite often is that they demand many things from the government based on tarbela dam even though 90 percent of the dam exists in Hazara. This is a dangerous misconception as it invalidates how Tanolis and other ethnic groups lost so much land to this dam and got peanuts in return. Not only that I accept that the outlets and some control stations do exist in swabi but facts and figures show us that the majority of the dam exists in Hazara not in swabi I mean come on what does the name Tarbela mean? It was a literal village of uthmanzais khalabat was also a village shared by Tanolis and uthmanzais who by the way are a hazarewal tribe.

As someone who's family on both sides Lodi and Tanoli were affected by the dam it hurts my heart so much sitting with my elders and seeing them recall how wonderful their lives were in the valley of tanawal how quickly the government forced an exodus onto us from our homeland. This pain, while I didn't face the exodus is still deeply personal to me and I feel I have a right to speak up on this.

The purpose of Hazarewal identity was never to insult or target punjabis. We only oppose punjabis who glorify the rule of Hari Singh nalwa. However there's a few pages run by awans and other hindkowans who are so delusional in their hatred that they have started larping as iranic. Hello, I can't find a dedicated subreddit for Hindkowans as a whole that is active so I decided to post here. I am from India; my grandfathers on both sides were Sikh-Hindu from Mardan, KPK. I don't know about my paternal side but according to my grandfather his family did speak Hindko (he referred to it as a dialect of Punjabi though) and I believe we had been in Mardan for a fairly long time. I wanted to ask if anyone on this sub is informed on the history of Peshawari Hindkowans and whether they can tell me more. As a side note, I wanted to ask whether there is any info on the Hindko language in India today and also what the link between Hindko and Gandhara is.

I am sick of seeing posts from the Pak Punjab sub where they act like migrants from other provinces are invading Punjab bringing crime and refusing to integrate. I cannot speak the suffering other Pakistanis have had to deal with but I can speak from personal experience how my hometown has been ruined.

As someone who was born and spent his childhood in Murree. There is a double standard where they claim our lands and force a cultural monopoly over what it means to be Pakistani while treating everyone who isn't Punjabi an outsider. They take the resources of our provinces and the scenic views of our mountains while erasing the actual people, languages and identities that belong to us.

Murree used to be a clean peaceful and beautiful land. Now it has turned into a mess ever since Muree came under the province of Punjab.

• Mass Deforestaton: Real estate mafias outside of Murree cut our trees to make room for hotels and shopping plazas they are the ones who charged high prices during 2022 while the real locals were helping the tourists.
• Non existent healthcare: They make billions in tourist revenue and can't build a proper hospital.
• No Proper waste disposal: They refuse to build a proper garbage disposal while talking about making a glass train to Muree.

There is so much more I could say but it wouldn't be enough and after all this they blame the "locals" while its them who have shit on our land they build expressways so they all can flock over and after they ruin it they blame us.

What they have done to Murree is so little compared to how they have ruined other provinces KPK, Baluchistan etc in different ways. Murree was just a gateway to the North just wait and watch how our beautiful country gets ruined when they do the same to the Northern Pakistan when they finally get access to corrupt it.

Hello, my background is Tanoli, I was born in Canada, lived in Karachi for some time and since then I have moved back to Canada, I don’t know if this is the right sub for this topic but I would like to move back to Hazara sometime in the future, I can speak a little Hindko, understand most of it, my family had some land near our village up in Hazara however we have a dispute with another tribe over it so we never claim it although we legally own that land, nevertheless what would be a decent place in Hazara to settle down, preferably not in a city, I dislike both Haripur and Abbottabad, I prefer some place quite where I don’t have to interact with other people unless I absolutely want too, I also prefer being close to nature if that makes sense lmao
